The Sudden Appearance of Hope sounds amazing! I'll have to get my hands on a copy of Gena/Finn. Fable Haven sounds fun! I love adding new book titles to my TBR when I watch your videos :)
did you know Claire North has two pseudonyms (Kate Griffin & Catherine Webb) under which she writes adult urban fantasy/paranormal books? just thought i'd mention it since i figured you'd be interested in those
I was very hesitant to start ACOMAF, until I read that it portrayed PTSD in quite a respectful way. I suffer from PTSD myself, so I wanted to check it out. I'm currently only about 57 pages in, but I already recognise so many things. Certain things are so painfully familiar and real, that I can only congratulate SJM on being such a great writer for being able to make that come across.
I read the second book of the Captive Prince's trilogy and oh my god, it was soo much better than the first one and I think the third one will be amazing!
+Reegan Kay it's a sexualitu where people love anyone regardless of gender or sex!! (You could also interpret Apollo as bisexual but personally I see him more as pan idk) heres a link for more info en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pansexuality
+Reegan Kay or.... Consider: instead of refusing to educate yourself with something as simple as a Wikipedia article and refusing a helpful attempt to help you understand the infinite and indefinite range of human gender and sexuality and turning to being unnecessarily snarky in UA-cam comments you could: ·read a magazine ·pet a dog ·water a plant ·find some memes ·draw a picture ·play a sport ·go shopping ·call your grandmother ·educate yourself with the very simple links someone provided for you; here's one now! - fuckyeahbisexuals.tumblr.com/pansexualityvsbisexuality
+Gisselle Marin there are only 2 genders. Transgender people still identify with a gender. Being attracted to 2 genders (bisexuality) is exactly the same as being attracted to all genders.
I actually read The First Fifteen Lives in May because of how much you praised it and it's one of the first books in what might be YEARS that I immediately wanted to reread, so thank you for that! I'm very excited for The Sudden Appearance of Hope now.
I love how after finishing your wrap up videos I always jump straight to goodreads and Amazon and put books on my wishlist / To read shelf. I honestly trust your opinion very much :) all the love from Germany.
I also had a great reading month-reading 8 books too! I finished A Darker Shade of Magic, the Legend trilogy, re-read The Next Together, Rebel of the Sands, An Ember in the Ashes and The Raven King!
haha I was watching your video with my dog near me. He heard your dog shake its collar in the video and my dog started barking and going crazy thinking a real dog was nearby! it was hilarious 😂😄
Im so glad you read Fablehaven! I read that when I was younger and I absolutely love it today still! It's awesome!! I never really see them anywhere on booktube..just in a few places. The third book is my favorite out of all of them!
I feel like I'm one of the only people who hasn't read ACOMAF... lol So going to go read that now. I've just heard too many amazing things! I also read The Hidden Oracle in May and loved it! And just finished Truthwitch at the beginning of June and loved it as well.
Your love of middle grade is inspiring. I read Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library this month and loved it! I forgot how much fun middle grade adventure can be! The last one I read before that was just ok-not very exciting and very predictable. Sure, the good guy wins in the end in pretty much all middle grade but it's so fun! Excited for more. Second favorite after that was Cress. Oh man, definitely enjoying the Lunar Chronicles. I read Fairest over the weekend and it was interesting but I don't think it really added anything to the story but Cress was great and I'm very interested to see where we go with Winter. Happy reading!
I read the hidden oracle too! I thought it was good, but it felt slow for me until *spoiler alert* Meg turned on Apollo. that's when I was completely hooked/ intrigued!
Ahhh I loved Trials of Apollo this month and it was actually one of my best reading months too! I read 7 books and loved all of them, a May Wrap up/June TBR is coming soon to my channel.
I'm sensing that May is the ultimate reading month - you're the fourth booktuber in a row who has been reading like crazy and finding little gems! I must read that new Clare North book! :)
Love your videos Reagan, glad you had a great reading month! I've had the First Fifteen Lives of Harry August for a while and I really need to get round to it! :) - L x
I had very much the same feelings as you towards The Wolf Wilder, just that little bit underwhelming. Although you have tempted me to possibly pick up ACOMAF :)
ACOMAF was amazing and it gave me the biggest hangover. I have Fablehaven but haven't read it yet. I want to read it but it's not high on my priority list. I read The Raven Boys also this month and it was good but not great for me. I was more interested in Blue more than anything.
I read ACOMAF, The 4 books that are out of the others series, The winners kiss, Eidolon, the forbidden wish, Future shock and Bottled bluegrass for review. I had a pretty good reading month.
I really need to get around to ACOTAR and ACOMAF because I haven't read of them yet despite owning (and being extremely excited for both) because life always gets in the way. And of course reading slumps. *Sigh* The struggle is real 😞
Woah, you read a ton! I didn't get much read last month, but I'm happy to have finally completed this massive collection of Poe stories, that I had been borrowing from the library for months! :D
I read The Raven King this month (among other things), I enjoyed it more than the first three and understood why it has a big fanbase more than i did before. I'm a bit like you that i enjoyed ACOTAR but it's kinda faded from my memory, but I still want to read ACOMAF and it has so many rave reviews- but the size intimidates me a little.
I read eight books in May too which was surprising because I had exams up until the 19th. My favourites were probably Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake and Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare, and maaaaaybe Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I gave almost every book four stars though, I think I need to start being tougher with my ratings!
I read a bunch of wonderful books this month too 1. A Storm of Swords 2. One Plus One 3. 15 Lanes 4. Perks of Being a wallflower 5. Of Mice and Men 6. Life and other near death experiences
I work in the Youth Services department and the beautiful cover of Wolf Wilder always caught my eye, sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it. But it seems that it was made up for by the other amazing books! I mostly thought people were gushing over ACOMAF because it was steaming but its nice to hear that it is more than that.
It's all about those female friendships! I'm still pretty tentative about reading ACOTAR and ACOMAF. I think at this point it's just been so hyped up that I would be easily let down by it..... I'm not completely writing it off but it's definitely not on the top of my tbr listm
Since you liked Fablehaven so much, you should try Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage (if you haven't read them already). They have the same feel as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone!
I really want to read truthwitch! Maybe I should try to do that in june.. Also ACOMAF was amazing. I don't think I loved a book that much in a long time :D
I still haven't read Truthwitch but your review of it might just make me pick it up this month. 😊 also fablehaven sounds intriguing. I'll have to check it out!
I can't wait for Trials of Apollo but sadly it has to wait for a bit since I'm still going through the Percy Jackson series and then I have to go through the other series before I can get to this one but all of those books are definitely my goal for this year :)
When I saw that you picked up The Wolf Wilder I was so conflicted because I was so happy you were going to read Katherine Rundell but stressed because that book was suuuuch a disappointment (that pains me to say omg) after her second book Rooftoppers which was literally the most beautiful book I ever read, like if I could make every person ever read that book I would! So please don't be put off by TWW! So glad you had such a good reading month!
Holy guacamole The Sudden Appearance of Hope sounds damn good. ACOMAF absolutely SMASHED ACOTAR in the face. Truthwitch sounds exactly like my kind of series - friendship first is something I've been needing in my reading life.
I have not read ACOMAF, but I can appreciate an author showing how traumatic events affect their characters negatively. As you said most characters just "brush it off". For my speech class we had to do a eulogy on a fictional character and I, of course, chose Harry Potter. The more I thought about HP's death the more I realized how haunted he must be by all the awful things that have happened to since a VERY young age. I believe if HP was a real person that it would be very likely that he would have been suicidal after seeing so many people he loved and cared about die for him. As an adult now, I would love to have seen if affect him more than it did in the novels.
I honestly believe Harry's PTSD was very apparent. From books 1-3 he does face terrifying events, but nothing really traumatizes him until GoF where he witnesses Cedric's murder. In OotP, he has nightmares, trouble sleeping, triggers that remind him of the maze and what happened, etc. He's also facing more stress from being labeled a liar and dealing with an abusive authority figure (Umbridge). Ootp is a dark book because of Harry's PTSD. However, he still has friends, he has people who genuinely love him, and he knows that. The happiness he feels around those he loves helps him overcome his PTSD, and I think Rowling did a good job when writing this book.
This month was pretty good reading month :) 4 books - "Lady Midnight" "CoTaR" "Blue lily, lily blue" and last but not least "alloy of law" - i gave all of them 5/5 ⭐️ My massage is "Regan continue reading Raven cycle ;) or Mistborn series because they're so good!" :D
From the beginning of the video on I was just like: matiiilda I know youre there cutie I CAN HEAR YOU. Anyway, you had a great reading month! Definitely going to pick up some of these books too.
I read a my little pony: friendship is magic fanfic a while ago (no shame) that had the same plot as the sudden appearance of hope, and I liked that a LOT, so maybe I should read the book about people haha
Love the video Regan! I plan on reading a few of the same books too. Also... I READ 14 BOOKS THIS MONTH!!! I've never read this much in one month; I was averaging 5-8 but this is just crazy! City of Glass by Cassandra Clare 7. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare 8. Saga, Volume 1 by Brian K. Vaughan 9. City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare 10. The Shadowhunter's Codex by Cassandra Clare 11. Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare 12. Smut by Karina Halle 13. Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken 14. City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
ACOMAF was just so amazing!
TRUTHWITCH. YASSSS!
The Sudden Appearance of Hope sounds amazing! I'll have to get my hands on a copy of Gena/Finn. Fable Haven sounds fun! I love adding new book titles to my TBR when I watch your videos :)
did you know Claire North has two pseudonyms (Kate Griffin & Catherine Webb) under which she writes adult urban fantasy/paranormal books? just thought i'd mention it since i figured you'd be interested in those

but yes acomaf is changing lives it is sweeping the nation. look at her go.
One of the thing that I love about your channel is that you bring up new books that no other booktuber talk about.
The Sudden Appearance of Hope sounds so interesting. Glad you enjoyed it. I'll have to add it to my wish list.
I just bought The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August because you raved about it so much and can't wait to read it!
Let me know if you like it :)
I really need to read ACOTAR
Good I'm not the only one😅
I haven't read it either
I bough it but I haven't read it yet 😂
ACOMAF was really good! Can't wait to see what happens in the next book! I also need to read Trials of Apollo.

dont worry i still havent read it either! i actually havent even read the first one! :X but i need to!
OMG do it! ACOTAR is amazing!
Apollo's flaming pansexuality made me soooo happy rick Riordan's writing has come so far in diversity ☺️
What's pansexuality?
+Reegan Kay it's a sexualitu where people love anyone regardless of gender or sex!! (You could also interpret Apollo as bisexual but personally I see him more as pan idk) heres a link for more info en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pansexuality
alecslibrary Soo, it's bisexuality, basically.
+Reegan Kay or.... Consider: instead of refusing to educate yourself with something as simple as a Wikipedia article and refusing a helpful attempt to help you understand the infinite and indefinite range of human gender and sexuality and turning to being unnecessarily snarky in UA-cam comments you could:

·pet a dog
·water a plant
·find some memes
·draw a picture
·play a sport
·go shopping
·call your grandmother
·educate yourself with the very simple links someone provided for you; here's one now! - fuckyeahbisexuals.tumblr.com/pansexualityvsbisexuality

Yay for a good reading month!
Hopefully this month I'm going to pick up The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August!

I read Fangirl this month. It was such a highlight for me. So so good.
Are you going to do a review/discussion on A Court of Mist and Fury?
Finally read the mistborn series thanks to you regan ❤️
I read the hidden oracle too! I thought it was good, but it felt slow for me until *spoiler alert* Meg turned on Apollo. that's when I was completely hooked/ intrigued!

Gena/Finn sounds like so much fun!! It all sounds so familiar haha!
Great wrap up!
I had very much the same feelings as you towards The Wolf Wilder, just that little bit underwhelming. Although you have tempted me to possibly pick up ACOMAF :)
May was an incredible reading month for me too! I cannot wait to read Sarah J Maas' series. Everyone loves it!

I read the first two books of the Captive Prince trilogy and I LOVED IT
Could you do a middle grade recommendations video ?
It's all about those female friendships! I'm still pretty tentative about reading ACOTAR and ACOMAF. I think at this point it's just been so hyped up that I would be easily let down by it..... I'm not completely writing it off but it's definitely not on the top of my tbr listm

Sounds like you had a wonderful reading month with all those high ratings :)
Hope June will be just as fantastic for you!
I still haven't read Truthwitch but your review of it might just make me pick it up this month. 😊 also fablehaven sounds intriguing. I'll have to check it out!
I already have 37 books on my TBR shelf and it keeps on piling up everytime I watch a new video from you or Jesse. I need to keep up 😂😂😂
Favourite booktuber ever.... LOVE your videos!!! 😆
i read the summer queen, how to train your dragon and the rose & the dagger😇
ACOMAF! Loved that book. Also read The Bone Season and The Winner's Kiss and loved them equally. :)
Have you ever heard of the Sisters Grimm series? It's a middle grade fantasy series that I think you would really enjoy
I still haven't read ACOTAR but I want to so damn badly! So many books, so little time!
Crying... Now i gta add MORE books to my TBR list 😭 So many book's and so little time!!!
I can't wait for Trials of Apollo but sadly it has to wait for a bit since I'm still going through the Percy Jackson series and then I have to go through the other series before I can get to this one but all of those books are definitely my goal for this year :)

Do you plan on doing a spoiler review of ACOMAF??? I would love to hear more about your thoughts on it!
Holy guacamole The Sudden Appearance of Hope sounds damn good.
ACOMAF absolutely SMASHED ACOTAR in the face.

I agree, but we unfortunately don't get to see how he it affects him after Volemort is gone.
may was also the best reading month for me this year cause i read 22 books
Always love your red glasses
YES YES YES! FABLEHAEVN IS FANTASTIC!!!!
:) Fablehaven does get better as it goes on. Three is really good, and four and five are my favorites!
The Beyonders trilogy by Brandon Mull is amazing 😊 it seems to be at the older part of "middle grade reading" level.
'Sudden appearance of hope' definitely gonna read this.
Sarah J Maas is AMAZING. The Throne of Glass series is just . . terrific.
Regan you make me want to read The Sudden Appearance of Hope.
That's a super power that one of the characters in Zeroes has.
I finally had gotten around to reading _Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe_, and I read it within two days.
This month was pretty good reading month :) 4 books - "Lady Midnight" "CoTaR" "Blue lily, lily blue" and last but not least "alloy of law" - i gave all of them 5/5 ⭐️
My massage is "Regan continue reading Raven cycle ;) or Mistborn series because they're so good!" :D
This was a great wrap up! My top 2 favorites are: The hidden Oracle & ACOMAF!(:
Hope sounds like The Silence from Doctor Who...
Omg ikr just less creepy
I read Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson and Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. I went from hilariously cracking up to crying for 45 minutes lol
From the beginning of the video on I was just like: matiiilda I know youre there cutie I CAN HEAR YOU. Anyway, you had a great reading month! Definitely going to pick up some of these books too.
I want to read ACOMAF so much but it's still hasn't been released in my country, not even in english :'(
Well, I'm adding Gena and Finn to my TBR list!
Can you do a fantasy recommendation video?
A good middle grade series is The Ranger's Apprentice by John Flanagan
You should read the Gameshouse novella trilogy by Claire North!
I personally feel like nobody talks about Fablehaven, and I agree that the beginning books weren't as good as the last books. I still loved it though!
Now I want to buy more books!
What about flamecaster by Cinda Williams Chima? Won't you talk of it???
NEED TO READ ACOMAF!!
hmm...might start reading Truthwitch to see what it's about
The land of stories : the wishing spell , I am really enjoying this book .
I read a my little pony: friendship is magic fanfic a while ago (no shame) that had the same plot as the sudden appearance of hope, and I liked that a LOT, so maybe I should read the book about people haha
AH Trials of Apollo was amazing, such a satisfying read to fill my Percy Jackson void.
Good to know that Apollo is actually good. Because so far everything outside of PJO has been a bit meh.
Love the video Regan! I plan on reading a few of the same books too. Also... I READ 14 BOOKS THIS MONTH!!! I've never read this much in one month; I was averaging 5-8 but this is just crazy!
