      Nevertheless Garlic swordsman are fearsome warriors and should not be taken carelessly.

      It needed to be said. Some people think the Oracle pairs well with ToA. Guaranteed +1 happiness in all cities. Only, The Oracle is still just fundamentally terrible. Hanging Gardens is 100 shields cheaper, lasts much longer, and gives local happiness as well as the same +1 in all cities.

    The happiness gambit it very useful in general.
    Submarine defensive 'expenditure-leecher strat' on archipelago or continents version vs. 1 or 2 superior foes. It's perhaps somewhat weakly analogous to '50 bombers' aggressive 'I-win-strat', but this only ideal if you are in pursuit of a typical runaway civ with superior land. Not an exact wide strategy per se, but more like a unit based gambit. It worked for me (seafaring) draining the leading civ (aztecs) so that I eventually caught up to them and stirred up the diplo situation with other civs. Declare war, and the basic premise is to utilize standard subs as sea defense to take out transports, which mounts your enemies unit cost and production. Civs also seem to switch government as a response.

    I played the war chariot rush tactic and I have some conclusions. Firstly I think that this tactic is very good for smaller maps, sth below large type. But I tried it on the huge pangea map, 70% water (emperor) and I am not too excited. I mean, it got worse after I destroyed the Byzantines. Beating them was very pleasure, they had only 5 or 6 cities, so I beat them quickly. Then I wanted to beat someone else, so I marched on the French, but at that time, they had already over 10 cities and quite big army, so beating them wasn't to fast. Whats more, after I burned two french cities, I noticed that the Iroquois was willing to take city spots after French, for what I couldn't allow. So I declared on the Iroquois too. And yeah, I could fight with both of them, but i would take too much time, other civs from the continent also were sending settlers to my land. Additionally i fell behind in tech a bit, due to teching on 40/50%.
    I think that whole situation happened because I hooked my horses too late. Also I discovered the wheel quite late (I dont know why xD). Also my chariots had to go a long way from The Byzantines to the French.
    I think that the size of the map is the key here. Civs are too far from each other, its easy to be surrounded by the others.
    If you have some tips for me, I would love you to save them with me and maybe I will try this map one more time.
    Wishes!

    Staying tuned for that war chariot breakdown. Suspecting that the low tier rating has something to do with that short blurb about resetting if you don't have horses nearby, since the war chariot isn't particularly viable if you aren't rushing it ASAP.

    • @suedeciviii7142
      @suedeciviii7142  3 роки тому +1

      You can do a rush off of 8 cities or whatever it's just a more complicated strategy than "literally just stack attack their capital". You are right though that the strat is more sensitive to tempo than iroq/persia/rome/celts though.

      I have won 1 city wonder stacking on emperor, (I only build 1 city, and don't capture any). that is just with really good land - but not modded - then I modded a map to give myself an absoluetly perfect start and after a few tries won with only 1 city on demigod.
