- Sunset Zoo, also known as Sunset Zoological Park, is the city zoo of Manhattan, Kansas, and is home to over 300 animals representing more than 100 species.

It's a lovely zoo, they keep it looking it's best. You saw the staff cleaning the habitats during my tour. The new area really looks fantastic.

It really is, for a smaller zoo they have designed the different area's amazingly well.
Hey Tom, about the amusement park from last video, you rode a dark ride which was about shooting stuff and it was called meow wolf’s kaleidoscape. But I’ve heard meow wolf has a lot of attractions in the U.S. Especially Omega Mart at Las Vegas. If you didn’t know, it is like an art exhibit that acts like a normal supermarket. All the items are buyable but it’s weird items. And there’s secret rooms like going through a fridge or secret doors. There is a lot of lore in that place and it looks very interesting that you should try and go to it.
I honestly had no idea what the whole ride was about before going on it. Interesting that it's also in Las Vegas, sounds like the weird type of place I would enjoy 😁 Thanks for sharing that info, if I ever get back to Vegas, I'll check that place out.
That tiger enclosure looks terrible. Space wise it's ok, but it's all grass. It looks like a soccer field or someones front yard, not a enclosure fit for a rainforest dwelling great cat. They really need to add more bushes, scrubs, rocks, logs and trees. Same for the amur leopard enclosure.
Their older enclosures look much better because they're more natural. Newer isn't always better.
While it is spacious, I do agree it should have more of the stuff you mentioned. As it's a brand new area perhaps it will improve with a little bit of time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Have you thought about mentioning your concerns with the zoo?

How are you man? I noticed that most of the other viewers don`t tend to ask how you are in general. But to me, your well-being is very important, perhaps as much if not more than the content itself. And not just for you, that goes with all the content creators i follow on social media.
Anyway, this was a very nice Zoo. Not huge, but sometimes the smaller ones are the best ones, especially if supported by the community, which this one clearly is! Lots of very nice habitats, a few i`m not fond of but i`m confident they`ll improve them since most of the habitats are newer ones. I think my favourite area was African Trail, my favourite animal at this Zoo being the spotted hyenas. (10:03). The landscape of the Zoo was fantastic as well.
Alright Tom, i only have a few time stamps for you today. Perhaps as a result of the size of the Zoo, i just didn`t have a lot i wanted to say or anything that was worthy of a time stamp if you catch my drift. So this will be a shorter comment than usual for me, Tom. Let`s get it:
1:49: I had a feeling we`d see others on the re-walk as these are very social animals. I wonder where the other two were the first time around?
3:11: I had a good chuckle at this part, but yes he was establishing dominance.
6:20: Box turtles do burrow sometimes, so either that or he`s hiding amongst the vegetation or under the rocks seen in this enclosure. They are not big animals as you mentioned on the re-walk so he or she can hide very easily. At least we saw 2/3 of the animals in here though.
9:45: Such beautiful animals. Unfortunately, in the wild they often get their kills stolen from larger and stronger predators such as lions, hyenas, African Painted Dogs etc... The cheetah`s speed can sometimes become it`s weakness, because it`s lightweight, it`s not as strong as something like a lion.
11:48: See, i`m not a massive fan of this habitat, Amur Leopard habitat or the bobcat habitat. The first two need more to do, to climb on, make it look more natural and the bobcat needs an expansion, which is hopefully in their plans. All very beautiful animals though, thought the bobcat as a no-show.
13:20: I enjoyed watching these two play around, very rough play compared to what me and my brothers used to do when we were younger lol, that`s for sure.
34:20: Yep, the males grow those in breeding season, then they fall off afterwards. Good observation Tom.

The Black and White Coumbus Monkey are beautiful animals, I love their long tails. The others were inside or hiding the first time through.
There was a little girl at the chimpanzee habitat, the young male charged at the glass near her.
Yeah, I figured the box turtles were buried, plus they tend to be on the smaller side so harder to spot.
I read on the zoo's website that they have a master plan. Hopefully the new areas will include new habitats for the cheetah.
I had another commenter mention their dislike of the new habitats for the Amur Tiger and Leopard. I do agree they need to add more to it for the animals to do. Perhaps some rocks and shrubs and more trees. Hopefully they will improve with time. You can see the zoo gets support from the community; it just needs some tweaking.
Those sun bear were fun to watch playing, they are SO FUZZY.

@@TomsRoadTrippin Yeah Tom, i`ve been busy as well with work, and recently school as well, luckily not a ton of homework yet. Yeah, black and white colobus monkeys are some of my favourite monkeys to see on your channel (if you wanna talk about apes that`s different, that title would belong to the gorillas).

Yeah, the bears were fun to watch, one of the smaller species of bear. Still very dangerous though if you don`t respect them, i personally respect all animals, as i know you do too Tom.

The zoo still has a few smaller animals in the lower habitats. They are working on creating new area's for them. Thank You for identifying the deer.

Yeah animals don't worry about stuff like we humans do. It's awkward to see it, especially with young kid's 😳

They were in the back sleeping most likely. It's up to the animals if they want to stay in their evening habitats or be outside. I guess they we're feeling lazy 😊
