I just wanted to let you know that going through these analysis in great detail is definitely not boring. Please don't be afraid of making long videos to educate people like myself on crazy possible lines whether its computer analysis or not. Were only going to learn more. I absolutely love play this hippo strategy. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! you know, whenever players use openings that have a specific set-up, i see them making the mistake of blitzing out every move. Something similar happens with white players using the Colle system and stuff like that. And the key also for the hippo is that black has to consider his moves carefully if it´s a long game. Yes, we know the set-up we´re going for but the real key is to react correctly to white´s moves, like in the first game where black realized it was better to already go for ...g5 instead of going for the automatic ...a6. Whenever i play it in long games, i waste a good amount of time in the opening and it´s usually worth it, almost every time.

Thank you a lot! it´s really good to know and it´s very nice to read such pleasant comment.
Thanks for the analysis. You very clearly show that the hippo is not just a gimmick. It's more like a giant trap for white to overextend its forces.

Thanks for sharing hippo defense.I love the hippo.
Thank you!
thank you, this is perfect, i play the hippo exclusively and you cleared up some conceptual ideas i had with your great explanation.
Very good video. I play the Hippo on the internet but I have also played it otb and even have a game of mine in Alessios' book.
Thank you!
Nice
Tnx!! For sharing.
Thanks for watching!
So...what was the result of the Kamsky-Svidler game please?
A draw: www.chessbox.in/chessgame/svidlerp-kamskyg-5/
@6:36, would D5 not save?
d5 is a good idea i didn´t come up with. I guess i would take the extra pawn anyway with d5...Qxh4 dxc6...Bxc6, but still d5 might be better than g3.
@@PauseTheVideoAndThink noticed that a continuation would threaten knight to f3 forking so still bad probably
No wonder Hikaru uses this so often
I found out about that through Levy Gotham chess in a video where he uses the Hippo to expose a cheater and he tells that it was Nakamura's recipe.
@@PauseTheVideoAndThink Hikaru crushes opponents with it lol.
