The Escalade and Denali both look great and are nicely loaded, but felt sluggish off the line (GM’s tuning for mpg). I wanted the navigator but didn’t want to wait 18 weeks for delivery.

There are some things about it you only learn after owning it for a little while that are just fucking irritating. I feel these are overpriced by about $15k.
Having driven the higher end Tahoe $250k+ armored Variant for years I prefer the F150 and expedition dash. The center console is much smaller than the F150 I am driving now. Even with the vault option in my console I have much more room in my console. OnStar is the breaking point for me. I refuse to pay monthly to use options in a vehicle I have already bought.
I dont know why they used the same dash from the f150. The f150 dashboard design doesn't match with the other parts like the exterior and the interior apart from the dash. It would be nice for ford to design the dash to be different from the f150 and to match with all the other components of the expedition.
@Ike N You are right about that, but what I'm trying to point out is that the superduty p558 dash doesn't match with the rest of the expedition design like the exterior and the interior.

As a owner of a 2020 platinum, I say if you are really looking for a Expedition, I would not buy the platinum, I would get a lower trim because not much changes when you go from a XLT to a limited for say. But overall they are very good trucks.
2021 Escalades in Basic Luxury trim go for $85K still with all the important features and Incredibly beautiful interiors with a diesel option at no additional cost! Expeditions have truck interiors! No comparison.
My main concern is what’s under the hood. I had a Ford Ranger for 19 years, and I still have the Suburban that I bought new 24 years ago. Would anything with a turbo last that long without expensive repair? I also bought a new GMC Sierra Denali Crew Cab P/U 6 years ago, it runs perfect and gets 23 mpg on long road trips. I will stick with naturally aspirated V-8 engines and 2WD as long as possible.
Beautiful truck! But You can get into a 2021 GMC Yukon Denali for the same money which has a more luxurious interior with a BEASTLY 6.2L V8!! They say GM is the only manufacturer that overprices vehicles. Lol. No sir! Ford, this _must_ be a joke!
Frank Crooker Lol. You post the same comment under any and everyone who sees Ford’s inability to compete with GM head on. Why does Ford’s brand new SUVs have outdated interiors, that are cheaply built, with poor quality and attention to detail? They’ve rushed the Lincoln Navigator, Lincoln Aviator, Ford Expedition, and Ford Explorer. Lol. Now they have to all undergo another rushed emergency refresh just to be somewhat comparable to GM’s SUVs. Ford is a joke.
Miton White Lol. That’s because the Ford Explorer is the *only* mid-sized SUV the company offers and it sold 184k units last year. The Chevrolet Traverse sold 147k alone, but when you add in Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia sales for the same year GM outsells Ford in this segment as well. 😂
If you want a 9200lb tow capacity in a SUV built on a truck frame with a luxurious high tech interior that can comfortable carry and keep productive 4-7 people with several large dogs...and drive cross country across various terrain and in different weather while potentially lasting 15-20yrs...there isn't many options. 2020 model has worked through most of the issues in the 2018 redesign.
I have a 2009 and have had a few other expeditions , great vehicles but 85k is way over my price point , give me a 5.0 v8 option and normal power accessories for around 42k and I'm all in .

I'm not a fan of the new shifters where you just turn a dial to shift gears, although I understand how they can often save space. Those large buttons totally defeat the purpose of saving room by using it when they could have just had a regular shift lever.

I hope the Ford Expedition with offered a 3.0L powerstroke turbo diesel v6 for the 2021 model year. Newcomers like the all-new 2021 Tahoe, Suburban & Yukon that have a diesel engine option, so it can compete in the segment. Also we can compare the Expedition king ranch vs the all-new Tahoe high country.
Very, very nice vehicle and great review. Once again, however - as with the 2019 version - it’s unfortunate that Ford didn’t match the cabin trim with the upholstery. I really like the ceramic-colored seats but definitely NOT the dark charcoal gray/black dashboard and door trim. It would’ve been much better to use a similar color for the trim as used for the seats i.e. ceramic or light sand-colored.
