Ahhhh, how I relate. From Phen-Fen to RNY to Trulicity to Mounjaro... My RNY was in 2001 and I lost 190 lbs in a year. It took 19 years to gain it all back + much more. In April 2022, I was 405 (at 5'2"). Today I am 252 and falling. But best of all, labs are FABulous! (Except CKD3b which I hope gets better over time.) HbA1c went from 8+ to 5.1. It's fantastic! I will be on these meds forever and I am thrilled about that. It's way better than insulin, lipid meds, etc. For me, I finally have a vision of myself much older (I'm 62) and I feel hopeful in a way I never did after my RNY. SO happy to "meet" another Bariatric Surgery companion! Thanks for sharing your story.
Thanks for chiming in, and congratulations on your success!
I had a gastric bypass at 45 yrs old and lost 60-70 pounds. Now gained all back in 6 years and this is my only last option starting Monday.
Thank you for your honesty. I regained all of my 100 lbs back after major loss and trauma also after almost 20 years of success.
Great video Mark!
Thanks, Jared!
You are so right I had vsg in 2018 and I feel the same way on wegovy. I have loss 80lbs since April without any side effects. I was able to stick to strict carnivore for 5 months now I'm on keto. Definitely a game changer for me. Thanks for the video & motivation. Best of luck to you on your journey.
Wow, great job on the weight loss! Congratulations to you, and best of luck on your continuing journey as well.
@SprintingSlowly Thank you & same to you
I was going to get bariatric surgery in 2010 but I backed up because I was too young and I wasn’t obese and I was already in the process of getting it done I had done the test, the classes and etcc and was this close to get my surgery but I changed my mind but I did my research about bariatric surgery, wls, gastric sleeve and gastric bypass for many years now till this day my dr still offers me bariatric surgery 😊
THANK YOU FOR THIS.
Thanks for another great video!
Thanks, Laura! ❤️

Looking good, sir!
Thank you! 😊

Aw, thank you! And thank you for watching!
This vids amazing, great job dad 😊
Aw, thanks, Ani! I love you! ❤️
I'm actually starting this week and hopeful for some good results
That's great! It took about 6-8 weeks before I really started to notice a difference. Typically they start you at a lower dose then you slowly work your way up. It wasn't until I was a full strength that it really started helping.
I had about three months of honeymoon phase. My weight never just fell off. Lol I had to work very hard for all of it. I was always hungry even at three months
That's rough, but good for you for putting in the hard work. Surgery is definitely not the easy way out!
Hi can you please advise n where I can order this? Can u pleas DM me, lower cost options please
Ya but if you stop taking it, u gain all the weight back. What happens when they ban this for weight loss?
What happens when semaglutide gets banned for weighloss?
where did you hear that?
Hi so happy for you that you can handle this meds.
Are you still doing good? You look great!
I had the shots coming but i got scared to take shot due to new warning
FDA added a new warning to the Ozempic label. FDA said the medication will now include a warning about potential intestinal blockage. That legal warning was also added to the weight loss drug Wegovy, which is made by the same manufacturer as Ozempic.Oct 4, 2023
This will sound harsh but I'm just giving my own opinion on this video. Surgery, medication don't cure your underlying reason for overeating. To have to resort to a meditation for life is extreme for something that can be fixed in other ways. Here's the very blunt bit - by the end you sounded like an advert for the pharmaceutical companies 😭. If you have children and you need surgery AND now meds what are you teaching them 😢.
If you can point me to any peer-reviewed research published in a reputable medical journal that shows that a morbidly obese person can lose enough weight to achieve a normal BMI and keep it off long term without surgery or medication I'd love to read it. Every known diet, lifestyle change, psychotherapuetic approach, or other non-medical intervention has more than a 99% failure rate after about two years. The underlying cause for overeating isn't psychological, it's physiological. I wish it weren't true, but it is.
@@SprintingSlowly…have you looked into a 12-step program for food addiction?
Glad to find your video. I had a gastric bypass in 2009 and had some side effects with small bowel obstruction 4 times that was very painfull and required open abdominal surgeries. I lost 155 pounds the first 1,5 year and was able to keep a steady weight for 6-7 years. But I have slowly regained 100 pounds again the last 7 years. So I am asking my doc for Wegovy prescription tomorrow and will start the low 0,25 dose in January. Luckily I now live in Denmark (the Home of pharma company Novo Nordisk), and it is affordable in price - about 2-300 Dollars pr month. I know I need to make some lifestyle changes again - Quitting drinking alchoholic beverages will help me a lot. Like you I was also an emotional eater, and after the gastric bypass surgery I was unable to eat any comfort foods - or binge eat, especially anything with sugar, that made me so ill from dumbing - severe nausea and heaving, sweating since I was unable to vomit, taught to me to stay clear of high sugar foods and drinks. I just noticed that I replaced eating with drinking more alchohol than I should and no matter what I do, I do not seem to be able to lose weight, if I drink alchoholic beverages. So I hope Wegovy will be able to help me
You're definitely not alone. Transfer addiction is fairly common after weight loss surgery. I'm sorry to hear you struggle with it. I wish you the best of luck with Wegovy; I hope it works as well for you as it has for me.
@@SprintingSlowly Thanks Mark - I will seek more information about transfer addiction and treat it more seriously in order to become more healthy and live better. I look forward trying Wegovy and wish you and your wife all the best
