Thanks for this video, this is the 1 zone I just feel out of control Been practicing like crazy to smooth this out. You breaking it down with the whys and the slow-mo video helped my brain soak in some of the concepts. I will work on this over the weekend. One thing for me, is I often feel like my upper body wants to keep moving away from the box after going over and I have been working on stopping that top-heavy momentum. I will have to see if this helps me there.
Dude! I’ve been a subscriber for a while now and I had no idea your Deka & Hyrox performances were so BEAST. Inspiring sir, thanks for sharing your experience my man
Hi, first, thank you for this video explanation. As I was searching I ran into a second problem, first one being that I’m 5’3 and my thigh is the shorter half than the rest of my leg, what’s a possible strategy for shorter people to do this without tripping or falling flat on our face? I’d love to find an effective way to accomplish without that fear. And secondly, I searched through several videos before finding something usable for the DEKA. There just wasn’t any usable material for this. And while it’s still great info, my height and/or length of my legs is still that much more of an obstacle. But having some advice on the topic is better than nothing. TY
Perspective from a tall person: we have a huge disadvantage with movements like the reverse lunge and burpees. It all evens out in the end when you consider the totality of all zones in a Deka competition.

I'm 4 foot 11. I step up and cross over and down. Due to my height I can't get a good rhythm and "hop". It's just a slower station for me.
Any recommendations for shorter athletes to mitigate the leg length differences?

do you have tips for someone who is shorter 5'1". I struggle to find a rhythm.
