Keep it up, I’m from Florida/ originally from Puertorico and I’m considering moving for a better life and school. Your videos are extremely helpful
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words!
ROAD CONSTRUCTION!!!! Have you been to Wichita?? Our biggest crop is orange cones.
Oh yeah that is also a thing! Haha
Navigating manhattan in the summer is like a doing maze that always changes 😂
I was stationed at Fort Riley in 89-92. Every Thursday we would hit Rock a Belli Deli in Aggieville and I adored Manhattan. There was a great place out by Tuttle Creek that had live music that may have been called Tuttle Creek inn but it was big and again lotta fun for us single guys at least. The fact that your so close to Lawerence and 2 hours to KC may have driven real estate up but like you said Manhattan is gonna attract people with the means to afford it and much cheaper then most big cities. I think the best thing you listed are things for kids/ young adults in high school because not everyone fishes or hunts. I was saddened to hear the tornado about 20 years ago wiped out a lot of places I remembered and heard Last Chance Saloon closed or was damaged and sold. Great video and cool you being in real estate are this honest. ☮️
Thank you for the kind words! I hope you enjoy all of these videos!
I was at Riley 1991 -93 . Couldn't wait to ETS . Too much small town America for me . Thank you for your service 👍
@@ericbothur6718 I get it but we didn’t hang around. We would go to Denver one weekend, Kansas City or just drive without plans and ended up the funnest times of my life. Except prior to us leaving for the war we were always in the field which sucked. But even then we were outsiders amongst the lifers. We took the best food and alcohol and I’m sure it seemed ill advised but damn we had fun. My point was it probably wasn’t Kansas so much as the people your with day in and out. One day about 4 of our section mates had left for good and in its place were real nerds. Strictly military. And I realized for the first time in 3 years I was in the Army. Before hand it never seemed like it cuz we were so close. Then Kansas seemed like the way you described it. Weird. 😎 take care.
@@littlewing6231 Thank you for telling us this. We have truly enjoyed it here. I hope you give it a chance at one point again.
Thank you for your videos!
Absolutely! Thank you for watching!
lol, if your first complaint is road construction, man dude, road construction is in every city you live in/go to. As far as Ft Riley, it’s not every day and only on training days. You make it sound like it’s a daily thing. I agree with the cost of living and the adult places to hang out at. For family activities, there is the pools, Zoo, Linear Trail, the Konza Prairie, bowling, parks, camping and Fishing, museums, the Discovery Center, the water park but agree that there needs to be more.
Oh I would agree with you. That was the point of the video. It really isn't that bad
You should live in Rockford I'll. Road construction here to
I believe it. It is still crazy here. They closed down 3 main roads this year right before the students came back. Makes no sense at all.
Moving for college this year. What can I expect coming all the way from Ireland?
I have never been to Ireland. But in what manner are you mean? There are going to be some differences for sure
@@LivinginManhattanKansasas a student what can I expect. Is the party scene good. Or is it quieter. And is there things to do for 21 year olds?
@@BenJohnston-g3x I would say that we have a pretty good party scene. Not as great as some other towns. But we have a bar district called Aggieville. That is where most of the action goes down. I would say that is a good spot to be. Other than that it depends on where you want to be here.
@@LivinginManhattanKansasanother question. How accessible are grocery stores to k state campus, I won’t have a car?
@@BenJohnston-g3x you should be good to go. There are a couple of them

Thank you putting these together! I didn't forget I just didn't want to have a two hour long video! Haha
Love your videos - knew about Manhattan, Ks but I did not realize this town to be so beautiful 🎉
Thank you! We love it here!
Family activities : there's an ice skating rink in city park in the winter, there's also Zipline on k-18 across from Pillsbury drive behind GrandOlTrunk, parades, festivals every month hosted by Downtown, Music Scene, Aggieville, and surrounding sororities and frats,
Adult Activities : you're lying about live music. Since covid mandates were lifted, the live music scene woke back up in Auntie Mae's, Finn's, the Hat, Yard Bar, Arts in the Park, and the new venue AG Press. There's also Ax Throwing, Oktoberfest, MidfestMHK, and if you come early and stay late, Latin Dance night at Tates. Manhattan Ballroom also hosts walk-in workshops in the weekends. Pain and Sip.
It's kinda sad that you're missing a lot of the entertainment that this town offers. Keep in mind I've excluded K-state-related events since not everybody's a Wildcat fan. I've lived here since 2013, and have seen how much and how fast things have changed throughout the years.
Go on Facebook for the events, look at the city websites, or find the flyers at the local library. You'd be surprised and how active this town is.
Tiffany I would definitely agree! Things have definitely picked up for sure! When I made this video we were still pretty shut down. But yes these are all great activities for families!
what about the museums, the zoo, the lake, there is a lot for kids to do
Yes I would agree with you on that. The reason those didn't get mentioned is because those are one time things typically
I watched enough of this video to turn it off and share my disdain of what has become of my hometown. Manhattan was a wonderful place before Ritchie Rich decided that it didn't suit the needs of people MOVING here. No one thought to include, discuss or ask what the people from Manhattan might think, say or answer. Surveys and research were done but did it really matter? What is the need for not one but two parking garages in such a compact area?! We're in Kansas, People! We're used to a blue skyline!
There is definitely a lot of growth happening. And unfortunately the things that happen aren't always the best. But the core of the people are the same.
It confuses the local people roundabout diverging diamond. WTF
Haha yeah the roundabouts are definitely a hot topic in this town!
I liked Kansas in the beginning but later not good place to live at all.
I am sorry to hear that. What changed for you?
