- This is the BEST workflow for the KeyLab Essential in FL Studio. Your drum pads will work like a real MPC with all MIDI data kept separate. No FPC! Play/Pause, Stop, Record, even SAVE will work.
This makes it easy to loop record, then mixing and arranging is much easier with separate midi data for each channel.
In this video I use the KeyLab Essential 49 but it will also work with the KeyLab Essential 61. I have separate templates for the MiniLab and the KeyLab MK2 - bit.ly/midi-templates

priceless info man. had my keylab essential 49 for 2 years along with the midi control center and arturia software applications downloaded but couldnt ever figure out how to program it. Thank u
I have some questions about this! I stored the template 1 and 2 to user 1 and 2 as well as imported the 3rd file in device settings. But when i open fl studio and connect my keylab essential 49 and select my map user 1 there is no sound coming from the pads. I have the basic sounds loaded in the channel racks and on the midi control center all of the pads are on channel 10 but no sound coming from the pad. How do i register a specific sound to a specific pad? and to load more sounds into more templates do i just duplicate the template 1 and 2 and store them into templates 3, 4, and 5 etc?

Yo i having trouble understanding how to put my samples on the drum pads were they play in different octaves so I can play them into fl studio to sample a sample. if that makes sense any help?

Hey! When I press certain notes on my midi keyboard, fl studio opens and closes things such as the playlist, starts new patterns etc. Its as if certain notes on my keyboard are bound to certain functions in FL Studio, it's really annoying! This happened right out of the box and I'm not sure how to fix it!

Just downloaded, works perfect. But if I set Midi channel to 1 (required for Analog Labs control) it controls the channels and notes of Analog Lab. Anyway around this?
I remember this problem but don't think there was a good way around it. I've tried several methods to use Analog Lab along with the rest of the plugins but its like it locks you to only using Analog Lab and doesn't do well for any other use. Its like it makes the controller an analog lab keyboard instead of a midi controller.

In your case there's Arturia KeyLab Essential and MIDIIN2. While in mine just Arturia KeyLab Essential MIDI In and DAW In.

Make sure you don’t have the editor still open. Only one application can see the keyboard at a time
Hello Al Be I bought the Arturia Keylab Essential 49 and I tried to connect it to Fl studio I have Macbook Pro and I don't have MIDIOUT2 and Midiin2 I want to be able to use the keys above only play the keys zim goes to example with Omnisphere Nexus and other programs only the above I would be happy if you could help me how I can do it.

Yo maaan, when i record something on Analog labs and switch to different instrument like FPC i can still hear the piano as well as the drums, do you know what i could be doing wrong? Thank bro, great video.
Are you using the keyboard to control analog lab? If so I've found no good way to do that and then switch to other instruments without changing the midi in on the Arturia lab channel. No good way I'm afraid

ey man don't know if you'll see this but when I pull up fl midi settings I only see Arturia key lab essentials 49 midi in and another Arturia key lab essentials 49 DAW in and can't find the MIDIIN() one you got set to MCU. I'm on fl 21 updated the firmware on the keyboard followed with you and I'm also on Mac
Yeah they changed the name but it should be something similar. Someone else brought this up last week. Can you email screenshots to support@allbangerz.com of what you see I think one is still there so it’s the other one they changed.

So you have to buy the template to be able to use the pads......or the whole keyboard in general inside of FL?
The template just makes the pads work in this particular way which is my preference. You can use the keys like normal and the pads somewhat out of the box.
i’m on mac and having difficulty setting it up, i believe i followed every direct properly but it just isn’t working :/

Hey, I purchased your template but its not working. In my Settings it finds one Essential DAW in and one Midi in. It looks different than your settings window

Make sure you unzip the folder after you download. It won't see the files if they are still zipped up.

Looks like you got it fixed on your own from your last email. Just gotta double check the FL midi settings
yessiiirr... what about the pattern/song mode button? i've had trouble finding a new controller with working play/pause, record AND pattern/song mode buttons. my old one used to function well but i thought i needed an upgrade and already got rid of it. this is particularly a big deal for me as i use all of these functions quite frequently and it saves me the trouble of using my mouse.
Nah I don't think that works here. I got it to work on my latest Akai template for the MK3 but don't think I figured it out for this one.

Yes, there is a way to do it, I just don't know it off the top of my head, nor have I ever seen it but I have seen several people say it's possible.
"Import failed: Invalid file name" when i try to import the device settings. solution for that?
Triple check you have the right template for your keyboard. This is for keylab essential. Also make sure you unzip.

Key length shouldn’t matter as long as it’s the right generation and model
i bought and downloaded your pack it doesn't work, when i go to import the file its not in the folder

What if you don’t see your device name on the option list
Make sure you don't have any other applications open that may be trying to access the keyboard and hit Refresh device list in the FL MIDI settings window

The keyboard is automatically mapped. Not sure what else you mean

No one time setup and you're good. All settings will stick. You would only have to change between user 1 and user 2 to use both banks of pads and trigger all 16 channels. Otherwise it will all work just fine.

Now if you don't have $10...that's sad. It is a small price to pay for the workflow and ease of use it brings. If you don't think you can make your $10 back...that's a lack of confidence in what you're making.
You got a keyboard from a company but need a template like mine so....don't knock my hustle, knock the company making millions. I had to buy cameras, video editing software, edit the video, make the template, website, market it etc....I put in work sir so yeah it's $10 or keep it moving. Y'all funny sometimes.✌
