I'm currently at the late paragon tanky part of the build, what's the difference between this build and the speedfarm build? Which one will I want to use for the majority of the game for infernal hordes, nightmare dungeons, etc? Thank you!
Hey Nick. Been following your build posts for a couple of seasons now and really appreciate your choices and clarity of explanation. I am in T4 with the Quill Volley build and crushing almost everything in the game in seconds (except Andariel - still struggling with the fight mechanics a bit). A few questions ... 1) On the Sapping paragon board, why Menagerist as opposed to Hubris? I am using the latter and it gives me a few more max resource points 2) I am experimenting with shelving Ebewaka in favor of a Legendary helm with massive max resource. Along with a good Kepeleke max resource roll and the various other max resource buffs I am at about 250 max resource even without a Resourcefulness potion. I have a 50% Midnight Sun ring. I have a 60% Talisman. Nevertheless I still sometimes see the resource globe filling gradually (about 0.5s from 0 to max) instead of staying at max and kind of flickering as it empties and fills, which indicates optimal performance. Any thoughts about why this might be happening? 3) resource gen vs resource cost reduction on the legendary ring. Seems to me that RCR is contrary to the goal of meeting the Talisman requirements as each cast of quill volley costs less so you have a higher bar to reach. Why RCR vs RG? 4) how to quantify the Que rune Barrier. Iirc the Druid Earthen Bulwark is something like 35% max life but it’s been awhile. Is it the same here? Thanks!
Hoping in the next vid there is much more insight with what to do if you don’t have a GA Rod, which is super hard to get. That seems to be what makes this 240 “easy to obtain”, but the transition from a starter / mid game build to this is really quite confusing.
If you dont have GA Rod of Kepeleke....You need 240 Vigor (235 if you have 3 points in balance exertion passive): you have 100 base vigor, you get 30 from spiritual attunement passive, 20 from magical nodes and 12 from two rare nodes from the sapping paragonboard, if you hit the requirement of 435 strength, you get additonal 4 Vigor from one of the rare nodes. So we are now at 162 Vigor and need only 73 more...the Menagerist Glyph slotted into the Sapping paragonboard socket buffes the magic nodes. My Menagerist Glyph is at Lvl 80 and it buffes the magic nodes from 4 vigor to 13 vigor. so thats additional 27 vigor (there are 3 magical nodes in range, 3x9=27). Now we need 46 vigor. Maybe you masterworked your Rod of Kepeleke to 8/12 and hit Max Resource twice. thats another 14-36 vigor, depending on your rolls. now you can use Elixir of Resourcefulness II for another 25 vigor. if you are still not at 240 /235 vigor, you can use Thibauts Will and Harlequins Crest. If you are still not at 240/235 Vigor, you can use the hubrisglyph instead of the menageristglyph. the hubrisglyph gives 5% more to the magic nodes. If you have a low paragonlvl, you should use the earlier version of the quill volley guide with the aspect of the unyielding hits and stacking armor and dont play the banished lord´s talisman. the talisman works only with 240/235 vigor. Sorry for my bad english and the wall of text. I hope i could help you. Greetings from a 47 year old gamer from germany :-)
@@MegaBiertrinker +25 from resourcefulness elixir pretty much carries it - in addition to tibaults will / shako if you want to supplement with that. It's very easy to reach 240 if you don't have a GA max rod - hence the timestamp talking about 240 vigor.
If im not wrong, having any form of resource cost reduction eg affixes and elixir will mess up your banished lord setup as it reduces your quill vigor cost. I had mine at 0 vigor cost which made it not working with 240 vigor.
Very nice guide thx a lot! I was very lucky and found Tyrael's Might. I dont know if it makes sense to use it in this build? Which aspect could i avoid for it? 🙂
Ive followed your End Game build exactly and im loving it, but how exactly have you gotten 100% vigour generation? Im sitting at 50% with ravager actively and bouncing between 35-275. Could you update the guide to explain as i have followed it exactly as described, thanks! Edit: using the shroud fixed this issue for me.
This build is legit. I was following the maxroll guide until this morning. That one is really good too. I was armor/res capped using tyreals. My crits were normally 200-500 mil. I switched to this build about an hour ago. Now I'm seeing 500-900 mil crits with the occasional 1.4-1.5 bil crits. Everything in T4 just gets melted. Not even close to res capped but it doesn't matter because everything dies so fast you barely take damage. My chest is even 750 ilvl because I didn't have an 800 that would work. Literally don't even notice. Which means there's only room for improvement. I am currently using tibault's because my max vigor was only 211 without it. I expect I can swap them out once I get the masterworking to hit right on the staff. Thanks dude! Nice work!
Note that 2.0.3 hotfix sorted Kepeleke so that chance to cast Quill Volley twice is now working. This is a huge buff for this spec, which was already one of the strongest specs there is
Sadly enough they also silent nerfed kepeleke not counting the quill vigor (35) and now we need 275 vigor to make it work, so we basicly lose another aspect.
@@brooksrobinson7246 Don't even need GA on rod tbh since you can supplement resource in multiple ways. I actually made a brand new spiritborn to set it up with very shit gear and if you know HOW you're able to do it pretty easily. Maybe I shoudl make a dedicated video on that lol

I really appreciate all your help... but at like level 200 what should I be following? Can you post this paragon board somewhere? Thanks!
Hi Nick great content. For some reason your late game Shroud build (Quill volley) is slower to kill some monsters than your early game version. For instance, I can pretty much kill Duriel, Varshan, Zir within 3 seconds with your early paragon build on Torment 4 without the Shroud, but when I use your late game Shroud version, the damage is enormous and can hit for billions but its not killing some of the bosses and even on Pit 100, some monsters seem resistant to the high damage which does not kill off some of the low level monsters and I have to spam Hunter a few times to kill these low level monsters and also the bosses. I do not know why your late game Shroud has this high damage but slower kill effect. I have tried other builds such as Mekuna's Regular mystic circle build using the Shroud and this build doesn't have any lag and kills the monsters quickly as per your low paragon build. Could this be a Paragon Board choice issue? I also prefer not to use mystic circle. Do you have a Shroud build that solves the slower kill problem that I am currently experiencing? Thanks if you can comment.
All I want to know is: 1. How many times has he tempered his items to triple crit all Resolve Stacks? 2. Did he use the Infernal Hordes exploit to farm that many Tempering material, because I can't imagine how he did it otherwise?
My chest for triple took 100+ attempts. My other 2 items were less than 15 each. The bottleneck actually wasnt obducite, I had a lot of obducite from doing infernal hordes natty and NMDs when testing stuff etc. The bottleneck was rawhide and that was super annoying. If your item hits 2 masterwork crits on resolve then I'd just finish it to 12/12 and ignore where the 3rd goes. 9 stacks is good enough.

Awesome video man. Thanks for sharing. Cant wait to try this. 😊
Finally a build where it's thorough u have a new subscriber yo! Gonna make tweaks to mine inline with yours
I see a Nicolas build, I build it. Always my favorite D4 builds every season!
your the only streamer that clearly explain the banished lord works.
Problem I'm having is finding legendaries... uniques are stupid easy and now you cant find any legendaries. Very frustrating... I would rather they half the unique drops at add the legendary drops back to bosses
For real finding even ancestral legendary gear is crauy hard but having the right stats is almost impossible because there is like a 1 in 30 drop rate. And you cant trade anything because the shit is stupid expensive. Everyone wants like billions of gold for 1 ga chestplate like im some kind of chinese bot farmer
Helltides are good for this.
Then you finally get a good GA legendary only to brick it even with a scroll 😂
Honestly just play more. Use a red opal. It is really not that hard

Great guide! Thanks for all you do. One question for clarity, and I apologize if I missed it but why use the Colossal glyph? It increases damage of Gorilla skills but the only Gorilla skill we have on the bar is armored hide. If Gorilla is your secondary spirit, does Colossal do anything? Thanks in advance for any response that clears this up for me.
this build is the "pit 150" one from mobylytics in your link section?
I'm sure its min/max perfected I just wanna ask:
1. what happened to Rebounding aspect ? no longer viable ?
2. Harmony of Ebewaka?
3. And I'd like to hear serious oppinions about Rakanoth's Wake boots I'm currently using, they provide movement, cd red, tons of ressistance (with star 52% to all res), and alot of damage 75% to damage (without star), and unique effect aint that bad either dealing 780fire dam whenever i use skill on cd.
Thank you for the very clear and concise build guide! I played in beta, S0, S1, and S2, but never got very far, and this is the first character i'm aiming to get to paragon 300. I'm currently at the late paragon tanky part of the build, what's the difference between this build and the speedfarm build? Which one will I want to use for the majority of the game for infernal hordes, nightmare dungeons, etc? Thank you!
I love that it says you can get rawhide from cellars. I did one and it gave me 1....good stuff
my thoughts exactly
Thanks bro, just about to watch this but this is what I've been waiting for.
Just done paragon 242 and all 5 glyphs upto lvl 100. I can see dmg around 95 100+ billion per hit. Its madness with this Shroud armor
I am using the latter and it gives me a few more max resource points
2) I am experimenting with shelving Ebewaka in favor of a Legendary helm with massive max resource.
Thanks!
GODLIKE thanks man
Hoping in the next vid there is much more insight with what to do if you don’t have a GA Rod, which is super hard to get.
That seems to be what makes this 240 “easy to obtain”, but the transition from a starter / mid game build to this is really quite confusing.
Agreed
@@MegaBiertrinker Thank you so much, your breakdown really helped me out a lot with my Vigor issue!
If im not wrong, having any form of resource cost reduction eg affixes and elixir will mess up your banished lord setup as it reduces your quill vigor cost. I had mine at 0 vigor cost which made it not working with 240 vigor.
I LOVE TIME STAMPS, THANK YOU!!!
Awesome! Thanks Nick!
Hey mate appreciated for all your works, have you ever compare resolve vs resilient?
Best build and D4 theory master, keep it up, what is the second best alt after this - thank u!!
I know it isn't "meta" but I absolutely love poisoning stuff and the CC is just fun tbh.
Thanks for the great tips,👍🏻.
Thanks for deep guide this build. I tryb this today. I m very exiting
Awesome video, thanks a lot!
Awesome thanks for the tips!
love you❤. i use your guide & its amazing
Ill never have your gear but ive done pit 115 so far and im happy with that xD
thanks for the guide! after getting all glyphs to 46 which should i focus on maxing out first?
Very nice guide thx a lot! I was very lucky and found Tyrael's Might. I dont know if it makes sense to use it in this build? Which aspect could i avoid for it? 🙂
I'm sticking with my kiss of death followed by a trip to poison pound town. It's not as powerful but I love it.
Great work, really appreciate the tanky variation. Any chance you will make a guide for Crushing Fist speedfarming?
Nice work!
thank u a lot thats incredible it works fine
Good Job Nick. Are u gonna playing too Rogue in this Season? Would be nice.
Great build breakdown. I have a question, would the lord talisman work with a Touch of Death build as well?
Amazing build but If haven’t watched just know you need several very specific pieces of unique gear with GA to make it work
The only required GA is max resource on the Rod I think the rest can come after
@@brooksrobinson7246 Don't even need GA on rod tbh since you can supplement resource in multiple ways. I actually made a brand new spiritborn to set it up with very shit gear and if you know HOW you're able to do it pretty easily. Maybe I shoudl make a dedicated video on that lol
@@NickTew I’d have to go back and watch again but I thought when you were pointing out the Uniques that you mentioned some stats that needed to be GA to really make it work, my mistake if not
@@NickTew please do!
Unless you have 85 percent vortex which is huge it pretty much sucks them from clear across the screen. I went with the orange quill build but use harlequin with its great cooldown so you are jaguar jumping continuously and shadow of death mythic and it is good enough for me.
killing enemys garanties u 40% chance to reset jaguar cd, so u dont need cd reduction.
Even without the full vigor, I am absolutely smashing T3 content. With potion I'm at 221 vigor
Hey man! I really appreciate the guides that u put out for us, and the time u invest in doing so, and I watch a lot of your vids, but that website that has the build link, is by far the trashiest website I’ve ever seen, u can’t look at the paragon board without it kicking u to an offsite, so I have no way of seeing the board
I've been waiting my whole life for this video. Thanks Nick
Notification gang wya
Currently hovering over Viscous Shield on the Paragon Board and it’s completely different than the website you linked to.
thanks Nick
Pro tip for us controller simpletons, if you place Armored Hide and Ravager on the triggers, you can just hold them down and never miss a cooldown…
I've looked at your quill volley paragon boards and don't see anything that you've posted with this build. Also, early end game is different significantly on 2 of your builds. I really appreciate all your help... but at like level 200 what should I be following? Can you post this paragon board somewhere? Thanks!
You can add the comparison tables, the ones you published are different.
I love builds that say "Okay, first - don't get ANY mythics."
What mythics works with this build or which would work best
@nicktew perfect a crushing hand build please and thanks
yeah i'm looking forward to that too. It seems easier to play, despite it having a little less dps.
All I want to know is:
1. How many times has he tempered his items to triple crit all Resolve Stacks?
2. Did he use the Infernal Hordes exploit to farm that many Tempering material, because I can't imagine how he did it otherwise?
Infernal hordes mats farm is patched this week I believe
I'm talking about pre-patch.
@exxuto you know he did. It's impossible in the current state of the game with how expensive masterworking is to get gear perfected like that.
@@OceanD4wrong just play the game you will get 10k mats easy
My chest for triple took 100+ attempts. My other 2 items were less than 15 each. The bottleneck actually wasnt obducite, I had a lot of obducite from doing infernal hordes natty and NMDs when testing stuff etc. The bottleneck was rawhide and that was super annoying. If your item hits 2 masterwork crits on resolve then I'd just finish it to 12/12 and ignore where the 3rd goes. 9 stacks is good enough.
super build!
Can you do a video going over the Shroud of False Death version? That would be dope!
Hello nick, longtime watcher, first time commenter. Where would you put the last paragon points for these builds. I’m almost 230 paragon following your early endgame board but it shows 74 points still needed?
Nick you're awesome.
Great guide. Sub and like deployed
seems like a cool build, but i m really more interested in the crushing hand variation of it.
Thanks!
I've been following the dark shroud guide to a T for gear stats and my damge is only getting to the 10-20 trillions
I cant figured out what I'm doing wrong!
I may have to try this, using the maxroll build with the shell chest and it's awesome but a nightmare because I'm so squishy.
Great video but now there is that Mystic circle build that’s even a step up. I can’t win , I did this build with my crappy gear in pit 123 then did mystic with
Bad tempers and masterwork and did 125 pit ez… the builds never end !
mystic circle is memes for only pit 150 and if you have giga perfect gear for attack speed breakpoints - dw about it
After i swapped to the late game tanky build fun just started for me. Before my pi maks was 52 now its 60 and i am going higher. Just waiting to get the last runes then i swap to The Shroud versin
I have followed your BD(I have 285 paragon point, 3.0x weapon, 40% resource regen, 265 max resource, all gears +12), the difference is that I have 11.5K health in town with no buff, 28 rank Resolve, +11 resilience. I have 48% at redirected force and 80% at moonrise, 12% at Interdiction. But I am doing only 3T-5T max while u do 100T+, that's like 5% to your damage. Please help
try Ring of the starless skies for the 3rd ring. giving 50% resources cost reduction and 50x damage increase
they just dropped an update that made every enemy on a pit have the INCRISED HEALT affix and if you dont have a youtube build just forget about trying to defeat a boss. i was grinding tear 90 last night and the time is now doubled.
