It's sad. But if Amber hadn't made false claims, he would have never told anyone he was a victim of abuse.

It's the narcissism. In her mind, she's never in the wrong. When Johnny defends himself, she hears it as him being mean to her, but what she said is OK. I think that's how she thought she was going to get away with the abuse claims. "Yes, I hit him but he grabbed my arm and moved me from the door way!". It's just the way they think. But, you would think her lawyers would have had the balls to tell her some of her 'evidence' makes her look horrible.

I don't fully agree with you only because I was in an abusive relationship with a narcassist for 11 years and by the end I had nothing left to give. I was this empty shell of a person and the only thing I had left was anger. I would yell and scream to keep him away from me or shove him off me. HOWEVER...
You can clearly see a lot of her narcissistic traits in the multiple recordings of her not angrily defending herself but degrading him by calling him a baby or to grow up (invalidation of feelings)... this is a big key factor in what narcissists do. Not to mention he can't look at her and she has no problems looking at him. There is a trauma response of making eye contact with ANYONE not just our attackers, it's like we feel shame for letting someone do this to us or unsafe if we look into someones eyes.
Continuing on... She never actually sheds a tear in any of her crying episodes... or they last less than 5 seconds and then her composure is completely fine. Then she laughs in "domestic fights" that have been recorded. The biggest thing however... is the fact a woman who helps women who have been through domestic abuse didn't find her to be a victim speaks volumes.
I only disagree with your comment because while I personally was terrified and walking on egg shells I got to a point where I wanted to die so badly and felt I had nothing left to give. I was mean and loud and angry, it made me a monster I never thought I could be but it saved me and got me out. Any woman is capable of standing up and saying enough is enough and if any of it was recorded I probably wouldn't come out looking like the victim in our last fight.

@@bluntweirdo so what do you call it, or how would you describe it when one person commits predominantly psychological/ coercive abuse on a person and then the initial victim becomes violent or also manipulates in response. People high in narcissism that date each other are probably a good candidate for this type of stuff and probably codependant vulnerable people too. I think your kind of making morality binary, right and wrong is not a clear cut dichotomy but I get the sentiment behind what your saying like, abuse is abuse because it overpowers the other person with malicious intent but I very respectfully, completely disagree that two people in a relationship cannot abuse each other on different ways.

Right, she claims he was physically abusive and a danger to her, yet she sounds really comfortable berating him. She claims he was emotionally abusive to her, yet we hear her freely spewing venom and insults. Sure I can believe that they had a toxic relationship and both had their own issues, but not that she is an abused victim as she is trying to portray.
The evidence and Johnny’s responses to here show he is a victim of abuse. Hope he gets support to move beyond what she has done to him, very sad.

I agree he seems to be the abused not the abuser but I’m curious why was the argument recorded? Did that ever get explained because if it didnt her defence team are bound to bring it up and possibly suggest his manner in recording was not typical. He sounded calm on tapes she sounded an out of control mess which fits with witnesses who seem to suggest similar. My only question is how did he stick it out as long as he did……I guess because he somehow felt it his fault and wanted to make it all better….
@@lisadefries6718 I believe at the beginning of the trial Johnny talked about how the fighting had gotten so crazy that they had discussed recording the fights so they could see what was said after the fact because Amber has recordings also....I could be basing this off of some random vid I watched or it was from Johnny's testimony... I've watched so many different reports that I can't be 100% sure.

I think I may have spent a total of 5 minutes with of my life thinking about Johnny Depp. To me he was just another actor who made a few movies that I liked & a bunch that i had no interest in watching. After the Heard abuse allegations came out I thought. "What a typical Hollywood hypocrite "

I actually like the man as a human being. There's nothing false about him that I can detect.

I never believed her, especially because I can spot a liar a mile away and grew up in domestic violence with my mother as the abuser, but I'm in my mid 50s, never a huge Depp fan, loved Gilbert grape, but this trial has made me see and feel that he's a truly sensitive human being and was dealing with a monster and I pray he gets justice and his name cleared.

This case is %100 of my life I lived for more than 15 years. I am watching this my jaws dropped, only thing is that I didn’t have any witnesses or proof to prove when she filed restraining order after finding out about her infidelity and all and she acted like a saint in front of other people but a pure evil behind the doors. She was also a chameleon with very low self esteem, I remember her fighting with me why I wasn’t jelous of her. I didn’t know anything about Narcissism or BPD. I was just blind.

He was already addicted, she was addicted. She young/ child free. He was hooked. At the time Johnny was already 45/46 when they filmed Rum Diary. She was like 24/25 ish.

@@charlottemarie59 It took me TWO years to have my own full voice with my current boyfriend. Even after him constantly telling me it was safe to speak up for myself. More often than not, abusers don’t have their own voice and they certainly don’t have a very loud, aggressive voice. There is literal audio proof that she hit him AND a whole different audio of her begging him to tell people it was a fair fight. She’s a manipulative narcissist.

I had same thought. The abuse he suffered at hands of his Mother as a child set him up for further abuse by Amber. I hope and pray he gets the help he needs to heal and can somehow find true love he deserves. As for Amber, I hope she wakes up and gets help so she can no longer abuse people. She threw away a man who loved her and only wished to see her happy. Sad all the way around really.

Unlike Johnny, I never self-medicated and I don’t have a volatile temper so I don’t do stupid crap in a hotel rooms, I am way more self controlled. but I have been in relationships with people like Amber and I can see the abuser in her easily, nobody is beautiful enough to put up with that level of drama. I'm so glad the jury had access to this exchange. It proves that Johnny wasn't the abuser... she was hurling insults and profanities and such horrific soul crushing barbs and he just tried to ignore her. He's so acclimated to the abuse that the only time he responded with anything but numbness was when she mentioned his child.
I find it odd how all the recordings of her are venomous and hateful, yet in text she conveys herself as calm and "scared"

Yes. You're absolutely right. After being in a horrible abusive relationship, the thought of seeing him scared the hell out of me. I still have nightmares! If I see a man that looks similar, my heart stops! She is very relaxed and sure of herself.
That is the ultimate form of her abuse... You have to understand the form of manipulation these people put on you. It goes beyond mere words. Her saying all those things about his manhood and his children--they are designed to degrade him... They abuse you for so long and do it in such a way that you are convinced it's somehow your fault--because in their mind it is your fault!
I remember my ex used to do this until she got good and worked up and then she would throw things at me until she hit me and I bled. And then she would say, "look what you made me do!" or even "why is your skin so weak?!"
It's never their fault. They are never wrong.

Juxtaposing his testimony to her’s, it comes across authentic and genuine. There are times where he isn’t sure and proceeds to refresh his memory like a normal person would. While Mrs. Heard often speaks with great confidence for nearly every situation that was brought up. I’m not a lawyer or behavior expert but it feels so obvious to me that she is lying. I dated someone like her in high school and this has brought back so many awful memories.
Just pointing out that you’re having predisposed feelings over what you’re seeing, clouding your judgement. It’s called projection and predisposition. We all do it. When we experience something bad or unwanted in the past, our mind categorizes it and tries to protect us again and our mind regularly seeks to see patterns, so when someone reminds you of this EX, you’re gonna see the new person with a bit of a filter on. It makes having an objective clear perspective very hard. To get past this, you gotta recognize that the new person ur seeing isn’t the old person, they’re two different people, and even if they remind you, you gotta look at a multitude of things like - how well do you personally know this new person? Are your judgements accurate based on what you’ve personally seen and heard and experienced from the new person or are your judgements faulty because you’re placing a projection on them from old wounds to protect yourself from possibly getting hurt again? You have to look at context … age … involvement of different parties…. And even allowing the grace of giving the benefit of the doubt too. Many of us just bypass these things and just immediately form an opinion based on projections we put on people from our past. And that’s what’s happening with all these people watching these two. Maybe 1% of these commenters (in total - of all opinionated comments on all videos) have met these people in real life and even still, even if they were our best friends; we never know what happens inside a relationship. When you add in mental health issues and addiction issues, you start to see a multitude of different sides of personalities coming out of a person. Unless we see something with our own eyes, we cannot be confident with judgements. The closest we can get is taking all different perspectives into consideration, and then making our most logical conclusion, separate from how it may trigger past projections, and even still - there needs to still be room and space to be potentially wrong since the event we are to be judging we haven’t see personally. I find too many people are doing none of this - just becoming triggered and passing judgement based off of projection. It’s so sad to me.

My state of WV is a one party consent state, meaning that only one party has to consent to a conversation for it to be recorded. I wouldn't have it any other way. If someone doesn't want to be held accountable for something they said to my face, then they ought not to say it in the first place.
Also, I don't know why anyone who believes Johnny would disapprove of these consent laws, because if it wasn't for these laws, we also wouldn't have the audio recording of Amber admitting that she repeatedly hit Johnny.
@@Shane-hp2mv I'm Not a lawyer, but I don't think it matters whether or not the recording is on private property or public, as all these laws tend to based on who is present rather than where the conversation takes place. For example, in my state, as long as one person is present and consents to the recording, then they can record without fear of penalty. Now, you can't come into someone's home and then leave a recording device there, but you are free to record any conversation you are a part of.
Arguments and disagreements between spouses are one thing, but a partner bringing up children into the discussion and DISRESPECTING them in any way crosses the line. If anyone ever said anything negative about my child, they would be forever dead to me. It's that simple.

I think she knew every time he recorded, but I'm not 100 percent sure. She acknowledges in several of them that he's recording. Also, which ones are for the counselor and which aren't I'm not sure about. I can't watch the trial live, so I don't know if they even say which ones are which.

She would lie to his face and say she never said anything that bad to him. So he started recording her, which he told her he was going to do so he could play her own words back to her. Their therapist also agreed recordings by both of them could be a helpful tool in working through their arguments. But Scamber Turd began settings him up and recording without his knowledge or consent.

I know women that have gone through abuse and I also have known men have gone through abuse but this trial literally is describing the abuse that I went through physically and emotionally and my ex is the exact same diagnosis is Amber. I have a male family member who was severely abused by his wife and her mother, leaving him severely traumatised, more men need to admit and seek help regarding this matter as you have, thank you for putting it out there.
My ex also suffers from borderline and yes it is extremely jarring to watch this, brings back so many pointless impossible fights. The stress of dealing with that endless cycle is enough to make you totally lose yourself, it's quite scary looking back.
