You're so making me want to check out this Brent Weeks series. This month I'm planning to get into HEIR OF FIRE, BEFORE THE FALL, & I'LL GIVE YOU THE SUN. Oh! Also MY LADY JANE. Happy reading!😊
OMG you have to read Heir of Fire simply because Rowan. That is all I'm going to say about that book. Also make sure that you are mentally prepared for I'll Give you the Sun. That book messed me up, but I love it! :)
Carly Davenport Thank you! So far I'm about 65 pages into I'll Give You the Sun and not sure if it's my bag, BUT I'm continuing to read, so we shall see! ^_^
i read these books in June the book thief- Markus Zusak delirium- Lauren Oliver Four-Veronica Roth Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe- Benjamin Alire Saenz The unbecoming of Mara Dyer- Michelle Hodkin 1984-George Orwell Crown-Kiera Cass
I read a bunch of books this month. First I finished Stars Above by Marissa Meyer, then I read A Book of Spirits & Thieves and Frozen Tides by Morgan Rhodes, then I finished Hero of Ages, read Elantris and Alloy of Law by Brandon Sanderson. All of those books were amazing!
Instead of sleeping, I immersed myself in fandoms and books. I had way too much time on my hands. Okay, prepare for the full list... (sigh) •A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness (●●●●●) •An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir (●●●●●) •The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken (●●●●●) •Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken (●●●●●) •In the Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken (●●●●●) •Through the Dark by Alexandra Bracken (●●●●) •Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell (●●●●●) •Prodigy by Marie Lu (●●●●●) •Champion by Marie Lu (●●●●●) •If I Stay by Gayle Forman (●●●) •Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristof (●●●●●) •The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner (●●●●●) •Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson (●●●●) •A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. +Titie andelina Wiji True, it's genious! I normally don't get emotional when I read books, but there was something in this book that made me really emotional. Almost cried :P
Impressive list. I think I only read If I Stay out of those. I see that you only gave it 3/5. It was the same for me, I found it a bit boring BUT I did watch he movie afterwards and it's so. friggin. good. I recommend it!
This month I read: Unrivaled - Alyson Noël The Song of Achilles - Madeline Miller The Dream Thieves - Maggie Stiefvater A Monster calls - Patrick Ness The search for WondLa - Tony DiTerlizzi Die Seiten der Welt 3 - Kai Meyer (it's a german book) I could've done better, but there were a few long books and I'm actually proud that I read them.
Two of my absolute favourite reads from June were The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton and the Curious Incident of the dog in the night-time by Mark Holden :)
The Grace Keepers sounds like the movie Water World, because of the whole no land, only water thing. I read 3 books, but I'm hoping to read more in July.
The Black Prism sounds super interesting! I really like the sound of that magic system, because it's different from anything I've ever read. Probably gonna have to check it out soon!
1) Flowers for algernon - Daniel Keyes 2)From the dust returned - Ray Bradbury 3)Nocturnes - Lépold Sédar Senghor 4) The human comedy - William Saroyan 5) the stranger - Albert Camus
I'm kind of in the same boat. I just started my internship and I only managed to read 2 books :/. But i'm also not as quick as a reader as you are. I'm always so impressed on how many books you can read in a month.
In June I read The Hawk Eternal by David Gemmell (5 Stars) Lodestar by Michael Flynn (1 Star) The Ghost Of Veronica Gray by Ken Eulo (4 Stars) Ink and Steel by Elizabeth Bear (4 Stars) Hell and Earth by Elizabeth Bear (3 Stars)
I love your comments about the Brent Weeks books. I'm gonna get to them soon :) my fav book this book was Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson. Can't recommend enough :)
Let's see-I read Rebel of the Sands, Flawed, the Epidemic, 2 of the Parasol Protectorate books, The Crown, Wolf by Wolf and Eleanor. The only one I hated was The Crown.
Picked up The Black Prism after your recommendation and it was so amazing I bought then next one immediately and am reading it now! Your book tastes are very close to mine so I love watching your videos!
I have been having my mind set on Brent Weeks for a while. Now that you talk about those two books, I outta put those on my list via my Goodreads account.
I've been super busy and just generally too stressed to read, but I read a darker shade of magic which was amazing:) can't wait to pick up the next book, I've heard it's even better.
I had a Sarah J Maas month. Read Queen of Shadows so I'm finally caught up on Throne of Glass. Yay! Then I reread ACOTAR and finally was able to dive in and read ACOMAF. Which was amazing!!! Now I have no more new Sarah J Maas books to read 🙁
I recently picked up The Black Prism and am really looking forward to getting into it. It's disappointing to hear that you didn't like The Gracekeepers. That was a book I hadn't heard any negative reviews for and now am questioning whether or not I want to pick it up. Great video, Regan! :)
For June, I read: A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab (5 stars) Fire Starter (Fluorescence, #1) by P. Anastasia (2.5 stars) Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer (5 stars) Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell (3.75-4 stars) Zenith by Sasha Alsberg (3 stars) Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1) by Anne Kaufman (5 stars) Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #2) by Marissa Meyers (5 stars)
I have been LOVING the finishing school series by Gail carriger!! it's such a good series!! and I just finished it last night, now I am reading first grave on the right series by darynda Jones and so far I'm loving it as well!!
I have never been this early to a video, ever... I finished The Unexpected Everything, and I started The Martian, I'm almost done with it and I've really really enjoyed it! OH, I also FINALLY read Miss Perigrine's Home for Peculiar Children. I really liked that too, and I want to read the rest of the books!
The magic system in Black Prism sounds alot like how the different color Lantern Corps use their powers in Green Lantern comics. Each color represents a different emotion you need to master to wield the power and if you master all emotions and colors, you can become a White Lantern and harness the power of life itself. Sounds interesting.
I barely read in June because of the reading slump I was in, which sucks since it's the beginning of summer. But I'm out of it now and have already read 2 books in July! Super pumped for this month!
I read 8 books in June, my favourites by far were Red Rising by Pierce Brown and Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff. I really like the sound of The Black Prism, I think I'll pick it up next time I have the chance! I was also looking forward to reading The Gracekeepers, but after your review I'm not so sure..
It's so interesting to me how you felt about the Gracekeepers, because I felt the complete opposite. Of course that's the beauty of reading etc, we all read the same words and feel such different things about them!
June was a terrible month for me, I read ACOMAF the second week and I only got through one other book because I COULD NOT and still CANNOT get over it! I'm so terrible, each day I just open up the book, read it and relive all of the feels.....not helping my book slump 😫😩
since your the only booktuber that read the demon king series which is one of my fav I always trust you when you talk about fantasy. so I picked up the name of the wind and the wise mans fear- oh my god im completely obsessed. im deff dragging it our bec i dont want to finish it lol. and it the only book i read in June (and im still reading it) im going to be so sad when i finish it.
I've been beyond busy this month but the books I did read are: •City of Glass •A Court of Thorns and Roses •City of Fallen Angels •A Court of Mist and Fury(OBSESSED)
I read ACOMAF, This Is Where It Ends and The Song of Achilles this month. I think you will really enjoy The Song of Achilles even though I had quite mixed feelings about it.
I felt exactly the same about The Gracekeepers - I anticipated it soo much, then did not really care for any of the characters. However, almost a year has passed since I have read it and I still find myself thinking about it a lot and recommending it to people. I feel like it is a book that needs some time to fully reach you and touches something within you that you only feel from time to time when you do not expect it :)
I read Sapphire Blue Emerald Green (both by Kerstin Gier) An Ember in the ashes- Sabaa tahir crown of Midnight Heir of fire Queen of Shadows (All 3 by Sarah J Mass)
Grace Keepers somehow sounds really interesting to me, I think mostly because of its oddity but now I'm struggling about whether I should give it a try or not aargh
Well done with the whole multi-tasking thing you've got going on. It's impressive how much you read and of course love how varied your choices are. I hope your internship is going well! :)
I read uprooted by Naomi Novic and I loved it! And I also stared the codex Alera series I'm one book in so far but I'm going to finish the rest this month :)
Earlyyyyyy! So far I've read The Returned and Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets in June. Both equally awesome especially since The Returned has an eerie supernatural vibe to it that I can't seem to shake off!
This month I read Wool and then Shift by Hugh Howey (currently reading Dust) and oh my lord those books are so incredible, definitely one of my new favourite series of all time I HIGHLY recommend them
I read Wool a couple of years ago after my sister hyped it up. I enjoyed most of the book, but the ending left me feeling less than satisfied. I only recently found out that it was part of the trilogy. Is it worth continuing?
+The Astonishing Ashley well I really enjoyed the second book, Shift, which is actually a prequel novel, so if you're interested in reading about what led to the Wool book I would recommend it :) i just spent some time looking at online reviews, and they are all pretty mixed... However I personally loved it and couldn't put it down. I haven't read much of Dust, but it picks up from where Wool left off (but also incorporates knowledge acquired from reading Shift, so you cant just skip it and go straight to Dust) and I'm interested to see where the story goes from here. Its up to you whether you want to continue, but my personal recommendation is to absolutely give it a go :) :)
I reread the Titans Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth and The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan. I also read the Crown by Kiera Cass and The Demigod Files by Rick Riordan so five books in all!
I just wanted to say that I love your videos. We kinda have the same taste in books and I really like your recommendations. Keep on keepin' on, you're amazing! x
these are the books i read in June! Salt to the Sea- Ruta Sepetys The Last Star- Rick Yancey Six of Crows- Leigh Bardugo The Winner's Crime- Marie Rutkoski Cannery Row- John Steinbeck Prince of Thorns- Mark Lawrence November 9- Colleen Hoover The Dig- Cynan Jones Six of Crows and Salt to the Sea were fantastic, but i was kind of disappointed in The Last Star and The Dig.
I haven't really read much this month, but I did read All the Bright Places and I cried and cried and cried and cried but it was REALLY good. Also, I haven't read it recently, but something similar to Grace Keepers (but is definitely better) is The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I also LOVE Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norell. It's a super long book (800-900 pages) but it is soooo good. I recommend those books to any and all book lovers
I read The Lovely Bones, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secret of the Universe, Everything I Never Told You, and Titans Curse. Of the non-Percy Jackson books, my favorite was Lovely Bones. Its such a beautifully haunting story.
I agree about the Gracekeepers being a bit disappointing. I gave it I think 3.5 stars in the end; I was too hoping for something eerie and magical, but there was just something missing.
I read This Is Where It Ends a couple days ago (which wasn't June) and that was an intense read, but also really good and I've been thinking about it a lot in the past few days. Also, I thought your dog's tags shaking in the background was my dog and I got so confused, I had to rewind to double check
I just picked up the black prism and I am currently marathoning the gemma doyle trilogy. hoping to finally get to the daughter of smoke and bone before the end of summer.
I read only four books this month 😧 Rebel of the sands by Alwyn Hamilton Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard The Rose and the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh Evermore by Alyson Noel Not my best month but it wasn't too bad!
This month I only read The Unexpected Everything and The Shadow of the Wind. Uni was hectic. Both were good, but perhaps bc of the hype I didn't enjoy them as much as I expected.
I don't read very fast but I did manage to read almost all of Steelheart. I'm a couple chapters into Part 4. I like it but there are some things about the plot that have me confused because I think they could have been solved easily if the characters just considered other options, but then I guess we wouldn't really have a story to read... That being said, I really really liked that the author killed off that character I'm not gonna spoil here. I really thought that the novel was gonna have a cliché ending with that person but I was so happy it didn't. Hopefully that one person does not magically come back to life in the last few chapters. Okay, rant over. Just wanted to say thanks for the recommendation.
I read The Black Prism in March and it was fantastic so I'm very happy that you picked it up and loved it :) I would also recommend reading Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks, it is completely different in case of plot, but equally good. I cannot immagine you not liking this series, read it please :D
So far I've read Passanger by Alexandra Bracken and A Court of Thorns and Roses and am currently reading A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas all three books that you recommended Reagan and I love them so so so much I can't wait for the sequel to Passanger and A Court of Mist and Fury is so amazing like I can not even put it down for longer than 30 minutes! 😂
this month I read danny the champion of the world by roald dahl, the witches also by dahl, americanah by chimamanda ngozi adichie and memoirs of a geisha by andrew golden
ironically, im a little late with the whole "books i read" because i finished two books in the last two days :p. i finished *cinder by marissa meyer* and i got halfway *red rising by pierce brown* in june, but i finished *scarlet* and *cress by marissa meyer* yesterday and today.
I read 6 books last month, which feels great since I had been in a massive reading slump since December last year (!). Anyway, top 3 of the month of June are probably: 1) Cell by Stephen King 2) Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut 3) The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins
I had a pretty successful reading month! 1. A court of most and fury 2. An ember in the ashes 3. Splintered 4. Unhinged 5. Ensnared 6. The unbecoming of Mara dyer
i tried to get through grace keepers because it was highly rated but to be honest I counld'nt get though it and had to skim the last 150 pages because i just wanted to know the ending.
I'm reading A Little Life right now and it started off slow, I was afraid I wasn't going to like it, but oh my god! I'm halfway through and it's breaking my heart I almost wish I didn't love it!
This month I mostly read Kody Keplinger (The DUFF, A Midsummer Nightmare, Shut Out and Lying Out Loud) and started the Legend trilogy by Marie Lu. Also, I just added Rebel of the Sands to my tbr list because it sounded amazing
How did you like A Midsummer's Nightmare? I read it three months ago and it was okay to me. In the beginning the main character really got on my nerves but towards the end I liked her a lot more...
It was okay, I guess. It's not usually the kind of book I read but my cousin recommended it to me so I gave it a shot. I feel like I would have liked it more if the parents did not approve of the relationship at all, I thought that was a bit... Unrealistic. The main character really got on my nerves as well! Not only in the beginning but all throughout the book, I did not like her one bit although the guy, Nathan, was such a great one! I loved him. (I'm sorry for any spelling mistakes, English is not my first language)
The last book I read this month was ACOMAF and I was OBSESSED. I need the third book now!!
I'm reading that right now and I've been trying to drag it on for days afjdfankdsjf I just don't want it to end!!
the black prism's magic system sounds amazing!!!!

You read huge books. I would say that's a really good wrap up.

I read The Summer I Turned Pretty a few weeks ago and thought it was great, I'm excited to pick up the sequel!
I only read 2 1/2 books in June but my favourite was definitely my favourite book of the whole year so far and that was Six of Crows!!!
The Black Prism sounds super interesting! I really like the sound of that magic system, because it's different from anything I've ever read. Probably gonna have to check it out soon!
1) Flowers for algernon - Daniel Keyes
2)From the dust returned - Ray Bradbury
3)Nocturnes - Lépold Sédar Senghor

I reread the Titans Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth and The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan. I also read the Crown by Kiera Cass and The Demigod Files by Rick Riordan so five books in all!
I just wanted to say that I love your videos. We kinda have the same taste in books and I really like your recommendations. Keep on keepin' on, you're amazing! x
I only read like two books last month:
Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass
and
The Raven Boys
How was 'The Raven Boys' ?:o
Like nothing I've ever read before. I would highly recommend it.
these are the books i read in June!
Salt to the Sea- Ruta Sepetys
The Last Star- Rick Yancey
Six of Crows- Leigh Bardugo
The Winner's Crime- Marie Rutkoski
Cannery Row- John Steinbeck
Prince of Thorns- Mark Lawrence
November 9- Colleen Hoover
The Dig- Cynan Jones
Six of Crows and Salt to the Sea were fantastic, but i was kind of disappointed in The Last Star and The Dig.
I found The Black Prism for $2.99 on Kindle and grabbed it up thanks to your reviews of it!!
I read only four books this month 😧
Rebel of the sands by Alwyn Hamilton
Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard
The Rose and the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh
Evermore by Alyson Noel
Not my best month but it wasn't too bad!
You're Amazing Regan!! I appreciate the time you put into your videos!! (:
I read 14 books this month woohoooo. Maybe I need to get some friends...
When you have books, who needs friends?
books are friends
+Meghan Johnson yes
I want to read "The Black Prism" so badly, but unfortunately Polish edition is really hard to get. It hurts.
i read 10 books this month, all over 500 pages. up to 58 books this year!
this month I read danny the champion of the world by roald dahl, the witches also by dahl, americanah by chimamanda ngozi adichie and memoirs of a geisha by andrew golden
ironically, im a little late with the whole "books i read" because i finished two books in the last two days :p. i finished *cinder by marissa meyer* and i got halfway *red rising by pierce brown* in june, but i finished *scarlet* and *cress by marissa meyer* yesterday and today.
I read 6 books last month, which feels great since I had been in a massive reading slump since December last year (!). Anyway, top 3 of the month of June are probably:
1) Cell by Stephen King
2) Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut
3) The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins
QUESTION!!!! What to take in college for book lovers that really aren't sure what to do about college and university???
I had a pretty successful reading month!
1. A court of most and fury
2. An ember in the ashes
3. Splintered
4. Unhinged
5. Ensnared
6. The unbecoming of Mara dyer
I'm reading the "I am number four" series. It is really good. You won't be able to put it down.
i tried to get through grace keepers because it was highly rated but to be honest I counld'nt get though it and had to skim the last 150 pages because i just wanted to know the ending.
I'm reading A Little Life right now and it started off slow, I was afraid I wasn't going to like it, but oh my god! I'm halfway through and it's breaking my heart I almost wish I didn't love it!
This was the most aesthetically pleasing thumbnail
Damn, I can't even get through one book a month.
Same bruh
Why? It's easy if you have the time
