That was a breath of fresh air to see a couple working together.usually the woman is doing all the devor and the man is doing the building. Great job you guys. Very inspiring ☺️
The cabinets look really good. You both did a great job. May I recommend for next time or anyone wanting to do this: for those same type cabinets, place the centre piece first, then 4 separate strips to do the raised edges. It's easier to lay and you won't need that second person or the blow dryer as it will lay and fit perfectly.
Wouldn’t that be more work since you need to measure and cut perfectly? Also the “grain” design would be difficult trying to achieve them all vertically? Apologies if I’m misunderstanding your suggestion. I’m only here bc I’m going through the same thing.
@A B no worries, no need to apologize. Happy to help. Take a look at this ua-cam.com/video/c8ODSBlIJSY/v-deo.html, it will help. Also, if you look at the cupboard you have, if the are shaker, you may see the wood grain goes a different way as well. It wasn't a lot of work at all Much easier and more precise. After the first 2 the rest was a breeze
This right here is a life saver, me and my dad are looking at rental and he picked a potential one that (i'm not gonna lie) lacked a aesthetic in some areas (which isn't as important as finding a place to lay your head), but it's not a total dud and it's the only place we found within our budget with 2 rooms. That being said, since I plan to get more into DIYing to spend less, I'm hoping to use more peel and stick and other methods for the parts of the place that could use more TLC.
That's a great idea! Hope your found what you needed...What a way to "create" your own style that you can pick up and take with you if you ever decide to relocate 🤗!...physically and mentally (you'll always have ideas in your head when you look at a space now) I love channels like this one to get ideas on things to do to turn house to home - Good luck to you friend! - be safe and take care😎

The contact paper has the wood design on it.. I have the grey one it looks fantastic!! And this video was awesome!!! I did the bathroom now on to the kitchen!!
I just finished my kitchen and I used foam board to cover the cabinet doors and it gave it a smoother surface to cover with the contact paper...great job!
I just viewed my apartment im moving into and im going to do this ASAP !!🤣 my kitchen is so ugly i hate the brown and white Update: DO IT YALL ‼️my kitchen looks amazing 😍
Great job guys! Most videos I've seen for cabinets just use posterboard to cover the door indentations. This was so much more helpful and looks stunning! 🤩🤩🤩
I just did this for the first time. I have the same cabinet face and for me it was so hard to get in the grooves. I winded up taping foamboard to my cabinet face to make a smooth surface and they came out great! Yours look great too and good job on conquering the grooves ❤❤❤
Our house is a rental and we have these same exact cabinets and Ive been trying to figure out what I can do that would be renter friendly and you all just gave me that idea!!!! Thank you for this!!!!!! It looks amazing!!!!
Here because I’m doing this to my kitchen right now but in white and I need to watch someone else do it to keep me motivated 😂 The blow dryer hack is genius. I was going to cut around each of the bevels- so glad I didn’t! Your kitchen before looked JUST like mine too

This was very helpful. I have a log home and everything is wood. I wanted to brighten the kitchen without actually painting the wooden cabinets (in case I hate it). But like you, I have patterns on my doors and was trying to figure out how to cover them. Duh…a hair dryer! Also though. I may shape some wood strips to fill in the door design before coving the cabinets, giving it a simpler , flat look. Thanks!!
This is genius! It looks so sleek & pretty. Do you notice any problems, like seams showing, peeling or bubbles? It's so much easier than painting, and you can always switch back to wood easily if the styles change. No need to scrape paint off.
I have the same exact cabinets in my rental and I bought this exact paper but in white, I tried one door and UGH was so frustrated, you guys make it look so easy, I think I need to try the hairdryer method maybe that will help. You both did a great job, love the look now thinking maybe I should have bought the black lol
Yes! A disclaimer! We recently ordered the white paper for a China cabinet revamp and it was NOT as sticky as the black paper 🥴 the heat from the hair dryer does help it stretch and stick better though

Wow, you guys did an awesome job, I will be doing something similar but with a twist...I want the lower cabinets in the same black and the uppers in a much lighter wood grain colour. Thanks for the blow dryer idea
Ok, I'm sold, I'm convinced. I've seen enough of these videos that wallpapering my 2 shelving alcoves next to my fireplace is way easier & less messier than painting. I'm sold. *Now, what color and texture do I want?*
Im going to put foam board over the front of my cabinets to make them flat so the contact paper will go on smoother and easier. You just stick a piece of foam board on the front with double sided tape.
Thank you for the tip on how to work with the uneven edge and corners! I was searching you tube for a DIY like this because my cabinets are not flat or flush- but rather exactly like yours. PS. Your transformation turned out beautiful!
Beautiful job! I love it! Every time I try to do something with contact paper I make a big mess, and I end up throwing the paper away! Your kitchen cabinets look absolutely Fabulous!🙏🏽👍🏼
Thank you!! Great video, Ive been looking for something like this to rent out my Moms house since she has been nervous about renting it out with her newly finished cabinets!

It really looks great! But it looked like a lot of work (time). I think paint would have been faster. But if you are renting this is a fantastic solution! I love the black wood with the marble contact counter top.
I was wondering if you do dishwasher and fridge, what would you do with the stove? It will still be white? Just a thought..love the video. You two did an awsome job..l plan to do mine soon. Thank you.

We've recently uploaded a tutorial showing how we removed our peel and stick floors!

Very nice, well done! Do you think this type of paper can be used in bedroom furniture? There is vinyl and contact paper, are they the same? Thanks.
I was thinking about doing this for my trim and closet doors in my bedroom. Any thoughts?
How many rolls did you guys buy and where did you purchase from
Have you taken off the peel and sticks from the cabinets? That's what I'll probably have to do when I move out if I cover them.
@@mandyinseattle I saw videos of ppl removing them

What is amazing is that you do so much, and beautifully with a toddler trying to get your attention at the same time! You are a super couple!
The peel and stick backsplash would really finish the look! Great job!
