  • Daniel Boulton walked form his home in Skegness to Bethany Vincent’s home in London where she lived with her nine-year-old son Darren Henson. The reason was to confront and discuss about getting back into a relationship with her. Join me in this episode of True Crime where I take you through the events that unfolded that day in May 2021. I very interested in your views on the possible results of lockdown on domestic violence and child abuse, my view (similar to yours) is also if you can't leave the house to work and consequently not having the social contact with peers and people other than those you are locked in with, if suddenly find yourself at home locked in with children/ babies - a new experience as usually these noisy, messy demanding small people are at school, playgroups or friends (out of the house when you ARE HOME) kids are bored and disruptive, ignoring your rules and threats, - you lose patience and on top there's a grizzly toddler potty training and a baby THAT JUST KEEPS CRYING, shut that baby up or I will! .it is fraying your last nerve This scenario is new to you and you are locked in the house 24 hours a day.you can't escape. You are irritated and at your wits end. (Of course not all households will be at steam kettle level, about to explode.)

Apathy is a modern plague. It’s heartbreaking. I am a woman of small stature that has put myself in harm’s way more than once for a stranger, always will, and since I was quite young. It didn’t come from how I was raised, it is not a learned behavior, it just is and always was. While this case is absolutely heart wrenching, thank you for speaking up at length about domestic violence and how we need a better system to help those who are victims of domestic abuse. 30 + years ago I found myself in a domestic abuse situation and I stayed for almost 2 years thinking I was to blame. When I finally realized I had to leave to save my life because he had stabbed me in the thigh with a knife I called the police. I still remember the police officer saying to me "Well, if you hadn't have made him so angry maybe he wouldn't have hurt you." I was crushed and it took me the longest time to trust the police force. I was one of the lucky ones I had a wonderful friend who came, took me from this horrible situation and hid me in his home for 1.5 years. He provided for me financially and emotionally and was a true friend. I hope anyone going through this is able to find someone to help them navigate these tricky waters. Bless you, Emma!

This case had me in tears. I often watch Emma’s cases filled with so many different emotions. The storytelling has such an impact on me, and i go away, a long time after, revisiting the series of events. They are all so senseless, and the impact it has on the families must be profound. My heart goes out to the family, and her surviving child. Another insightful and emotional story Emma. Thankyou for your amazing content. Luckily the police were close by and was able to get him before he fled. The officer came in to question me and told me she was glad I called because no one else did. We lived in freaking APARTMENTS. I know you have a pile of cases to cover already, but I was wondering, you perhaps look into covering Marc Dutroux?
It is a very well known case in the Benelux but I have strangely never seen much documentation of it on UA-cam and I think it might also be interesting for the non-EU viewers.
The Jayme Closs case reminded me of Sabine Dardenne, who managed to survive Dutroux at the age of 12 and actually wrote a book about her life before, during and after. It was the first true crime story I ever read and it was really extra real to me because I was 14 at the time of reading her book, even now, at 25 I still remember that story very well.

Wow, this one has totally got me. As the loving mother of an almost nine year old boy who is Autistic, this case hurts my heart so much. Bethany sounded like an amazing, strong woman, and her son DJ was such a beautiful, innocent soul. Also so sad for the surviving child, for the trauma he has to deal with as he grows up. Thank you Emma, I love every single one of your videos, you are amazing. Thank you for all the effort you go to for us xxx

Such a tragedy. I live in Lincoln and hadn't heard about this. I struggle to come to terms with the fact that there are fellow human beings ( and i use that in the loosest terms) that are capable of such heinous crimes. I just don't get how one person can inflict harm on another, especially a child! Soooo very glad that man is behind bars, hopefully never to be free again. Thank you Emma for telling us this in such a sensitive manner.

I truly appreciate how Emma can dissect the mental and emotional complexities many people face. With this case involving domestic violence she truly captures the reality that grips many people who are subject to that kind of abuse. Emma you’ve honestly helped me better understand my own trauma , history and this has allowed me to have such a deeper and healthier connection with myself and understanding why i … felt like the person could abuse me the way they chose to . Thank you Emma ❤️ I swear hearing you explain these cases while tragic , allows people like myself to make those lost .. truly know they’re life made positive impact to so many people around the globe ❤️ even in their death they’ve been a blessing ❤️

Dearest Miss Emma, I'm not sure that there r enough tissues in the world to wipe away my hot huge burning tears that r presently falling down my cheeks. As per usual u have presented this video about DJ and his mom with meticulous, in depth research and with great class and empathy towards these innocent victims who had joy in both their hearts and souls for a fresh new beginning. Devoid of this succubus who took it upon himself to call the shots. Yet again, I ask u gorgeous Miss Emma....Where the bleep is the firing squad to take this miserable excuse of a human being and plainly, justly and rightly obliterate this useless pile of skin?? As long as WE, don't stand up for harsher outcomes or consequences, as u so eloquently spoke of, these monsters r going to continue to seek and destroy!! It's a damn good thing that I wasn't the one handing out this monster's punishment and due diligence for his murderous actions. Because, I promise u that as sure as I'm leaving u this comment, there would be no monster to speak of any longer. It's as simple as that!! U r an absolutely astout, intelligent drop dead gorgeous advocate and, presenter of true crime in your videos. Keep on keeping on. U ROCK!! Respectfully, THE QUEEN. 😎👑😁

It’s really frightening how one slip up caused this horrific attack. He knew they were leaving. I have in my head that when there is a serious danger of attack families are moved to a safe house under protection. Nobody is told about it. I’m wondering why this didn’t happen? RIP ❤️

Because she probably refused or didn't seek it out.. I had to ask and agree to not have any contact with my family, we couldn't take anything except for two outfits each and a couple personal items. We couldn't even have our vehicle for a while. It's not easy and not everyone is going to agree with the circumstances, I'm thinking because he was autistic, this may have been too much of a change for him? His mother may not have wanted to add the stressors to his life? Obviously, idk, but I've been there and it's not easy. Especially with kids.. He wouldn't have been able to go to his school,or if he was in any kind of specialized program for his autism.

My heart feels heavy, my face is tear stained and I am filled with gratitude that I have the most incredible partner. My ex-husband way highly abusive but never with his fists, but with coercive control, manipulation and neglect. It took a mental breakdown to discover this was classed as domestic abuse.
This is becoming all too common and stories like this need to be published more. The one scratch of comfort comes from the hope that DJ and his mum will forever be together. May their souls rest in peace 😔🖤🖤🖤

I've been a solo mum since 5months pregnant, my daughter's father is not in her life..I tried dating once my daughter turned 3 and got into a relationship (was not introduced to my daughter until 8 months into the relationship) I will never forget when he turned to me in the kitchen and said "you will never love me more than your daughter" I replied " your right, I will never love anyone more than her, now you can leave"
I have not dated since (10 years now 😂) because my daughter comes 1st and I don't trust any man to come into our home especially after the types of relationships I have been in, they have all been toxic and abusive..she has amazing male figures in my family and tbh I am so fulfilled with my life that a relationship is not missed💜

My husband has Anti Social Personality Disorder (Aka Sociopathy). Now there is a scale of how bad it is, my husband has been to prison before he met me but he works very, very hard to keep it under control, especially his anger and emotions. He also takes responsibility for his actions and emotions and is a very Loving father and husband despite him having this and a few other mental health issues like PTSD and opposition to authority disorder. It is NOT impossible for people to live good lives with these mental disorders. This guy was evil to begin with. Very very sad case, and my heart absolutely aches for that beautiful innocent child and his mother.

This broke my heart. Thank you for your sensitive and understanding way of dealing with DV situations. I was also terrified of an ex to this level because he was so similar, that I also went to a secret location.
Thank you for covering why women don’t leave - people do not understand the fear when women explain. The psychological terror that the woman has experienced.
I still struggle all these years on. I left a man after 6 months recently who started to show similar signs, and I often doubt myself that I left too soon. He’s stalked me at venues he knows I frequent because I stopped responding to his manipulative messages, and played the victim, he was SO mad I left, and honestly it’s started to wear me down. I left because he was so degrading and emotionally/ psychologically abusive, in so many ways but included telling stories about how he has scaled 9th story buildings (my flat is on 9th floor) - which sounds silly, but when its coupled with someone who’s broken you down, and told you stories that they’ve almost killed someone before and you don’t know a lot about them, then this is terrifying to hear.
This video reminded me what danger I could be in and that I did the right thing by not responding.
And oh my gosh what a terrifying experience having your door kicked in! I’ve had nightmares of this.

I absolutely love your channel Emma and watch religiously every week and every single episode. This particular case hits very close to home for me, as I left a very coercively controlling and violent relationship 2 years ago. My ex is nearly identical to Daniel Boulton in the way he thinks (playing the victim) and was given a 2 year restraining order (it runs out the end of this year) he has breached it many times but there has never been "enough evidence" to hold him accountable. I will keep ploughing on and will do whatever I can to protect myself and my two boys.
Keep up the amazing work Emma and my love and prayers go out to Bethany and DJ's family. RIP Bethany and DJ XX 🙏👼

Such a sad case. Really feel that Bethany must have realised he had this dislike to DJ. If a man shouted at my daughter he would be history the 1st time. My daughter is 24 & independent now but my current long term boyfriend knows that if he shows any negativity towards my gorgeous cat Petra then we are over. I feel with the danger & unhappiness DJ was in even at the beginning of the relationship he should have been looked after my the loving family. He wanted DJ given to them anyway. I feel so sorry for sweet DJ as Bethany let the devil into their life. I know it sounds bad but I do not feel she put DJs needs & love first.

I have to agree... too many red flags and too little to late. This was heartbreaking but at the first sign of violence toward Bethany and the name calling of DJ this demon should have been history... ladies, it,s worth doing a bit of research before you get involved with somebody who was a total loser from the get go. And who the hell doesn,t call the police when someone is getting murdered and their front door has been kicked in??? Let’s be honest, most of the true crime video creators just watch other channels on UA-cam. The really good ones watch parts of the trial & read some books. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan! I particularly enjoy the storytelling style of some.
The creators who are educated & experienced AND study the legal documents from the trials & psychological reports etc are very rare.
