Whether a "Dancing Queen" , a "Sometimes King", "An aloof Estate owner/ Romantic hero" or an "Awards recipient", Colin Firth is absolutely captivating.
He is a true gentleman....in every sense of the word. Articulate, modest, talented and so handsome in that tux...oh...and great hair and smile too! He has it all...and deserves to win....was a great movie!
This man is the unwritten British royalty! Who speaks like this in real life?! So elegant and classy!

It's nice to see him so well loved by the home crowd! He definitely got the biggest cheer and he seemed surprised. I mean even his competitors eg the 127 hours people look so pleased and cheered him on when usually they just do the polite clapping.
I love that Ford and Moore stood up for him and how he thanked Ford. A Single Man really put him on the awards map; wish he won the Oscar for that performance too.
He won because he gives the Best Performance of the Year.

@belwoodzzzz If you want foolproof proof then don't just watch The King's Speech, also watch A Single Man. There are plenty of movies in which his vast acting talent is apparent, he's just in a lot of mediocre movies which are, for some reason, far more publicised. (I didn't realise how good he was either, until I saw The King's Speech).

@MsFrittas Asian actress Maggie Q has her own show, daniel dae kim is headlining a show, there is a indian kid on the comedy "the big bang theory", the hot indian actor on the show "heroes", comedian ken jeong is very popular here, but still it is not minorities
I haven't seen The Kings Speech, but I need to see it, because I honestly regard Firth as a medicore actor (at best!) and therefore need proof that he's really THAT good.

Hi Eleanor thanks for the info, although I already knew about that, but why is he still thanking Tom even though this is an award for Kings Speech? Is it because the success of 'A Single Man' lead to his role in Kings Speech etc? I dunno, he just made it sound like it was a more of a personal thanks and I wondered if there was a story there.. but maybe not! :)
Martha Lewis Tom Ford and Colin Firth became really close friends while filming 'A Single Man.' He calls Ford his very dear friend in the speech as well.
Colin won the BAFTA for A Single Man, also the Coppa Volpe, but Hollywood disgracefully neglected Tom Ford, in their homophobic fear that a first time director might win. Colin's BAFTA speech is a classic - do listen to it!
