Just also got the 3rd gen last Dec 2021. Been debating either the gen 2 or the 3rd gen, at first i was considering the price and i almost convinced to get the gen 2 in which it would be my first time to use airpods, ever hehe. Long story short, i chose the 3rd gen yes it is not that cheap, but sound quality blew me away especially for their spatial audio quality, and surprisingly fits just right at my ears☺️ Great video BTW🙌

Another fantastic video Sophie really enjoyed this one I have never owned a pair of airpods in my life to be honest as somebody who has owned a lot of Apple tech in the past it is just one of those things where I've never really been interested in purchasing the products however looking at this review it does seem like as if apple are improving the airpods everytime they do release a brand new products in the form of the airpods so it's very interesting to see that you compare this 3rd generation of airpods and compared it to the 2nd generation airpods so very interesting to see that in your video and it is very difficult in a sense that it's designed purposely for certain ears I guess you could say because I don't think apple understand that certain ears are molding in different ways I guess you could say apple I guess would have to take this on board as some feedback in the future maybe there could be a way of them being able to design apple airpods that would be molded for certain people's ears that would be something that would be really really good in the future but again another fantastic video really did enjoy watching this and I did find a couple of parts of this video really hilarious especially with the head bouncing test when you was trying to see whether or not the airpods would come out of your ear or not so really enjoyed this video fantastic content as always and I can't wait to see your next UA-cam video 😀😃🙂

Great video and sounds like pros and cons between both 3rd and 2nd generation. For me the fit and comfort is always my priority as if I don’t have that it’s too much of a distraction to appreciate the quality of the sound.

Great video as always Sophie, love the refreshing and honest style in your videos♥ I have same issue, When I jog i just can't get any earphone to stay in my left ear.. Other than plastic surgery I dont think we can do much about it (please don't go down that path 🤣🤣🤣)

I got mine this week! They definitely sound better but like you, I have a problem with them in one of my ears (the other one is fine!). Gen 2 for comfort... Gen 3 for sound and battery...
At least it's not just me! Completely agree with your thoughts RE Gen 2 for comfort and Gen 3 for sound and battery.
Great video Sophie! Just wondering, have you tried the AirPods Pro? I know you said you don’t like silicone tips but maybe they suit your ears better?
Thank you! That’s a good point. I haven’t tried them but you’re right - they might fit my ears better! I might wait until they bring out an updated version of the Pros (possibly next year?) and then give them a try!
@@sophiedodsworth Sounds like a plan. I think it would annoy me to constantly have to readjust them in my ears. I’m not sure what restrictions are like where you are but maybe you could try them out at a local Apple store and see if you like the fit better than the 3’s before your 14 days are up. Only if you want to. If you prefer to keep the AirPods 3s that’s cool too. ☺️
When I first wore the AirPod 3’s it felt like the left one was more likely to fall out, the right felt slightly less so. But after wearing them for a few days, my ears seem to adjust to them. I also have the habit of buying these silicon covers/adapters with ear horns that fit the AirPods snugly while the silicone horns rest in the contours of the ear. I have yet to have one fall out of my ears. I too have upgraded from the second generation, the silicone tips of the Pros are uncomfortable for me as well.
My best real world simulation is to select a suitable room and cut loose to the music of your own choosing. The Greatest Showman Soundtrack is a go to of mine…

Interesting - I'll have to look into the covers/adapters you mentioned! I didn't even know that was a thing!
The fear of these dropping down a drain would prevent me from wearing these outside haha! Did you do a video latency test? The main reason I'd consider picking up a pair would be for movie watching. I wear over-ear headphones almost all day so it would be nice to give my ears/head a break with something lighter without scacrificing too much quality. Great content btw. Always refreshing to discover new tech channels devoid of the usual hyperbole . Well done.
I have the same fear 😂 I haven’t done a latency test but I’ll make a note to potentially include it in a full in-depth review video. However, I don’t have an issue with that with my AirPods 2 so I think the 3rd gen will be absolutely fine. I originally bought my AirPods 2 as a reason to give my ears a break from over-ear headphones! Thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate it.
Which AirPods would synch with an iPhone 7 do you know? It’d make when I go for a run a lot easier, save me the trouble of connecting headphones to the port of the iPhone. Although I’ve had that kind of problem where the headphone would occasionally slip out of my ear as well, so maybe it might not be worth it, unless it’s something that can get used to being in your ear overtime? It definitely feels huge than my old gen that i lost. I also feel like its gonna fall outta my ear, but it doesn’t fall out, very strange feeling..they sound good tho. Maybe i should give the pro a try but Idk if i will like the pro cuz never a fan of the in ear silicone tips

The left one is fine the right one if I laugh fall out … I didn’t Have this issue with 1 and 2 gen … I will return the 3 and buy the pro to see the difference
This sounds quite common! I've returned to using my 2nd gen because they just fit my ears better. I'm debating trying the Pros if they release an updated pair this year...
I have same problem left ear is fine but right ear feels like it going to fall off. Never had that problem with gen2 AirPods

Left one felt more secure than the right one of my Airpods 3. The Airpods 2 felt more secure than the Airpods 3. Bit of a shame because like yourself I like most of what Apple brings out and use a lot of it too.

airpods are made of a soft plastic material that over time “melts” or “molds” itself to your ears, so give it like 2-3 weeks and they should fit very snug in your ear
