I bought a Keylab Essential 49 the other day and although it took me 2 days of going through youtube videos (not on Arturia's channel) to get the keys and faders to work, there are still glitches and it's causing some problems within Studio one. It's all confusion from the midi mapping
Can the keylab mkII knobs be used to control parameters of Ableton devices? Ableton devices will show the blue hand but the keylabs knobs can only control track panning.
Why no one answering... Blue hand is visible, but it's impossible to even activate this block.. I thought need rotate knob and i will reach this effects section.. But not works.
I just wanted to say that After trying it with Reaper, GarageBand and Reason the integration with GB and Reaper AU and VSTi instances has been pretty much spot on, being especially smooth with the controller following in GB. Reason is another story. With Keylab Essential talking to Reason 11 default controllers are limited in function to PB and MW. Patch changes have to be made from within Reason gui. If anyone has had success with KL cooperating as well with Reason as it apparently does with the likes of the other two DAWs that a good thing! It means it’s possible. I just haven’t found it going there yet.
I am not getting any DAW control. When I press any of the DAW buttons I just get an instrument sounds. How do I get it into DAW mode? There are no instructions with keyboard. Thought it was a plug and play.

Any option to allow an Ableton user to have the drum grid by 4 tracks and 4 rows of clips, instead of the top 2 rows (first 4 tracks) and the bottom 2 rows (tracks 5-8)? It would be nice to have the option in a future update of sorts. Thanks!
Can you midi map the knobs to different things in Ableton? Also, Can the track select buttons be changed to Arm each track instead? Thank you for this video!
You can do this in user mode and mapping, however this arming will be a toggle function so you’ll have to on off. I work around this by going to live settings and only allowing one track to be armed at a time 🙂
The same way you would map any other pads, either change the pad values (done through Arturia's Midi Control Center) to match Impact or change the Impact pads' In/Out values to match your pads. If you're not getting midi messages in from your pads/keys, make sure that: you've setup your mk2 properly with S1 (options>configure external devices) and that you've ensured that you've chosen the Mk2 as Impact's (or any software instrument's) input.
Great product and sounds, but Cubase DAW setting still doesn’t work with Cubase 11 Artist. Very frustrating first few days with the instrument! Fortunately the general HUI setting works and everything maps out perfectly that way. DAW integration and quality of this board has given me confidence in relying more on VST tech. A good, non-laggy external sound module is a must, though. Set up right, this is live performance-worthy, more than just an in-studio setup.

Does this Also apply to the latest Arturia Keylab Essentials keyboard? I hate having to asswign every MIDI function manually when I switch between systems. And this would be great.
@@zed1122 You have it factory-pre-programned for Cubase if you select "add midi device mackie control" (and some other DAWS too) plus you can personalize your mapping if you want to add in your own midi mappings. How does this work when Ableton is in dual screen mode? You can have both arrangement and session views open simultaneously.. seems like that would cause issues
Has anyone tried setting up this controller with MOTU's Digital Performer as a DAW? DP is not a preset with this instrument so I was wondering how you did it, were there any issues, did it integrate alright?
My drum pad doesn’t work in live mode but works in a Analog lab mode. Are the pads set to launch clips in live mode? I never use that is there a way to assign them?
can anybody explain how I can switch between DAW mode and keyboard mode? so far I can get my Keylab 88 MKII set up to work as a DAW controller in Studio one or a Keyboard controller but not both. Hey, I have the Keylab 49. I just got the keyboard and I have no clue how to turn off the metro in my daw settings. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
CarolineWiese so I contacted Arturia and my problem was that I didn’t setup my keyboard correctly in my FL Studio midi settings. The way I had it caused the metronome to play every time I tried to record or listen in FL Studio. Pushing the metro button did nothing as well. (SOLVED) Logic Pro X integration, how to setup DAW Mapping and Control Surfaces with any Keylab mkII (Minilab mkII, Keylab 49 mkII, Keylab 61 mkII). Find the short tutorial here; ua-cam.com/video/csElj06ZpkI/v-deo.html
My new keylab 61 mk2 did not control anything on Reaper, out of the box, I think you have to manually map everything, which is not very helpful. I wonder if there is an easier way to get all the controls working as advertised.
found the answer: Open Reaper's preferences menu. Go to the Control Surface section. Click Add. In Control Surface Mode, select Mackie Control Universal. In MIDI Input Select "Keylab MkII DAW" In MIDI Output Select "Keylab MkII DAW"
I sat down today to finally try understand what I was missing from my Keylab 88 to select and launch scenes in Ableton. I finally got the answer. You can't. WTF? All this talk of extra Ableton integration and you can't launch scenes, only individual clips and if you mess up you need four pairs of hands to try and catch them before they trigger randomly across different scenes. My old Novation Launchkey Mini that cost 1/10th of this can launch scenes. If it can't do it, how can Arturia claim optimised for Ableton? The only good thing is that whilst it may not actually work with the most common benefit of Live, it does come with a nice shelf for my laptop so I can lean over the all knobs that could have done something to launch clips and use my trackpad instead. Truly unbelievable. Design logic would suggest the large dial knob could have a press function after selecting the scenes. (Yes you CAN select scenes o with this knob and watch the selector going up and down, but you CAN'T trigger them LOL). I tried to sign up for the Arturia forum where several other amazed buyer of Keylab products were asking the same question, but I don't have a degree in sound physics - this is needed not just to join the forum (if you want a laugh go to the Arturia forum sign up page), but also to post. You need to know the answer to random physics questions before you can post anything, even a response to help others. Which is why the forum is full of people asking questions and no one answers. They may know the answer but cannot possibly post it because they can't get past security questions like 'What is the neutral density of the sideways pull of negative-plus gravity on the neutrino mass'. If you know the answer to that question please post an answer as to where the button is launches scenes in Ableton. Otherwise, just post here on UA-cam that isn't run by French people.
>'What is the neutral density of the sideways pull of negative-plus gravity on the neutrino mass'. Answer: Negative 63 but only Tuesdays in The First Equinox of the Trilateral Osmodic Response Curve. :)

the arrows don't work for me in logic. please help
Hello, is it possible to play thé bass notes of à piano with thé pads and thé other with thé keys ? I awnsear me if i should tape à 88 mkII but i think i World probable do thé same with a 61 an thé pads because i am not à great piano player... tank you.
For the price($500.00) this is pretty good. I've been using a Korg Kontrol49 for years and could never find a controller with the same type features.
Do some of these episodes apply to the Essential Keylab - they're quite similar.
There's some common features but the essential series has less options. If you have any question I suggest you to get in touch with our support team with this link:

I’m sure they will be able to help you :)
Best regards.
(SOLVED) Logic Pro X integration, how to setup DAW Mapping and Control Surfaces with any Keylab mkII (Minilab mkII, Keylab 49 mkII, Keylab 61 mkII). Find the short tutorial here;
ua-cam.com/video/csElj06ZpkI/v-deo.html
My new keylab 61 mk2 did not control anything on Reaper, out of the box, I think you have to manually map everything, which is not very helpful. I wonder if there is an easier way to get all the controls working as advertised.
found the answer:
Open Reaper's preferences menu.
Go to the Control Surface section.
Click Add.
In Control Surface Mode, select Mackie Control Universal.
In MIDI Input Select "Keylab MkII DAW"
In MIDI Output Select "Keylab MkII DAW"

Your videos are very helpful. I am unable to access daw controls when I am using presonus midi interface to reduce latency. Please guide how to configure with midi interface thanks.
Bitwig integration?
thats what the site says but i can't find anything on it.
Does it work with Bitwig 3.3?
I am not getting any DAW control in Cubase 10.5. DAW mode is configured for Cubase, and I've set up the Mackie control and commands in Studio Setup, but nothing.

@@ArturiaOfficial I will do, thanks.
Maybe you can translate exactly Stuidio one tooo ?
a quick start with the setup in Reaper and Midi Control Centre would have been good. That bit is not intuitive.
My faders make a sizzle noise with some presets. Is there anyone experiencing the same problem and can offer a solution about it.?
does it not support fl studio?
Mă ajutați va rog cum pot folosii și eu butoanele de la Arturia keylab mk2 ca și controler pentru Cubase 12? Ce setări trebuie făcute?
Sorry not very helpful. In Cubase pro11 nothing seems to run as explained, even when DAW mode is set to Cubase. Not even the manual explains more.
