  • Johnny Depp faced rapid-fire cross-examination questioning during his second appearance testifying in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp was shown text messages sent from his phone including one that says "I need, I want, I take." Depp denied sending the text messages and implied someone else in his inner circle sent them.

    My mother was narcissistic and cruel, my sister had borderline personality disorder and made me her scapegoat, just like Whitney. The aggressive way of questioning JD by this lawyer stressed me out and made me cringe, reactivating the assaults I suffered. After these weeks of trial which made J. Deep relive all the abuse he suffered, having to endure this interrogation must have been particularly painful for him. I am filled with compassion for him and all the victims of violence and hidden abuse and I hope that he can resume the course of his life more serenely, also realizing that he was extremely courageous to dare to speak out and that 'it has thus enabled many people to free their speech.

Imagine asking a question and the witness is saying other unnecessary things to the answer YOU want, even if it was your witness you wouldn't want that. So technically, the judge isn't doing anything wrong, his time, he's in control, when Johnny's lawyer 's time comes he can clarify or give the chance for depp to respond and clarify that.

    Johnny strait up was like "no that's not me, id never say anything like that" and the lawyer was like "yes it was", didn't amber have the password to his phone as well has his security and buddies?? Amber could have taken his phone and texted the person that and then deleted them off his phone after screenshotting it and sending it to herself.

    The texts about “Molly” said the direction of the text was incoming not outgoing. Meaning, Johnny received these texts, he didn’t send them. If this is drawn from Johnny’s phone, as counsel stated, they have misrepresented the evidence to the jury. I don’t know if this misrepresentation is intentional, but it is certainly something to be admonished. This is especially the case when news outlets pick up the story like this one and continue the mischaracterization and misrepresentation of the facts.

      @@noahschlegel2362 again, I don’t know if it was intentionally misrepresented, but if it was that is certainly something that needs to be addressed. Nevertheless, I think all evidence should be properly verified, presented to both counsels, identified as accurate, and properly presented to the jury. A part of that is verifying your supposed evidence. If counsel claims that evidence is indicative of something, they should be sure of what they are claiming. If you are going to accuse someone of something, you should certainly be sure your “evidence” is accurate and fair evidence to support your claim(s).

      @Needanewcar Рік тому +56

      @@mrwrightc7 the fact that JD’s lawyers missed it could likely just be that Rottenborn (AH’s lawyer) was crossing JD so fast. They might not have had time to process it and see the direction of the text. Seeing as AH’s lawyers have clearly been sitting on this “evidence” and waiting to present it, I would think they have would have looked at the texts closer. But we are all human. However, if they intentionally misrepresented evidence, that is clearly a problem that needs to be addressed.
