  • Note: I didn't mention this, but you can still hold the button down for 2 seconds to start remap mode and press the button again to stop remap mode. I didn't mention it because it will also trigger notes to play.

Hi Ray, first of all thank you for work you did and share with others. When I bought my Keylab I could see the great potential of FL integration but I´m not able to do it while you precisely solved it in much wider scale then I could even realize! I have one question as it is almost perfect for me and I guess for many others. May be it depends on what kind of music you want to do but if you go for beats then the best solution for mapping the pads would be the classic MPC model which is very simple so the pads would play exactly what is in channels without any setting up. For example „Al Be“ did it in „KeyLab MK2 FL Studio Integration MIDI Mapping | How to Loop Record Use Drum Pads No FPC“ video here on yt. Is there a chance you consider to change it?

Let me take a look. That's a good suggestion.

wow.. ok. I see what al be did. So, this is done specifically for chops and audio samples that play on a button press, correct ? I can have the pads default to this and also make it configurable for the folks who want to use chops/samples. Let me add this on my TODO list. Btw, best way to reach me is always through the discord channel... since this suggestion really interests me, I'll work on this over the Christmas break.

Alright. It's done now. Can you update the script, and then edit the config.py file and set the ENABLE_MPC_STYLE_PADS = True Then try it.

@@RayJuang Thanks Ray, I will try it during Christmas. Yes, I see you understood it as it´s really the most common/classic and simple way how to use the pads - you don´t want to set up anything twice when you are about to make a beat, you just load the sample to channel rack and that´s it.

Hey, can I also put sounds on this pads? For example I would like to put some "effects" like the "Uh" in Locked out of Heaven on it... how can I do that? The same way it works with the drums?

"you can still hold the button down for 2 seconds to start remap mode"
Is there a way to disable this, perhaps?

How i do this on the Essential?

There is a bug on Essential keyboards that may have been fixed recently. You'll need to download Midi Control Center, update the firmware. If that doesn't work, please reach out to me on the discord chat. I'm not good at responding to comments on UA-cam. There's an alternate way to get it to work that involves setting up a custom mapping

I found the solvation =) Tap "Map Select", choose User1 preset. Press "Map Select" again.
Then for example choose "Kick" in the pattern window (yellow light on it). Press and Hold a "Pad 1" on the Arturia Essential 49, till it'll start flashing. Then PRESS the note C3 on piano keybord. And then press "Pad 1" again. It'll stop flashing. Done! You just remap your KICK.
For Clap do THE SAME OPERATION. Choose "Clap" in the pattern window (yellow light on it). Press and Hold a "Pad 2" on the Arturia Essential 49, till it'll start flashing. Then PRESS the note C3 on piano keybord. And then press "Pad 2" again. It'll stop flashing.
Hope It helps you. And yeah, sorry for my bad english,,, mate =))
But I can't solve the problem with saving this like a Template to start any project with this remapping.
