How To Level Your Lawn With Sand

- I finally did it! I ordered 9 tons of USGA grade sand to level my lawn with a DIY leveling drag, a leveling rake, and a brush. I needed to made my Kentucky bluegrass lawn level so that I can use my reel mower to throw down stripes and create a uniform look. Putting sand on your lawn is easy but takes a bit of elbow grease. Any can topdress their lawn with sand if they want too.

This video has motivated me to get off this damn couch and go out and spot level some areas in my front yard today. I'm going to sift some soil and mix in some sand. Maybe I will grow a set and try full sand next year. Thanks for motivating me. Very interested how the lawn recovers.
So I'll be doing an update video this week after I get over this flu, but I can tell you it recovered pretty good except for some of the really deep spots but if I recall you've topdressed with soil so your probably in pretty good shape. Overall I'm pleased.
Hey Matt - I like you. I've got heavy clay soil and the worst thing I could do to it would be to add SAND! Just to warn those folks unfortunate like me to have clay soil.
Having clay soil is not an issue with adding sand in 99.9 percent of scenarios. Thanks for stopping by!!

You gotta rent that machine that Conner gets now. Would make it way easier, at least it looks that way from his video. I am super interested in a heavy overseeding of my yard this fall with 365SS KBG. It is SOOO expensive though at $410/50lb bag. I have over 20K sqft. I really want to see what this lawn looks like now. Been waiting for a new upload for quite some time. Thanks for posting your videos here, it looks great so far from what I can see, nice work!
Dude, after doing this, I wish, I wish, so bad, that I had that machine. It's super efficient. And I do apologize for not putting out more content this year. Every is fine with myself and family but it's been a tough year with the young kids and time this year. I can send you a recent picture of the lawn if you'd like. Really liked your video. I live in NW Indiana and sandy soil. New lawn as of last year and need to get level. I use a toro zero turn. What did you use behind your zero turn to level? It almost looks like a wood pallet?

Great video dude! That rake really worked well. Did you have to water in the sand afterwards, or are you able to just rake and brush it in and be good to go?
I just brush it in and water it if we don't go to get rain, which we did for like 3 straight days afterwards lol.
