    Great video as always! Love the tone of it, I feel like small insights into your personal life and experience make me enjoy all your other videos more as I have some more connection to the creator behind them (even though I dislike sitcoms a lot and believe that How I met your mother is... not good. :'D) Thanks for such a warm emotional video and I wish you lots of luck on you way!

    I'm truly impressed that you made this, slice of life but trust me it still applies to games and stuff, premise for a video work so well.

      Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was definitely one where I was worried people might find it hard to relate to (since it's mainly personal stuff) but it's nice seeing people so receptive to it

    This is something I definitely appreciate games like the Witcher, Detroit become human, and Fromsoft games for including. It would be nice if more video games did this, and it would be amazing if movies would also do this.

    Awesome job as always. I think the personal touch added a lot to this one. You're gonna crush it in your new city, man!
    When it comes to games, I think the perpetual open door and propensity for remakes is mostly driven by just how expensive modern triple-A game development is, which naturally drives companies back to the same proven wells again and again. There could also be some recognition (consciously or unconsciously) that a lot of people aren't as engaged with games these days as they used to be for a variety of reasons. Remaking games or putting out new entries in series when players had a deeper connection with the original could seem like money in the bank.
    Another reason for a lack of solid ending in a lot of games is that once developers/publishers started being able to track how far players were getting in their games (via achievements/trophies, or other forms of data gathering), they realized most players don't finish games. Some of them actually publicly stated that they won't invest as much money in the latter parts of a game because fewer people will actually experience it. This was always bizarre to me, as game's reputation and legacy are usually defined by their most ardent fans, who will almost certainly finish the game. Frontloading a game might get more people to experience the best a game has to offer, but it will inevitably harm a game's reputation in the long run, imo.
    Keep up the good work man! 👍

      Definitely agree with point 1, I feel like the lack of endings makes sense financially it's just frustrating as consumers. The second point is interesting, I hadn't actually thought of that but it's definitely a feeling I can relate to. YT also has a lot of watch time analytics and sometimes when it's taking me forever to make a video I want to edit the ending a little less heavily than the beginning because I know the metrics and see when people typically lose interest. I'd get that a lot early on in the channels life when it felt like I didn't have a solid viewer base and it was just random people watching my videos. It was hard to put effort in the second half of a video I thought absolutely no one was gonna watch. But I still tried to invest time in it for my sake and especially now that I know some people will actually watch all the way through I don't feel like that anymore. Granted, my situation doesn't take millions of dollars and a whole bunch of time to implement, but I agree that it's counterintuitive to not invest as much into the second half of a game just cause a grouo of people won't get there to begin with. That's a very shortsighted mindset

    That's what we need more in our media, closure doesn't always come in real life, so we need that in media sometimes.

    While I certainly can see your point here, I think its also very important to let shows come to their natural conclusion as well, whenever that may be. Some of my favorite shows have been forcibly cancelled by the networks/streaming services that they aired on, despite the creators themselves wanting to tell more stories with those shows.
    While it may be true that these shows (such as The Owl House, Tuca and Bertie, Paranormal Park, etc.) may have had terrible seasons if they HAD been green lit for additional seasons through reversing their cancellations, as you try to claim in this video. I would also like posit that they may have been really good, enjoyable additional seasons. Its really weird, because while everything you say is accurate and true here (Lord knows I’m not going to start claiming Hollywood/video game companies AREN’T running franchises into the ground out of greed at this point). I also think that there are many shows whose endings not only have come much too prematurely, but would have been able to be much BETTER shows if they had been able to end on their own terms. While some creators likely certainly would just keep making the shows, cartoons, video game series, etc. that they created forever if they could get away with that. I also think their are just as many creators that really WANTED to give a great ending to their series/shows, but were unable to do so because they got screwed over by the networks that they aired/were hosted on. (ALF is a really great example of that too!)
    I think that you double down too much on the negatives that can come from shows, video games, movie franchises, not knowing when to call it quits. While not really talking about how much GOOD can also come out those media staying the course, and still being able to create good art while not dying out completely. The same is true for the real life equivalents for these things as well. A lot of bad stuff can also come out of change, while certainly a lot of good has come FROM knowing when to settle down or to not call it quits on something. I know that big life decisions are very difficult to make, but rarely do they ever go only just one way. Sure, you could have definitely regretted not moving to help your career, but maybe there would have been better opportunities that you couldn’t have known about that would have come your way if you would have stayed.
    There doesn’t have to be (and often isn’t) a hardline ‘correct’ decision to make in cases that are as variable and undeterminable as many major life decisions actually are. That doesn’t mean that you should NEVER end anything your life to be clear, but it also doesn’t mean that staying the course and allowing things to continue as they are absolutely HAS to be the ‘bad’ option/decision to make either. Who’s to say that you DO start getting frustrated at your career path and project that onto your own living situation either, you know? Maybe the answers to those questions would have turned out to actually be better than you think that they would have been.

    I’m going to have to disagree that Harry Potter play was not bad. The book was bad because it doesn’t translate well. Actually watch the play it’s REALLY good. Honestly I think that story only works as a play and I thinks that’s fine.

    P.S - I get the FF7 joke but most of what you showed was the same and I don’t want to spoil anything to you if you do eventually play it but it’s called FF7 Remake and the sequel is called Rebirth for a reason lol
    P.P.S - Uncharted had a movie 😭

    • @AsadAnjum
      @AsadAnjum  Рік тому

      You got me with the Uncharted movie, totally slipped my mind lmao. Ff7 I get what you mean with the different versions of the same thing, but they're still splitting the main remake series into 3 parts (all probably 30-50 hours long) and putting out alternative/more feature heavy versions of each which is still, imo, stretching ff7 excessively far. Generally I'm a little conflicted on this idea of big franchises just circling back on themselves and remaking every major game in their history along with new games (RE is doing the same). It's kinda cool to see some of em come back, but it's crazy that we have entire remake SERIES now

      @atulbalaji1321 Рік тому +2

      @@AsadAnjum hahah I get it. Only one game is out for the FF7 remake but I think so far, all signs are that it’s not just a remake. Hopefully without spoiling anything for you, it’s kind of a remake and a sequel of the OG at the same time in a weird way. So I’m not sure it’s the perfect example but yeah I get what you mean. Another prime example of never ending stories is MCU and others with their multiverses

    • @AsadAnjum
      @AsadAnjum  Рік тому +1

      @@atulbalaji1321 right, I mean to keep it vague in case anyone sees this I do know that they made a change to a specific character at the end of remake that ties into the naming of the next game. And I know that that's supposed to have huge ramifications, basically take it in an entirely different direction. So I totally know what you mean, the remake is straying far from its inspirations. But the concept/brand/name/nostalgia for ff7 is still being used throughout this series, even if it's a departure. Its basically a whole new thing with the same characters so I'd never call it recycled or uninspired, but I would still say it feels "unending"

    • @AsadAnjum
      @AsadAnjum  Рік тому

      I don't fully agree with your superhero take (though I get what you mean with how you're almost certain the hero will survive and continue to exist in the cinematic universe afterwards which lowers the stakes) but I think it can apply well to why a lot of new marvel movies feel so random and pointless rn. We just came off phase 3 where everything was working towards and end (and then that end happened and legitimately changed the landscape and removed a lot of characters) and now it's wide open and we've hit a long "beginning" stage again. I still like a good chunk of recent superhero movies but I can see the point you're making
