- This is a very loose generative "cover" of Radiohead's All I Need. All sounds created with the Matriarch and then processed and further mangled via Eurorack.
Listened to so much of this band in high school. Not so much these days. Just feeling nostalgic I guess.
Thanks for listening!
Loving the depth of tone. Matriarch really hits tho mark on that front. Can sit for hours dialling in beautiful modulation and never get bored. Glad I'm not alone.
It's the best texture synth I've ever encountered. The stereo delay and classic Moog filter are obvious, but the oscillator mixer is where so much of the magic happens.
This is wonderful, the closest thing to a warm bath i can get right now, the stress is melting out of my body listening to this...
Really kind of you to say. Glad you find this relaxing!
Brilliant!! So nice…magical captivation…great inspiration. Radiohead runs in our veins. Bliss on.
Thanks Jon. Despite my tastes shifting dramatically over the course of my adult life, Radiohead still just appeals to something in my mopey white guy soul. Ha ha.
@@riotbell5365 ha! I will never forget hearing ok computer for the first time in the Tower Records parking lot. My mind totally came apart. I couldn’t drive. Sat in the lot over the length of the album, my head was changed forever.
@@jon_gee I got the CD from Walmart in high school. Put it on wanting to listen to one song and ended up listening transfixed to the entire thing. Only other album that ever floored me that way was Pet Sounds.
Wow! I didn't recognize this as a Radiohead cover until reading your description. This is wonderful to listen to. 🙏 Upload it to Bandcamp and you'll have a subscriber! Seriously.
Thanks. I've never really thought about starting a Bandcamp account before. Maybe something to consider in the future. Thanks for the encouragement!
I admire how melancholic and beautiful this is! The dark sky really fits
Thanks! I wanted to strike a good balance between somber and sweet!
Beautiful piece. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Your Matriarch always sounds so delightful ❤
Thanks Grace. It's the only synth I've truly ever loved like a guitar (my primary instrument). I feel like I've developed an irrational emotional attachment to it. Worse things to love, I guess.
@@riotbell5365 strong relate here! My own Matriarch is a synth-for-life; can’t really imagine being without her now. There is something really special about this particular instrument!
@@Grace_Griffin Absolutely. It's such a beautifully realized instrument. Maybe the best thing Moog has done in the last twenty years (?)
Oh good !!! Homie loves him some Moog mariachi music !!!
❤🧡💛
😸
@@riotbell5365 I love your channel and what you do with the moog. Keep em coming if its not too stressfull :P :). So healing for me. Thank you kindly.
@@audiooddball That's kind of you to say. I have a ton of fun working with the Moog stuff. The Matriarch especially!
Hi. You can connect any eurorack module to the matriarch? Ffor example, a sampler/recorder module, with some recorded sound and play it on the matriarch?
Yes and no. You can run any instrument into the Matriarch provided you have an instrument cable with a 1/4 inch jack (Instrument-In). I've got an Intellijel audio interface module which can convert eurorack signal into line/instrument level. Thus I can run a eurorack sampler like the Assimil8tor into the Matriarch to take advantage of the filter/delay. Hope that helps.
@@riotbell5365 "Thus I can run a eurorack sampler like the Assimil8tor into the Matriarch to take advantage of the filter/delay." could you make a video doing this please? )
@@sashaatree6535 That's actually exactly what's going on in this video. The bass line was recorded with the Matriarch and sampled into the Assimil8tor and looped back into the Matriarch via the Instrument-In. The randomized sequencing is taking place in real time on the Matriarch and the sounds are blended together and sent through the stereo outs of the Matriarch to an audio interface linking up the DAW for final recording.
@@riotbell5365 Ok sir, and is it possible to somehow send sounds recorded in ipad synth to the matriarch?
@@sashaatree6535 Sure. All you would need is an 1/4 jack and something like a preamp or audio interface to raise the iPad output to line level to send it into the Matriarch.
