On this video, I'm featuring delicious plant-based recipes inspired by the Blue Zone Diet! Have you seen the show on Netflix? Blue Zones are areas in the world where people tend to live longer and healthier lives. They have some of the highest concentration of centenarians (people who live past 100 years old) in the world! One of the key traits of a Blue Zone diet is that they follow a heavily plant-based diet. Not only are these recipes delicious and healthy, they are also budget friendly.

    For your feta recipe:
If you have non-pasteurised miso and cover the tofu with this (or a similar) brine you can let the tofu miso-ferment. It gets more savory abd the texture changes. It's next level good.

    • @tofu-munchingCoalition.ofChaos
      @tofu-munchingCoalition.ofChaos 6 місяців тому +1

@@emmo4765 Similar but not quite the same.
I made misozuke tofu because of her (Okonomi Kitchen's) video. But what I mean is a lot simpler (cube the tofu up and cover it with brine) and shorter (only a few days not weeks).
Because of the shorter time there is essentially no risk for mold development. And the texture is not as soft as misozuke tofu. More crumbly.
I learned this recipe from a German chef who learned it in a restaurant somewhere outside of the EU.
But the best (in my opinion) feta from tofu is made using lacto-fermentation with a brine from a vegetable ferment. But that recipe takes 6 weeks (essentially only waiting but still it has to be planned).
It is still simpler than misozuke tofu (never seen mold development). I use it to make cream cheeses, for salads and sandwiches.
But misozuke tofu is better for that viral feta-tomato pasta (like Okonomi Kitchen made in her video).

🌟♥️ Yes, Blue zone! If you notice the other thing blue zones have in common is activity. Many start their days early with gardening, being outdoors, tending to animals, etc, and work early morning hours, 3-4, then take a break the rest of the day, but preparing healthy meals and enjoying time with family, community. Sweet potatoes and legumes are also very common. Such good wholesome food. Great video 👍

let the food go near the edge of the pan, 45 angle foward, then pull fast toward you pushing downt he angle (will make the food sledge outside of pan, but as you pull toward you will velocity the food upwar like a dirtbike jump ) kenivel, best with pan that have a good 45 edge, if edge is to thin shalow not well angled, have to push down the handle further so food do go on wall
then pan back normal position to capture falling food (dont lift pan up orand push toward, make it roll the edge , and do opposit, pull toward you to create velocity of food toward edge, then handle down (so other opposit go up) and give momentum
i love shaking the food (specialy with low oil i shake it nonstop so less stick)
save unessential calori by moving food fast and no need saturated trans fat, (and not too much mono poly unsaturated fat)
oils are completly unesential (flax chia has all mono poly unsaturated fat we could ever need)

beans are very nutritious and depending on type of beans lack a bit of 2 3 amino acid, that are easily found in other plants
      bean rice gg.
Beans alone and rice alone both lack certain essential amino acids. If eaten together, however, each contributes what the other is missing to form a complete protein.

    • @MassMultiplayer
      @MassMultiplayer 6 місяців тому +1

i dont cook or prepare meal per say. i put bunch of nutritious plant togheter raw or cook. lol xD
but yep my meal look like that but the tofu is less crunchy cause i dont use any oils (since flax and chia give me all fat i need, and avoid the unhealthy part and calori part of adding oils unessentialy (taste amazing tho) and burnt oils, (trans and saturated fat too)) but my personal preference and ajustment to taste with time
      tofu isnt easy without oils
most fruit vegies grain rice bean are super easy without any oils (shake pan nonstop, lower heat)

Did you know that today is the first day of the rest of your life!? This means, that starting right now, you can be the person you've always wanted to be! So, say it out loud:
~ "Starting today, I'm going back to my roots and being vegan again, the way I was born and always meant to be. I never wanted to hurt animals and from now on, I'm going to take all the necessary steps to remove any violence from entering my body.”
~ “I will start to google vegan recipes and add more lentils, chickpeas, tofu, nuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, dates, oats, potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, kale, bokchoy, spinach smoothies with bananas, avocado toast, bean salads and anything else that does not contain murder or stolen body parts, to my diet.”
"Today, I will be brave and proud to let everyone know that I'm out of the closet as a vegan , animal-defender, and I'll be prepared to stick to my convictions even when society tries to make fun of my caring heart, or to pressure me to enter back into their carnistic cult."
~ "I will stand strong and I will not back down because, for the rest of my life I want to love and appreciate myself instead of feeling embarrassed about being a walking contradiction. Today, is the first day of the rest of my days. Today I am an ethical vegan who, although not perfect, will do the best I can, each day to no longer pay for animal slavery in places like seaworld, circuses, horse-races, or factory farms."
~ "Starting today, I will go through each item in my fridge and say goodbye to my old life as someone who used to eat flesh, fear, blood and sadness and I will replace these with all the colours of the vegan rainbow by stocking up on nutritious items like white soy milk, orange carrots, yellow corn, green spinach, red peppers, purple eggplant, black berries, pink watermelon, sandy-colored walnuts, white tofu, orange pumpkin soup, yellow bananas, green peppers, red raspberries, purple blueberries, black raisins, brown beans, red cabbage, green beans, brown whole-grain bread and, I also will be open to trying all kinds of new vegan foods & spices along during the years to come.”
~ “From this moment on, I will no longer be trying to delude myself with fairy tales of "backyard eggs", "organic milk", or "free-range meat" - I will only be telling myself the truth and eating according to my always-present value system of fairness and kindness to all sentient beings."
~ "Today I acknowledge that animals who have never done a single thing to harm me, will no longer be a target for the selfish greed of my palate and will, instead, become the focus of my talents to try to save them from abuse, neglect and from anyone who tries to justify eating the only one thing the animals have ever owned, their lives."
~ "I declare today, ______________ to be my Happy Vegan Declaration Day and I invite everyone who meets me to celebrate this moment with me. But if they don't, I know that Miss Kadie is there, cheering me on, and so are the billions of animals out there who are so proud of my newfound courage."

I know tofu is your favorite ingredient and you say we can use other things, but how about showing us other things to use?
Tofu is essentially just soy milk fat. And not something you want to eat too much of if you want to be truly healthy.

@@mikael1997 Are you claiming that tofu is lower in fat and better for calcium and protein than tempeh and healthier than oyster mushrooms and broccoli sprouts❓

No. I didn't say that no foods lower in fat than tofu exists nor that tofu is the healthiest in the world.
I just felt you talked tofu down too much compared to how healthy it is.
Comparing it to Tempeh is fair, and I agree tempeh is slightly healthier, I eat it myself often!
Comparing it to Oyster mushrooms and broccoli is also fine, but I was mostly thinking of other good protein sources.

@@mikael1997 you made a claim illustrating the benefits of tofu but compared with nothing. Claiming something is beneficial doesn't work that way. You didn't state what you were comparing it against so I illustrated my point.
Fine, you want another protein source, let's compare tofu to quinoa.

These are OK recipes but you'll never have the sophistication or skills of 'yeung man cooking' or 'food impromptu'.
