If you are going to include a beginner's guide, with the intention of using a spreader, starting with your paste on the opposite side of your dominant hand may be easier than applied from the center. The mic is actually pretty decent but it was not used the right way: 1-It's a side-adress mic (picks up audio from the side) so if you talk into it from the top it will sound like garbage 2-It basically requires phatom power to function properly, if it doesn't have it will not sound good, and I doubt the soundboard has good quality to begin with so there's also that to take into account Overall from what I've seen and tested (I own a BM800 myself), It's pretty good if seted up properly and spoken into the right way (and there are many audio samples here in youtube that also comprove what I'm saying)
@@LRM12o8 "pretty good" is relative. they're relating their experience to the one in the video, not super mega high end audiophile recording studio equipment 🤣 Besides, it's not like they said all it'd take is changing the direction you're speaking from. It's just neat info that can help people get the most out of their mics afaict, more useful to those who have similar ones, so I guess you weren't the target audience /shrug
@@LRM12o8 I also own a BM-800 and I can tell you he's not using copium at all. You can find reviews here on YT from some very well trusted sources, and using it as a side address mic with 48v phantom power, and a decent audio interface that accepts an XLR input will give shockingly good results for a $20 mic. It's actually quite hard to screw up a condenser mic and I could see the issues right from the start with their setup. Of course, something like an SM7B will wipe the floor with it, but that's after it wipes the floor with your bank account too.
@@LRM12o8nah, hes right, i own a bm800 also, and was surprised when they put theirs on, it sounded distorted and reverbed, maybe there's something wrong with their unit.
As an audio guy, there is little scarier than a XLR to 3.5mm adapter. If the device that the XLR can output Phantom Power, you can easily fry things connected to the 3.5mm end. Also if the ground is sketch, you could even send the phantom power to yourself. Props to the TRS connected though instead of cheeping out for a TS.
I'd like to point out that they didn't use a phantom power supply, that mic can do better. Plenty of reviews on it. Although the package doesn't include one so fair enough
that used to be true. it hasn't been true for basically any phone or Laptop made in the last 10 Years. it is unwise to put Phantom Power on every Input just because you are to Lazy to check per channel. Some Pedalboards, sound processors and even simple Bass Amps can do weired things when having Phantom Power on the XLR or Jack outputs.
My husband suggested that those elf ear headphones would be great for someone going to a con that wants to cosplay and be there but might need some music to help handle the noise of hundreds of people in a convention center. Generally that type of on-ear costume piece would exclude headphone use, so it would be a really useful workaround for the right people.
That BM-800 mic and other clones is a side-address mic (it picks up sound from the side) so if you talk from the top of the mic it's always gonna sound horrible. Also so much better if it's plugged into a phantom power supply.
THANK YOU. That was bugging me so much, seeing the popper stopper placed perpendicular like that. Granted, it probably wouldn't have sounded a ton better, but they should at least give it the best possible chance.
3:55 Kodak did go bankrupt, but they don't "mostly" license their brand to cheap manufacturers - they're still alive and making film (and are in fact basically the only major film manufacturer still going since Fujifilm appears to have stopped and now outsource non-Japanese market film to Kodak) Edit since multiple people seem to think Eastman Kodak doesn't make the film any more: yes they do, they make it and sell it to their exclusive distributer (Kodak Alaris). Very easily confirmed by using Google, or looking on a box of film.
Both are true - after the bankruptcy, Kodak's film business split off as Kodak Alaris, which produces the film we know and love today, while the Eastman Kodak company retained the Kodak brand and licensed it out to a pile of manufacturers, much in the same way Polaroid did (though they seem to be turning a corner on this).
@@campbellwright3743 Doesn't the Eastman Kodak company also produce the film, though? As per SmarterEveryDay's videos on this topic. He toured their facility in New York and showcased all of their production process, even.
@@campbellwright3743Eastman Kodak based in Rochester New York makes and owns all film and coating formulas. They also still own and control distribution of Motion Picture film products and chemistry. Kodak Alaris is the global distributor for Eastman Kodak STILL photography film.

The BM800 condenser mic actually sounds very good if you throw away the cable it comes with and use a proper XLR cable and audio interface. It is an actual cardoid condenser mic. In fact it is comparable in quality and clarity to some mid three digit condenser mics. It has a bit of a following, quite a few review/comparison videos, and even a couple of well known mods to upgrade the innards. I used one for streaming for a few years before I upgraded to something else, and honestly the main reason I upgraded was because my BM800 was blue and silver and it looked shonky, not because I needed an upgrade in sound quality. In addition to using the XLR to 3.5mm cable, you were also talking into the wrong end of it. It is a side address microphone. Lol
Ive been looking into that case for my girlfriend because she really wanted that color so I'm glad there weren't many complaints about it other than the defect on the panel
quick heads up: those guitar usb sticks are often used for storing live recordings of concerts that you can buy at the merch booth just after the concert finished :)
Funfact: the first wave of BM-800 microphones are pretty good but since they become so popular they're using cheap hardware now. (It's a condenser mic so it's good to use with a phantom power to get maximun quality, i don't know if it helps this new version btw lol)
This sound similar to Blue mics where the older snowballs used to be really good and then they made the yeti with basically the same condenser for more money so they changed the cheaper snowball to be worse.
I have used one myself. It is not in any way a great mic, but it is great for the money. Also, why did they speak to the top of this mic in the video? Its diaphragm pointed to the side...
This RX6600M is a pretty decent video card, I used one for near 2 years now. It uses standard AMD drivers and its power limited by 100W, wich is pretty handy if you have a low watt power supply and limited space like an itx build. The performance is not much different for the standard rx6600. Recently AMD disabled fan, power and overclock controls for it on latest drivers, but you can flash another bios to regain it. This card is very popular here in Brazil since in last year it was available on Aliexpress and cost almost half comparing to the 6600 for almost same performance.
If anyone is interested in the construction and ethics side of Shein et al, I recommend Bernadette Banner’s amazing video on the topic “Buying a Knockoff of My Own Dress: An Educated Roast”
I have some good stuff from shein, some of the comfiest and surprisingly durable stuff is from there. But price is not the reason i shop on shein, it's variety: if i go to my local dress shops however y'all call them i only get to choose from 1 style of shirt, hoodie, pullover and t-shirt. I get to choose between jeans or black pants and everything is just a slightly different shade of blue/green. Unless i shell out some premium money for every day clothing shein is a fkn saviour
I could see the LARP community actually loving the elf ears with earbuds. Like imagine having them hooked up to a phone on a call that's placed somewhere and now you have a remote listening spell.
@@blaireshoe8738 then maybe specify that the second phone is the one that is placed, not the one the earbuds are "hooked up to". OP never mentioned a second phone and their poor word choice says there's one phone, with the headphones connected, sitting on a rock somewhere unattended.

I did not understand that joke. Probably because english is my 2nd language. Can you explain please?
@@blackskull7777I didnt understand it either lol
@@blackskull7777 "ju" is pronounced like Jew, the demonym for people of the Jewish faith and/or ethnicity, and the last part is pronounced like a slightly derogatory term for a profession
@@blackskull7777 Because of how Linus pronounced it, based off its spelling, it sounded like "jew" followed immediately by "whore", which is a very unfortunate thing to say on a large youtube channel. I think it's pretty easy to make an argument for the thermal paste instructions. If you are going to include a beginner's guide, with the intention of using a spreader, starting with your paste on the opposite side of your dominant hand may be easier than applied from the center. I'd even go so far as to say, it's probably right...
I know thermal paste application is one of the oldest PCMR wars but I actually think starting on the side and spreading to the other are pretty decent instructions for the spread method. This also ties into the argument that the spready method is the most consistent method as well.

The mic is actually pretty decent but it was not used the right way:
1-It's a side-adress mic (picks up audio from the side) so if you talk into it from the top it will sound like garbage
2-It basically requires phatom power to function properly, if it doesn't have it will not sound good, and I doubt the soundboard has good quality to begin with so there's also that to take into account
Overall from what I've seen and tested (I own a BM800 myself), It's pretty good if seted up properly and spoken into the right way (and there are many audio samples here in youtube that also comprove what I'm saying)
I smell copium! 🤣
@@LRM12o8 "pretty good" is relative. they're relating their experience to the one in the video, not super mega high end audiophile recording studio equipment 🤣
Besides, it's not like they said all it'd take is changing the direction you're speaking from. The power setup thing is a pretty major factor. Hence why they brought it up.

As to the medium size pants, Chinese sizing is ~2 sizes smaller than US/European (I use XL in US/Euro, and need to go up to XXXL in China sizes)
The mic has its capsule on it's side like a normal side addressed large condenser.... You would expect LMG to get this stuff right

3:55 Kodak did go bankrupt, but they don't "mostly" license their brand to cheap manufacturers - they're still alive and making film (and are in fact basically the only major film manufacturer still going since Fujifilm appears to have stopped and now outsource non-Japanese market film to Kodak)
Edit since multiple people seem to think Eastman Kodak doesn't make the film any more: yes they do, they make it and sell it to their exclusive distributer (Kodak Alaris).
That’s not quite right. Alaris doesn’t manufacture anything, they’re based in the UK and are the exclusive distributor of film made by Eastman Kodak in the US.
Kodak Alaris makes films, not Kodak
Linus with a septum ring actually didn't miss. I'm not generally a fan of them but that somehow worked out.
