A Single Man is one of my top 5 favourite films ever, it fascinates me every time I see it and his performance was exquisite.

I cannot believe they didn`t give Colin Firth the Oscar for SUCH an out-of-this-world BRILLIANT performance in A Single Man. That was as atrocious as not given Gandhi the Nobel Peace Prize. Ridiculous!!!
Tamarix I am SO glad I discovered this film. It`s now one of my favorite too. Everything in this movie is just so poignant. That glass house is just amazing. I would pay all the money in the world to live in there, so modern yet so cozy, so cool and exposing yet so warm and intimate. My favorite scene in that movie was when they were sitting together reading and George wanted Jim to change the records. Matthew Goode was REALLY good in that movie too, a great match to Colin Firth; he really made it believable why George would fall for Jim. I can`t believe Matthew Goode didn`t even get nominated for anything.

Firth should have won the OSCAR for A Single Man. Easily one of the best performanced I have ever seen in my life. And then Jeff would have won for True Grit. That would be the better deal.
I have always said this!! I thought CF in A Single Man was better than The King's Speech, and I definitely thought Jeff Bridges was better in True Grit than Crazy Heart!

Me being an American attractive lady, I must say that Colin Firth is the very first English actor that I've ever wanted to comment on. He is not only so much more distinguished than any American actor, but he has "CLASS", and is soooooo sexy!! WOW!! I'm on my way to viewing every movie he has ever been in and must say"OOOOOH LA LA!!" What a handsome gentlemen. He gave the best performance this year but the buzz is not as huge as Jeff Bridges has. Now, at least he got one major award.
I think we must all thank Tom Ford for having such a great vision as to place ALL his trust into this man who did a phenomenal job as George Falconer. After A Single Man the world can finally give Colin Firth his due...and I'm sure an oscar is just a month away from becoming his for the King's Speech!!

There are a number of actors toiling in movies and television who have talent wasting away.
I thank the stars we have directors of vision and money who can bring forth a terrific story and give actors a chance to shine. Colin you were fantastic in the movie -don't settle for less again.

Graham Norton's not British, that's why he's happy. I don't think Brits are depressing, we just appear that way because we're more reserved than Americans. Especially upper-middle class people, namely Colin Firth.
