I was born in 1982, but I remember hearing this song as a young child. This song stuck with me because I'm a native New Yorker💜🌃
This song stuck in my head too. But for me I was a child coming from rural North Carolina.

Ano em que minha amada filha nasceu. ❤️
I remember this song from my youth when my boss owned several night clubs in Far Rockaway New York in the 70's&80's!!..Best years of my young life!😊😮😂❤
Lovely memories 1977.
They were so regal, the epitome of elegance and class.. many of us were like that back then. They remind me so much of some of my relatives growing up then; all gone now.. mostof us were like this where i am from before the decline..

Me too. Nostalgic and sentimental.

EPIC TIMES
Yupps
When people used to look at YOU rather than their phone! When you could have an opinion without fear of what someone else would think about it.
True. But you are on it now and mobiles do have their uses.
No covid 19
This is a fitting tribute to all those New Yorkers ❤️❤️
I’m listening in 2024 , and still in love with Lillian
I've never been to New York (or even the us) but the way they sing this song makes me feel that I have. It evokes images of what I imagine the place to be like. If you can do that, then you are something special.
Interesting ! Me too. I'm from Brazil. Greetings.
I am a New Yorker, and it does catch the city vibe accurately.
Just can't stop listening 😢
What a sensational group never forgotten ❤❤❤
God, this brings back memories when there was still a real New York. Simpler, more joyful times with great music; people knew how to sing back then too, like these ladies.
Too funny, that what the previous generation said to this music! Haha. Life changes.
R.I.P. ODYSSEY. THIS IS WHAT DISCO WAS ALL ABOUT.GREAT SOUNDS ,DANCING TILL DAWN.
It'll take more than this to make a grown man cry...Ok I'm sobbing a bit... Beautiful, I have no words ❤️
I enjoy this song even though I'm not from New York or the USA.❤❤❤
Most soothing voice ever, and definitely in the rotation...
I loved watching Wendy sing this, I'm hooked lol
I've gotta admit I never knew this song until I saw Wendy sing it. I like it even though I'm not a native New Yorker!
loved these back in the day and still loving them in 2023 good tunes never die xx
I was kid and my mom would play this song on her 8-tracks. I would dance on the living room table with my sliding footy pajamas
I Love this Song it keeps me grounded, I have never stop listening to it since I first heard it🙌❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wonderful and vibrant! 🍏
l was once told that this song made by Odyssey only took one take. I believe it because it is so perfectly done and so pure. the song takes me back to Old New York where it was when I started back in the 90s. It was a grand time then. May all these singers rest in peace and understand that your beauty and your loveliness has brought us so much joy and put so many smiles on so many faces.
The late Tony Reynolds makes me proud to be Filipino.
A timeless classic to bring a smile in these sad times.
These were the best days to be young and alive 70 80s disco

I miss the fun times.
I miss the fun times too.
This song reminds me so much of my best friend that passed away maybe 30 years ago. I was maybe 14 and had just moved along with my parents, step brother, step sister to Croydon (The South of England) I knew no one at all. I can't remember exactly how we got introduced (His name was Trevor) but I soon found out he played bass guitar, he was self taught teaching himself of his Dad's bass. I was amazed and we soon became friends and I was soon begging my parents to buy me a Bass guitar which they did. We weren't a rich family so at the time it was a huge outlay. I would go to Trevors house and would patiently show me all the baselines he had worked out how to play by ear. These looking back where the best days of my life. Trevor soon after started to play guitar and we eventually got asked to join a band Trevor was always a better Bass player than me a his ear for music was unbelievable. He had a fantastic record collection some from his Dad but others he had purchased himself that was always a source of inspiration for us. I spent many hours even days in that house with him and his brothers watching videos eating oven chips whilst his Mum was at work nights and his Dad was away from home weeks on end. Trevor sadly passed away when he was maybe 17-18 years old. I remember being in the Doctors surgery oneway waiting to get seen and he came in with a girlfriend saying he had a headache and passed away few days later.I was devastated and that loss still affects me now 30/40 years later. This is one of the songs we would most doubt have listened to and learned and it reminds me of him as do many others. RIP Trevor Gittens xxxx
Poignantly beautiful 💋💯👊🙏
Reminds me of my friend Jim..this was one of his favorite songs... He grew up in Mt. Vernon and lived in the Bronx.. I sure do miss him

From a time long past, when music was music. At aged 62, they are now but memories.
This song has always been my favourite back when it was in the charts, it was my dream to go to New York & in 1999 I went with this song & I enjoyed it ❤
This song pop in my head. Remember this when was child
I love this song 🎵 ❤️
Timeless classic ...gives me goosebumps so glad I was in my teens and early 20's in the 1970 's
Yes I was too, I'm 63 now and I'm sad that time has flown by much to quickly, but am I glad I had this music and many more 70s songs to reminisce about and make me think of people way back then, it's such a privilege.
The song is a masterpiece! The instrumental saxophone break is magnificent.Should've won a Grammy for best musical arrangement.I don't consider that song disco. It's just in a league of it's own.
That's because Odyssey did a cover of this song. Frankie Valli did the original, which had more of a Broadway sound to it, however there was another take that makes the Frankie Valli version closer to the "over-the-air" Odyssey version.
Still love this song in 2021
What an era disco and soul music. I was 14 in 1977 and loved singing my heart out to this song .... happy days
Amazing times 🙏
What a voice! Amazing!
Every time I’m going to NYC, I put this on and turn up my earphones as I’m going over the Triboro bridge. It just does something to me inside.😁😁😁
