The whole fight for freedom of slaves as an idea is stupid in the context of this time. Every society that existed even the thracians(Spartacus is tracian) had slaves. All in all the series are good though. They try to do an american spin, this freedom shenanigans americans always cry about, forgetting they are the most famous ones for keeping chattel slavery long into modern times, in their own country no less. Other countries at least had it in the colonies.

If you've ever watched the entire Spartacus series, take note of the difference between Glabber and Crassus. Glabber assumed superiority simply because he was Roman. Crassus understood being Roman didn't make him superior to anybody in battle. I love the dichotomy between the two men. Crassus did the work, he earned his victories. I could've respected him if he weren't so ruthless and heartless.

My take on ranking the warriors from the series: 1. Teokoles (abnormal pain/injury resistance condition, allows for continued attack without setback, size, skill as dimachaerus) 2. Prime Spartacus (Leadership, main character), Prime Oenomaus (multi style fighting honed by the pits, above average resistance to injuries) 3. Gannicus (God of the arena) 4. Prime Crixus (started after becoming champion of Capua, until falling to Theokoles, no worries but the arena) 5. The Egyptian (speed, uncommon style of double blades CQC) 6. Caburus (Size and extreme agression, plus strengh) 7. Crassus (gladiatoral arts knowledge, patience against greater skill) 8. Prime Barca (at least until being appointed bodyguard of Batiatus) 9. Agron (only after escaping the Ludus) 10. Ashur (on his final season of the show)
