In this video, I am sharing how I was able to fix squeaking and knocking suspension sounds coming from the upper control arm. This is shown on the example of Lexus/Toyota, but the same principals will also work on many other car brands as well. - Навчання та стиль

Please let me know if i can use wd40 for upper arm ?
The best lubricant I have found for any bushing on a vehicle is AT205 Reseal. It rejuvenates the rubber and makes it stop squeaking. Nice video
This is exactly what is making me crazy at the moment. Both the official car repair center and the tire care specialist could not figure it out and explained me many fairy tale which they told I have to accept, suffer in silence and go home. Thanks for sharing.

You can see where someone has used a hammer on the steering knuckle at 2:03. That ball joint separator is a great tool.
Yeah, that was there before me. Not a good idea to wack the knuckle like that.

same for me, especially if im going uphill and have to drive like stop and go (uphill with speedbumps for example) Hoping that this is the reason why
I replaced both my upper control arms on my ek hatch... Within 10km the passenger one was squeaking like this. Had it replaced under part warranty and the next one did the same within 50km. Got my money back and have 2 brand new upper control arms now... I'm going to try this today! 🤞

You don't know how long this noise has been bugging me on my jaguar xj. Couldnt find it myself. Finally took it in and was told it was the upper control arm. Been watching videos on how to charge it. Seen this video before I actually ordered parts and thought I'd give it a try with the lubrication. It worked!! I'm shocked. I'm not sure how long it'll last without making the noise but I hope it gives me a while because the part looks fine.

Thanks for the video. I was inspecting the upper control arm after replacing the front left tire due to similar sounds. I lubricated but now the bolt doesn't want to go back in. It just keeps spinning and spinning. Any ideas?
the same thing thats happening to my car .will the removal of the arm mess with the cars alignment?

wow so turns out my squeaking was due to me not jacking up my arms to the correct height when I retorqued the bolts. Thanks for helping me figure that out!

I have the same issue but on a 2013 VW Passat. THANK YOU!!! I’m pretty sure it’s similar problem. Dealer wanted $600 to replace the upper arm link 🤦♂️

Is it possible to leave the wheel on and just spray the lubricant all over the two bushings? It’s probably going to hit other let’s of the arm but that should be a problem right?

my UCA is brand new, but I suspect the bushing was not greased, I hear squaking and whistling.
I order new bushing but it be here between 40 days to 36 days from now, will these brand new bushing last that long without grease??
My Toyota Rav 4 is once again has a crunching noise when going over bumps/uneven ground. I hear it primarily in the back. Any idea what this is? I figure its the struts and mounts?

Factory specs are super important in ensuring the housing for the bushing is clamped down completely or you will just have a ton of play, hence, the clunk, clunk...

Lol I've been trying to look for the same squeaking sound from other vids concerning brakes. Come to find out from the mechanic its my control arm for my dodge but the squeak is much louder.

Its can be ANYTHING really... My truck just started squeaking REALLY bad. Right after i replaced both control arms with brand new one. So NEW parts actually made mine start squeaking

My car is brand new and is about 6 months old. I drove through some low flood recently and it started squeaking exactly like the video (it has been about 3 days since). Is it possible that it will go away on its own or do I have to spray some lubricant on it?
It probably won’t. Mine was squeaking for a long time until I got enough of it...
@@DIYtimeTRD Thanks for the reply. I washed my undercarriage when I was cleaning my car, got rid most of the sound but there's still a teeny weeny bit of it. Will try to wash it again and see if it goes. If not, guess the silicone lubricant spray it is for me.

This might explain why I hear the knocking sound after replacing my upper control arms. Does the upper control arm's ball joint have to be tightened under load too or just the two mounting bolts ?
I think just those two.
My upper ball joint has a spec of 38 foot pounds. 04ram15003.7liter sometimes all you need is wd40 to kill a squeek
@@jaimejay6056 Do you think Wd40 is also good enough for the rubber bushing? Or better bushing or silicone spray for the rubber?
Bushings spray is better for sure. WD40 may deteriorate the rubber.

that siicone spray wont work long. squeaky noise will start soon...better to change bush..
So you guys must have way less strict inspections with your cars? Because if I take a car like that (the ball joint is clearly loose) to inspection it might not even pass and at least if its only a minor problem tehy will give you kinda like a warning and if you get 3 of those it will not pass.
We don’t have inspections at all down here...
Mine come back with in 24hrs of spraying them. Noise just don't go away
What lubricant did you use?
Your engine sounds like it have valvetrain tic- check for blow by in your oil cap!
Normal for 250 and 350 just injector ticking

Better off just replacing the whole upper control arm bro. I paid 130$ In parts and 60$ in labor charge.
