    In this mukbang, I am trying CHIPOTLE for the first time! I'm having a big vegan burrito and some chips & guacamole~ While eating, we're discussing the unfortunate passing of Matthew Perry, the beloved actor who played Chandler Bing on Friends. I'm also discussing the concept of fame and happiness (or lack thereof). Hope you enjoy this episode!

    The key with chipotle is to get the bowl, double rice and double beans. That way you get waay more food. And they don't charge extra. I get the red hot sauce on the side and throw it in my tofu bowls at home because to me that's what makes the food taste delish

    For me, Chipotle is just a convenient option to get vegan food in not-so vegan areas. Same with Starbucks. Now there's more and more vegan options, but for a long time, Chipotle and Starbucks was all I could get in my town.

    • @vikkumari

      Oh also my order is a bowl with tortilla and chips on the side. I make my own burrito with the tortilla and then eat the remaining bowl with the chips. Bowl gives more food. Somebody told me this hack ages ago and I have done it ever since. If I'm reading on the go and won't have the space to make my burrito, I'll just order the burrito for ease.

    Used to like chipotle but the cross Contamination turned me off so bad. They would always drop cheese and meat into the vegetables. Last time I went I found steak in my bowl 😢 and they switched my order with someone else's then gave me attitude about it 😂 didn't really have a desire to go back after that

      @JonesLeFae yeah I don't mind if it has other proteins at the store however I'll never understand why they have to put the vegan proteins right next to the meat and cheese lol. Like MOD pizza at least puts their vegan cheese in a fridge separate from everything else. Idk why they don't just do that.

      @luminvader8911 7 місяців тому

      @Vegantheanimals yeah I always cross reference check everything before I go into a place that isn't 100% dedicated vegan. I also am allergic to gluten so I always have to check the gf menu and then the vegan menu because they can't seem to just state what is vegan, gf, allergen free, dairy free, etc. Makes is so much harder to eat out that I usually don't do it often because I just can't trust people to not cause major cross contamination. While I know it's hard and not 100% easy it just bothers me that they don't take a little bit of extra care to separate ingredients they know are vegan or gf; it'd be so easy to just put them in a separate container away from all the allergens. 🤷‍♀️ that's why it's easier for me to eat at home cause calling people and asking what's in their food they have no idea and say "let me check" and leave me sitting or hanging for 10 minutes. Can't trust people that don't even know what's in their food to begin with 🫠

    I think part of Matthew Perry's unhappiness is that even though he was so famous he wasn't really known for himself. People just saw him as Chandler Bing. Look at the tribute videos going out, saying thank you for all the laughs, basically for giving them joy when he didn't receive that back. Not one tribute video has mentioned anything about him aside from his Friend's role. It must have been pretty lonely for him. I also think it's sad that he said he wanted to have kids and that he thought he would make a great dad. I think he would have, too.

    Really enjoyed this topic. Thanks Rose!! I think this is so applicable in today’s society because most of us are so glued to our phones seeing ppl that we think look happy on social media that we think that’s what we need to do to be happy….. or to ‘check off all the boxes’ but really…. Maybe if we just took a step back and ***slowed down life*** and surround ourselves with ppl and activities that we enjoy that that would bring more happiness. A simple life is probably the happiness we are searching for…. I am going to tryyyyyy and slow my life down a bit more. It’s so hard because there’s so many things I wanna do 🥲🤪 Also I have certain commitments that I feel guilty for quitting but I’m feeling so burnt out overall.
    Robin William’s death hit me HARDDDDD btw. I cried really hard actually because I was so shocked. I had no idea he was struggling and he brought me so much joy.

    Oh yes, there were some celbrity deaths that hit me hard too. Matthew Perry was one of them, I grew up watching Friends, I loved it so much as a teen and it kind of connected me more to my siblings because we'd always watch it together. Also Dolores O'Riordan, the singer of my fav band The Cranberries, and Sinéad O'Connor as well - probably my fav solo artist, she also died this year.
    I agree to some degree. I guess, fame and money don't make you happy overnight necessarily. But I have heard from some people that they're happy to be a star and love it or that they always knew that they were going to be famous and are still happy that they made it as well as happy with their life overall. But I guess, you're right, as you say, it really depends on the person and how happy they've been before and after. It's a very interesting topic to talk about.

    Cultivate inner joy. Happiness is not meant to be a numbing emotion or cure for no longer feeling other emotions that may feel unpleasant or undesired or working on the traumas you have endured and their side effects. It comes and goes like all the others that is okay. All emotions have meaning and fluctuate. We can manifest our dreams and go back to the drawing board to say hmmm you know this could be more balanced or I need something different now. Is great! Keep creating. I think what maybe happens is people just want to stop and rest and think that after finishing one creation that is it. They dont have to do anything else they can stop. That isnt in theory how life works. We are always changing and growing and evolving we are going to want new things new interests new desires. That is okay!. It makes sense a dream created in 20s isnt probably going to meet needs fully in 30s because you have learned grown and developed since then. The joy in life is the continuing journey and keep creating for the sake of that joy itself. Our own unique philosophy of the way to live our life and living true to that is something that matters and is worth reflecting on for what will work for you. You don't have to stop dreaming just because you achieved one dream. Keep dreaming. Keep creating. There is always something more and that is okay.

      It’s not the best , but so far if I cut the very bottom & put it in a small glass of water in the fridge. It lasts a bit longer than the bag. Hope to find something better soon .

    This is random but I first tried Chipotle back in 2012 when I went to the US for the first time. I really really love their bowl. I'm not sure why but I really love it (perhaps I love the flavour and zestiness and satiety it gives me haha). I love it so much that on my last day in the US I ate it for breakfast lunch and dinner HAHAHA. I hope I can give it a try again one day especially their vegan options!
    Also this is why I love your mukbang Rose. You give so much insights in the topic of your mukbang talk. Learned so much from this episode alone (love the Jim carrey quote and the hedonic treadmil). Anyway another random thing: When Avicii died my mum was talking to me and she was like "Why did he commit suicide? He's rich and famous". That's when I realise we need more knowledge and talk about mental health 🥲

    I love the tacos and burritos but lately I've been getting a bowl (when I get Chipotle - usually when I'm traveling. Otherwise I don't eat it often.). I like pinto beans, brown rice, fajita veggies, both hot and mild salsas, lettuce, and guac. LOVE their chips! Sometimes I get the sofritos, but it tends to give me gas!

    Chipotle used to be my safe bet for fast food, whether the vegan or non vegan options. But in recent years they have declined badly.
    So many times the rice is undercooked, some of the protein options are really oily.
    I don’t know if maybe as you eat healthier or as you get older, the less you can handle fast food due to the high salt / high oil etc

    I have never had Chipotle, either... but it looks a lot like Mucho Burrito (which has a plant based crumble and vegan cheese options).
    I take what celebrities say about being happy with a grain of salt... Millionaires (often ones that inherited their wealth) that money doesn't matter. There was a meme that showcased it well. They also tell us that the secret of being rich is being frugal. In the end I have found that In a capitalist society money doesn't buy you happiness... but it does buy you security. The mistake is when people equate money with happiness.

    I like it because I can get more food than Taco Bell has for the price. Good, but not world-ending amazing, for sure. I get the bowls vs. the burritos because I am a mess and can never keep the burritos together. I also enjoy getting the smoked/chipotle tabasco (if I'm in the restaurant) to put on it. I also don't tend to get the sofritas because I prefer their guac, and you can get that for free on the plain veggie bowls. I tend to not order it for delivery because there has been at least one time they sent me someone's chicken bowl, and the one that will deliver to where I work never gets my order right. Extra fajitas? Great, we'll put three on it for you! Um, but I don't eat meat, guys. That's the bulk of my meal???

    The money thing, maybe some are saving it for their children, grandchildren, or whoever, but I personally don’t know. It’s just an assumption . You can’t take anything with you when you go, so that’s the only thing I can think of. Funerals are extremely expensive too, so maybe some save up for that as well so family doesn’t have to go broke planning a simple one .

    Rose, when ppl go to Chipotle 's they're eating either the chicken, or the beef so since your a vegan it's just the veggies and maybe rice and beans lol so you're not getting the flavor that's in the meats, lol but hey all the sauces are great and the guac is also very delish😋

    I have had quite a few people close to me die by suicide.
    I am asking a genuine question here and not trying to trigger anyone. I truly do not inderstand why we are using the term un-alive. It seems to me to be a term used to soften the blow where we shouldnt. It is a serious act. I am a bit older and this could just be one of those time that i am not keeping up?

    • @natedawgmomtakeover9972
      @natedawgmomtakeover9972 7 місяців тому

      The term isn’t just used for suicide. It just means not alive anymore no matter how it happened. Instead of saying dead, I guess unalive sounds less harsh but it’s just a descriptor if anything

    • @sarahmunson1778
      @sarahmunson1778 7 місяців тому

      What I've heard is that it started on TikTok because videos would get banned if they say words like dead, killed, suicide, etc. It spilled over onto other platforms because I guess it can get you docked on those too. I don't know how true that is, but that's what I've been told. I think it's also spreading as a way to soften the blow, tho, as you say, because I've heard it on podcasts and other places like that where I don't think they'd be punished for saying those words. Probably as a way to avoid triggering people, but I agree that it would be more honest and authentic to just use the real word.

    Bleh not a fan of chipotle. I mean it’s fine, and maybe I just don’t like cilantro. But I prefer my own burrito creation- I like my ratio of ingredients better. To me it’s a waste, but I’m broke, so it makes sense if you need a quick meal and can afford it.
