The noise isn't so much the issue as it, to make the noise it goes into the straight pipe, which bypasses the emissions system which is a big issue, the black smoke definitely not going to win any favors either

I am an owner driver and a friend who also has his truck fitted with mods got stopped by vosa and he had same type of set up as trucker tim the traffic commissioner opened investigation and at my friends hearing he was given a big fine a restriction on his operator licence and made to rsmove entire side pipe because the traffic commissioner didn't belive my friends explanation at all . What the traffic commissioner says goes Now trucker tim for a long time has been breaking the law . Traffic commissioner just needs to look at tims videos and can see tim using side pipe blowing dirty black smoke all over cyclists pedestrians runners dog walkerx children and also see tim laughing his head of thinking its funny and good content . Plus noise pollution. Tim is also seen on his videos seen opening his side windows when vosa were passing or tim was passing as tim new full well these tints were illegal and laughing. The traffic commissioner will look at this behaviour and see its been going on a long time plus tim using blue lights on uk roads this will also not look good on who does tims 6weekly check so that pulls shaun in as well so tim could be made to make a decision take his scania of the road and make it a show truck only and be tranported by trailer only and he keeps all mods and can put dark tints on side windows again , he can drive it on private land and at show grounds only . But if he cant convince traffic commissioner and still wants to use it on road haulage the traffic commissioner can put many restrictions ie tints off blue cones of or change to orange and remove side pipe plus fines plus restrictions on operator licence or suspension for 6monthx a year ect or even revoke it completely. You may not agree or like think its unfair except traffic commissioner has final say . Tim has brought all this on himself no one else to blame he new the law and kept flouting it now it s pay back time .

Rather than welded up I would of had a little cover controlled by actuator or air pressure so as you come off the public road you can go stright pipe with smoke and noise like into the unit or into nippers workshop etc.
Skelton Lake Services, try the hot food in the petrol station especially the southern fried chicken stack burger with potato rosti on it 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Awesome video Tim, also I am curious, are you allowed to drive other peoples Trucks with sidepipe? or is it just the R500 that you cant drive with the sidepipe anymore
Is it the side pipe that is the issue? Or just the smoke that comes out?
Both. Modified exhaust due to noise levels. Black smoke due exhaust emissions.
That bites you can’t run with out a side pipe I don’t wanna get you into more hot water but did you notice your fuel mileage change with it open
Here in North America our emission systems burn twice as fuel as a non emission spec vehicle
Why don't you put some sftacks on it instead of the side pipe?
You should have used your workshop compressor to air volvo suspension up.
why are you not a spokesperson for ETS.. I love your sim truck and would love to see it if i am ever in the UK.
Will miss the sidepipeaction but better to still have your license so you can keep the content coming 👍🏻
This may be a lot to ask for however can you do a hour or half a hour of just your r series with it reving and the black smoke?Just not on public roads
Love that line”I’ll pump while you do it” omg 😂
Ben says NOOO
Timing got to be spot on, too..
Well at least you got to use the side pipe while you could
Another Great Video Trucker Tim and Keep up the good work
@ getting that Volvo off was painful to watch and further makes me wonder, how have you made it this far?
I'm surprised the DVSA didn't mention the filming while driving?
another thing I have noticed Tim is, you are handling camara equipment while driving, its something you will need to change so you dont get prosecuted.
So are they forcing you to remove your blue lights
Was that you southbound on the A1 Saturday in a certain new to you unit solo.
Tim can’t you convert to stacks rather than side pipe? 👍🏻
Tim your speedo or rev gauge don't work on the sim. Need to get the cluster wired to the sim
And get a proper steering wheel in that Scania. The 3 spoke looks crap
Why is a side pipe illegal? I can understand the smoke. But not the side pipe.
I believe there’s a decibel limit.
@@regularguy3665 yeah that makes sense I suppose. Bloody kill joys 🤣
So I’m now thinking you have bought that next gen that you drove in last video and now you’ll have 4 show trucks (2 Volvos and 4series and R series) once you have done 4series👌🏻👍🏻
Braver man than me to work under a cab not fully over😬
Urghh that snatch strap on the lowball 😂💀 I’ve seen those suckers let go as they aren’t rated.
What a mess... :D It is what it is, sometimes there are days like that. But you've had your fun
What the traffic commissioner says goes
Now trucker tim for a long time has been breaking the law .
Correct
I hope they throw the book at Tim. He should be setting an example to his young audience
I did wonder about the smoke thing , is there a way to get the sound without the smoke ?
Yes. Just re-flash/reset/revert the ECM/ECU to the factory mapping.
Tim did you fail to check how high you were when you had those 2 trailers?
Also anyone who doesn't have wet gear to wear in the truck is either lucky with the weather or isn't a real trucker
My opinion
Isn't there a big outdoor speaker on the market where you can simulate the side-pipe sound and still be in compliance with the DVSA rules? Not the real deal but better then nothing 😂
Nice to see you in Mirfield
Have you still got your lights inside the cab behind you
How come mw engineering arnt doing it anymore have you brought it all in house now
