I’m not trying to compliment Nyma just for likes, but can we all just allow ourselves to love her naturally? Because she is setting an example for me and hundreds of dark skinned black women and men. We didn’t even have ACTUAL shades for us until about 3 years ago.

Personally I think Nyma doesn't need any foundation, cause her skin is sooo flawless. She can literally just pop a setting powder and she's ready for the red carpet.

she has great skin and she doesn’t need foundation, but that’s beside the point. she does these videos to bring attention to the fact that many brands don’t have enough shades for P.O.C.

Makeup has come a long way. I remember seeing "faves" like Oprah with a gray cast on their face, not realizng that makeup just did accommodate us back then . Love you for representing us and being a voice for the deeply melanted beauties. Take care Nyma :-)

I've definitely seen comments in the past about how she "complains too much" and should "be grateful for what she gets" under other beauty gurus who mention her. Funny how they're never brave enough to come to her actual channel. 👀 Sis has her haters, but when push comes to shove her lovely demeanor and positivity shines through, so she attracts positivity. 👏🏾

The fenty foundation is over priced. It more expensive than Dior! So I got Dior backstage foundation. It's actually amazing and they make shades with undertones to really compliment darker skin tones.
They definitely tried to formulate a perfect shade match for the people they knew would review it.
I'm glad someone finally did. I always found it strange that no makeup team caught on to the fact that we all consider it a failed launch if her color is unavailable.

I’ll always be astounded by the fact that these huge designer brands have had very models with very deep skin tones work for them for quite some time now and not until recently have they started making shades that work for their skin tone

This is the first video of her that i watched and I'm mesmerized by how beautiful her skin is. I personally suffer from very dry skin and I'm super jealous of how beautiful her skin is even without makeup its like she's glowing from within
It must be a combo of good genes and a good skincare routine, my skin is also super dry and her skin actually glows
@@SimBits definitely good genes, no matter how much body oil or lotion or cream i apply it always goes back to being dry and flaky
My skin is also dry af no matter what I do to hydrate it. I wonder if the melanin affects hydration at all like how I burn maybe it dried out more even if it doesn't get to the point of a burn. Idk

I get tired of comments like this. I understand you’re trying to be nice and potentially genuine, but it seems like it would be very annoying if ppl commented on your skin tone all the time. Can Nyma post a video without ppl commenting on her skin. I only see these comments on ppl who post videos that are either very pale or dark. And for that reason it seems disingenuous.
@@SimBits I'm right there with you as far as being extremely pale but I have really healthy looking skin from a loooong process of finding the right care routine and eating better.

I’ve been watching Nyma for almost four years and literally every time I’ve watched one of her videos I’m always thinking “Damn her skin looks amazing!” Can we also take a moment to appreciate how beautiful the wigs she wears are too? Can we talk about how far these companies have come making products for darker individuals? We are moving in the right direction and I love it. Unfortunately when you are white like me it’s hard to relate to the smallest things like having matching foundation and you really don’t get the struggles black people go through. Most of us try to get it and empathise but yeah you don’t think of little things. Nyma you look STUNNING AND BEAUTIFUL UGH! 💕💕💕

OBSESSED with how Nyma just shrugs and says she'll just do a reverse contour like it's the easiest thing in the world (and doing it FLAWLESSLY). Me, over here frantically Googling how to do a reverse contour...
God I love it so much, she's so good with making things work for her and bring her features out beautifully! Sadly I'm so bright there's nothing light enough to do that with unless I go for clown makeup 😭 I've given up on contouring due to how muddy all bronzers end up looking on me, but I heard that KVD has some insane light shades!

To be fair it’s a fairly trendy packaging color and theme nowadays. I’d say it’s a dupe to Fenty, Rare, and KKW Beauty.
I think they were trying to play off of their Gucci Bloom perfume packaging, which is also that pink color.
Pretty sure Gucci bought from the same packaging manufacturer as Fenty does

From every review I've watched from Nyma she seems to be pointing the same mistakes brands continue to make. When brands finally release very deep shades they don't offer a variety of undertones, they tend to stay on the neutral side always so I don't know what's going on. There has been a lot of improvement in the complexion realm from the last 4 years till now but brands could still push a little bit more.
Anyway, at least one more foundation that sorta matches Nyma's face and she looked flawless as usual.

The primer looks matt but with a satiny finish rather than gloss/oily.
Yes, it made me think of satin finish in paint. Not completely matte like eggshell, but not shiney like gloss.

Back when I originally review this foundation, I wanted you to try the deeper shade because I felt like it was going to work for you. While I do think that it works great for your face, I did agree that your neck did look darker. The struggles of finding that balance, I feel you. But I will say that it looks incredible on you! The match was so good! I’m so happy review this foundation.
I always thought there were supposed to be all the different undertones in each shade but so often we see a range of dark and then one deep shade. It’s ridiculous....like not everyone that is deep is going to have the exact same undertone

Luminous and matte is kinda like dry water. Not really a thing! Props to Gucci for having a decent dark range but yes they skipped over a couple that would have made sense. The line is like Meh. So many other great alternatives for same or less coin. You look amazing as always.

@@Kendruh No it has nothing to do with makeup. Gucci had released a fashion piece which was a Balaclava that was Blackface. A lot of black people including myself were highly offended because of it. We were all going to boycott the fashion house. Alessandro Michele even wrote an apology statement because of it.
