Trevor horn - up there with phil spector, brian wilson and gamble & huff as one of the all time great producers. The 'wall of sound' he created on tracks like this (and others in the 80s) was phenomenal
absolutely Jonathon! back in the day they were squeezing every last drop from the technology they had at their disposal, production was and still holds up to this day!
@@thundertick5666 And yet, here you are in 2022, commenting on this knobhead music that you claim to loathe. Probably you are rubbing your wet knobhead whilst excited over David.
Theresa is heart achingly beautiful in this performance, love the moody shots of her on the background video screen. How on earth did the song not even break the top 15 in the summer of 82? Mind boggling…
Trevor Horn in 1981... no Auto Tune, just a Fairlight, a pitchable Studer Multitrack Machine, Lexicon Reverb, Eventide and an SSL Console.... that's what is music production is all about... a genius !!!
Haha, you're right, no auto tune. Just the most expensive and capable sampler/sequencer available at the time, a pro studio level tape machine, the highest of high end reverb and harmoniser of the time and a super expensive desk made in Oxford. Not to take anything away from Horn but you make it sound like Horn was using really primitive equipment. 😀
@@LeighRichards27 Name calling aside, I think you misread the tone of my post. It was tongue in cheek. The original poster made a comment about how the song was 'just made with...' and then mentions (arguably) every piece of state of the art equipment that was available at the time. The fairlight in itself cost £30,000 for the 1982 version. It was just a fun comment about the technology that was available at the time. As I said, not to take nothing away from Trevor Horn as he did some amazing work with what was available, in the same way people today use the technology of today. Like it or not, Auto Tune included.

But when we hear the songs today, they conjure up memories of people and friends Or places for all of us and we all wish we could return to those years and that Dollar would be around as a group again. I am sooo love with Theresa Bazar !! God knows how many times I have watched this video now. An epic tune from Trevor Horn and brilliantly performed. If I had a Delorian Time Machine like Marty Mcfly it would be set to 1982 and I would go back and enjoy those happy times once again. Thank you for posting the video. David.
This song is no doubt dollar and Trevor horns high point! Incredible production, and still sounds awesome to this current day! So ahead of it's time in many ways...
Another song that NEVER gets played on any UK oldies radio station ! Why ? A big Trevor Horn production ! David Van Day, I like your hat. Thereza Bazar, stunningly beautiful and sexy !
Theresa always knew where the camera was..and may have looked as though she was just eye candy but she wrote most of Dollars hits and she was not only gorgeous but she could sing and was the brains behind this duo.
Yet another superb production from Trevor Horn. He was/still is the British Phil Spector, an instantly recognisable sound, full of trademark hooks. It should've been a much bigger hit and it is probably because once again he was ahead of the pack, and radio programmers didn't quite get it. So much going on and still imho an absolutely pure pop record.
@@darkbydesign1031 It's Top of the Pops you bellend. The idea was to promote the chart record and have it promoted exactly as the record sounded. If you want live, go look for a concert or something.

Great track, dollar`s best song for me others who slag this song off have no taste for what is good pop music like this is and Theresa looks sexy in this performance also.
Wow!!! Spine tingling stuff. Great song, phenomenal production plus the vastly underrated Dollar. Was there any more gorgeous popette in the late 70s early 80s than Thereza Bazar.
Pop music from a great era, the early eighties had all the energy and creativity, this act with trevor horn producing! Wow no other act has followed this fantastic duo, they had it all
Haven't heard this for 40 years although it's still there in my head. Listening again, I was a really good song. I'm averse to pop music, especially the mediocre stuff filling the charts now, but when done well it's great.
The prince & princess of pop, great songs with Trevor Horn production. Not cool to admit liking at the time, look and sound great 40 plus years later. Perfect for TOTP.
This is an absolute classic and it stands the test of time

You understand it man. So Spector-esque.
Yup. Compensated for her very very thin and limited vocals.
Therasa Bazaar was one of the top five hots from that era no problem.
Look how much Thereza loves David and in return how much David loves David
