Thank you so much for posting this. Having watched the ceremony I remember this acceptance speech vividly as it moved me greatly. I cannot recall a speech that has been more profound, honest and endearing. It has been great to be able to revisit this wonderful moment once more, and again wipe away some tears. Mr Puttnam you are, and forever always will be a credit to the film industry. Thanks again.

What a great moment. What a humble man, you are Mr. Puttnam and what a beautiful, touching and memorable speech. And, last but not least, what a joy to see Richard Attenborough (a great actor and a real gentleman). Thank you so much for posting this video.

Wonderful speech. The power of telling stories and the need for them.

David puttnams speech in the house of Lords where he renounced his British citizenship remains his greatest speech. He took up Irish citizenship. And will never set foot in the country of his birth again.

He was born and raised In the uk and worked in it all his life in the British film and watched as the country of his birth tore itself apart. Over its decision to leave the eu. And some of his life long friends, all of them, vanished from his life.
