- Hey guys! This is the second video in my rental friendly upgrade series. You will see how I upgraded my ugly outdated countertops to a black and grey faux granite look using contact paper.

Looks really great!!! You should add some caulking around your sink, so no water gets under there and causes any lifting of the contact paper 😉

Suggestion: Caulk around the seams (i.e. Cuts and gaps) to avoid moisture seeping underneath the contact paper. Try getting the caulk that matches the color of the contact paper or use silicone instead.

You can also use simple green from Walmart for $1,99, to clean any surface area, it works really well. Great job, well done. Love yah 😘

I am getting ready to re do guest bathroom. Landlord said we cannot do anything to floor tiles. All else is good. Not sure if we can do counter w contact. I am worried w time it will not come off. We are putting in new faucet & light. ( Our choice).

I agree on the hairdryer would have made part 1 a lot easier. 3 questions: it's been 2 months per the time stamp, and how is all your hard work and $ spent, time investment holding up to the rigorous day-to-day of life; cooking, dishes? Q2: have or are you going to do the cabinets? Q3: Wayana I believe has done several renter friendly videos, had you watched her?

The look amazing! Question. Have you tried to remove a section to see how easy/hard it is? Can you do a video where you remove a small section of the paper? I’m really open to trying this, but I’m a little hesitant since I don’t know the removal process.
Just peel to undo folding and lift ..think of it as a big sticker. I don't suggest applying wall paper on a surface that's peeling or cracked because it might lift off when removing the wall paper. Other than that ur hood to go!

Is it water proof? And you did in awesome job it looks beautiful but if I were you I would make my cabinets black.
Did you use the hair dryer with every piece? Did you use the hair dryer with the fridge, and other appliances?
So I learned about the hairdryer trick unfortunately after I did the appliances. It would’ve been wayyyyy easier for me if I did use the hairdryer originally! Lol
Gorgeous! For the future, I came across a great video on how to warm and stretch the contact paper for a clean curve without cutting it on Artestion's channel. Check that out, it's such a great help! Still looks great, though! 👌☺

Nope! If i spill something on it, I just wipe it right up with no problems.... just like normal countertops.

Question do you overlap the paper when its two pieces or line them up perfectly? I can't even tell it looks so good!
You can overlap it.
Its more likely to lift and harder to clean regularly if u overlap, you'll want it to be one layer all over for the best results
I just lined them up! Since it is a pattern like this, you can barely tell honestly!
How does it feel?
It feels smooth like my original laminate countertops!
I am sorry dear... though u did do a very nice job , don't u think it would have been efficiently done better had u taken the time 2 measure and think out certain techniques so u don't have 2 work as we say double??? u would have saved so much more material if u would have done so...
