I think when other semi aquatics are added it will make all the water source dangerous and I think it’s good that Deino can’t inhabit every water source in the game. Those water source can go to bary and suchos
I’ve heard this opinion before quite often and I honestly agree they could hunt juvenile deino’s and injured or off guard adults and provide food for adults if caught off guard or in a bad situation and with sucho and bary being more land based than deino they possibly wouldn’t compete as much with deino probably more with each other

@@profilenotfound2525I don’t quite get what you are upset about. When the semi-aquatic roster gets fleshed out, they will also be something to deal with at the “non-deino spots”. And while deinos currently only hunt land dinos, they are fully intended to hunt the other semi/aquatic playables just as much.

9:00 as a Ptera, migration is forced upon you based on fish availability. Generally you can spend a half hour by a lake, but then it is empty and you have to move to a different lake. I have spent a lot of time flying hungry checking every body of water to find some fish or a carcass. That feels realistic. I have always ignored the migration marker.
The Developer for the map needs to have every class in mind when he's making one honestly, I hate when people say ''Not every area needs to cater to a certain class!'' Eeerr, yes, yes it does, when the map isnt suited for all the classes they add, then it'll make a lot of them obsolete. Like right now my biggest irritation with the map is how poorly it suits Herrera in most areas, those thin palm trees that have no were to rest on them doesnt count and that's what's scattered around 95% of the migrations areas. There's barely a reason to even leave South anymore as a Herrera and to me, that's a problem, because the rest of the map just doesnt support it but as a main of it, I want to be able to thrive in all areas and die to my own failures...Not because the map was trash or everyone was playing the same class. The map needs a lot of work, a poor map makes for poor gameplay just as much as a overpowered class does.
I feel like the whole map shouldn't cater to any playable. Simply because an ecosystem to work there needs to be areas that work better for other species, but I do also believe that everywhere should be accessible for any playable to survive, some areas may be harder to survive in than others depending on what you choose to play but should still be a fair chance. Also because migration is different for each playable, some share the same some don't. Hope this made sense :)
@@ucjgaming yeah I think I agree with you like I don’t think a T. rex should be up on a mountaintop and I would find it cool if they did have naturally rare species across the map like sable antelope in Kruger National Park there around only 260 individuals in a National Park that’s the size of a small country because they prefer a certain habitat I think for herbivores like homalocephale would be cool as mini mountain goats or pikas biting and head ramming small predators and hiding in rock crevices from larger predators and being secluded to high cliffs and mountains I know that the devs are probably just going to make it a mini pachi but I think that would be cool and I say herbivores because I think carnivores in a secluded area of the map would not be a good idea because of food shortages and you having to leave and compete with other carnivores that’s why in my opinion there should at least be a couple areas that caters to your specific playable for your prey and habitat
@@ucjgaming I would be fine with different biomes better suited for certain things, its how it should be, the problem with The isle tho is the players, most of them congregate in the same areas as the same classes, its so difficult to get everyone spaced out and playing different things. At this point I dont know whats the solution, its not like you can control player decisions after all.

I wish there were drinkable water spots on the islands off the coast. I went over there as a troodon and loved it, but couldn’t stay because I’d dehydrate. Why let us go over there?!

I think the diet system really fucks the fun for in the game being forced to be in specific areas or being forced to hunt specific dinos that are probably not even being played, only to be punished with absurdly long growth and an over all weaker character

I think they should incorpate some sort of system where when the Deino walks along the migration zone, it's stamina and dehydration drains are reduced by maybe a 3rd or something? While out of combat and on land, ofc.
@@ucjgaming it'll give them a little extra chance to get to the harder to reach spots, while also avoiding making it too advantageous to fight/hunt in the zones. Also, it'd make land deino ambushes more common since they'd actually be able to move around outside the water while waiting for prey.
I personally love the new map. On spiro growing was a lot harder since you constantly ran into people. And once you grew up you pretty much deathmatched until you died. On gateway the game feels slower and more chill. It’s safer to grow and move around. And once you’re adult you have a choice if you want to fight or not. There’s enough room now to stay away from others and nest for example.
I wish that was the case for me. Definitely more room for sure but I'd say way too much room as if you don't go to a hotspot then it's so rare that you'll see anyone else. It should be more spread out, not saying everyone should be next to each other and nesting is so rare now that it's like it's not even part of the game anymore
"slower and more chill" is the exact opposite of what people want in a dino game. If you want slow and chill, go play "care bears sitting by the campfire while chatting in global simulator" because that's what people like you want to do. The rest of us want to actively run around the map, hunting other players with as little downtime as humanly possible. Hunting other players is the ONLY reason we play dino games.

Its pretty clear that Gateway is just in a placeholder state for us to play on while they develop it further and push updates out. Its getting there slowly but surely. I absolutely love this game regardless. Looking forward to playing as Diablo soon and hopefully with mutations involved. Keep up the great content mate
Players: work on humans, dinosaurs, and fix bugs Devs: let’s remake combat, animations, maps, stamina, ai, growth, and camera system for no reason in particular.
Unless they finish everything else first, adding humans is going to cause more problems than its worth, especially if they try to force it on everyone like they sound like they actually want to
I think Gateway even though was not even close to being perfect was a positive, it is far better than Spiro in terms of it's design but one enormous issue with it is the performance. Like I admit I do have a tendancy to want to play this game on the highest graphs settings because it looks so damn beautiful but I shouldn't need an RX6750XT, a graphics card meant for 1440p gaming to play it on 1080p highest and get 50-60 fps. Yea they added FSR and all but it doesn't even work (I don't even know if DLSS does) and I have no idea why they made it so that Nvidia GPUs can't use FSR, not everyone has an RTX card and if FSR worked and was available to everyone including people with GTX cards, they could at least get some decent upscaling to improve their frames. Other than that pretty much every issue I have with this game are player behaviour issues, though I guess there are community servers for that.
Yeah in the last update it absolutely ruined my FPS, so strange as I have a good card, I have a 3070 and never had an issue until now really, stuck on 25-30fps 🥹
Problem that i have is that they release update once a year and they fup so bad. We expected TREX to be released at new year(2024) now it's almost june, half a year later not a single word, dafuq. Mark my words GTA6 will be released and we wont get trex and problem with fps will NOT be fixed. Im playing with intel i9 and rtx 4080 and my pc DIE, fps is disaster no mather what graphic settings i set. I was playing deino and ptera before gateway so now game is basically dead for me. Yeah, all good points, I do think it is getting better and is destined to be a great game, my take on issues of updates and features messing with the game is that its a 'work in progress' by a small team trying to do something with a game that has never really existed before, so its all new ground to be trodden on, to be honest I am enjoying the development an the drama it can bring, its fascinating watching such a small Dev team tackle such difficult problems in a game genre that really has never existed before, we are still yet to see some of the truly huge Dinos, these will mix things up a lot
Yeah I can't even imagine something like Rex appearing through the bushes 😅 It will be scary but fun! And true at least the drama gives me something to talk about as well xD But I want my Dibble already 😈
i feel like gateway overall has been an improvement, and the stamina system is at least playable now. my favorite recent change is how they redistributed weight growth with % growth, making it feel like you grow faster and can participate in the game more earlier on. i do think migrations just create temporary hotspots that you can't choose to leave if herbivore, so i wish those were better tho :/ if i miss anything about spiro, it was how center map was like an open arena for fights haha
Yeah that is also what I miss about Spiro, you'd know if you wanted a fight you could go there or even avoid centre if needed. Migration definitely needs improving more and hotspots are ok but there need to be more not just 1-2
Only problem I have with this map is how large it is, and how little interspecies interaction there is. A Herrera can go it’s full life on server (with full life meaning like, 10 hours?) without ever meeting a different species, even in more popular areas. Deinos half the time literally HAVE to be cannibals or need a full fish diet otherwise, because you just don’t come across any players!
Definitely wrong about deino. There's always people playing them. They just don't make up 25% of the server now, which is actually good. Now there's only maybe 5 or so on the map at a time, which is honestly perfect when there's only 100 players.
So I am right ok saying less people play Deino now then 😅 And yeah no need for there to be so many Deinos, but I do believe the system for them should be slightly improved

I’m glad you made this video because I was wondering if Gateway really lived up to the hype after all the complaints I heard after it was released I wish there were more maps available to play on I wish they would add desert maps to the game again I miss the Grim Expanse they could make like a parody of the Nile having forests, swamps, jungles, and grasslands around rivers or ponds and bodies of water and you have vegetation like aloe’s and shrubs the further into the desert they could even have this map be the main weather system map with droughts lowering bodies of water and add a digging mechanic for certain or all playables were you dig pits to get access to water like chimpanzees and feral donkeys I’m kind of more certain playables like ceratopsian’s and sauropods along with hadrosaurs making them keystone species and a valuable member of any herd they could add human structures like pyramids or sand covered chariots I just wish they would do something different with each map environment like with a certain jungle on the map there could be a forest clearing with edible plants or offshore islands with a different landscape I’ve always wanted a map were each island was different and players would swim across to their preferred island the islands don’t have to be huge and for crying out loud the devs could even make a mountain map since they like cliffs so much
I think we are already in the mountain map 😅 But yes exactly that would be great! They should have allowed us to play in Spiro and Gateway in my opinion, and also a desert map would be cool! Definitely would be nice to see an actual variety of maps or at least bioms
@@ucjgaming yeah I actually have a ideas for the concept artwork like the colorized nesting grounds artwork if that’s official off a Diablo mega herd nesting spot on the desert river shores and them aggressively charging a T. rex that tried to ambush them from the sand dunes and the scarred T. rex roaring back at the angry herd and another of a screenshot from the finished map gameplay off a T. rex resting on a giant sand dune with the sun going down and in the background are pyramids directly behind him and another were a Para couple are drinking from a hole they dug using the digging mechanic with a Dryo herd following them in a dried out pond and later a T. rex coming to drink out the same hole the devs could totally make this desert map a thing and that’s my thing with the devs if you aren’t going to try and improve the maps and here people complain about it then why not allow people to mod the maps they may even get some ideas from some of them and it encourages people to play and get the game Path of Titans is already doing it so why not do something similar

gateway compared to spiro has made dienos alot more cannibals since..like you said not really many people beside two spots you can go to for dieno. So its dienos eating dienos unless you're at east plains pond, or south plains river, hence tons of players. Its kinda sad really.
The answer is NO. This game has lost THOUSANDS of players over the last few years. I used to play Legacy with over 100 people in my various Discord channels. Now in 2024, NONE of them play The Isle. Everyone I know has completely abandoned this game. They all play Path of Titans now. Evrima is garbage with no fun dinos to play.
In my opinion, this is what the game needs. We need the apex’s Rex and triceratops, 2 semi aquatic dinosaurs probably scaling in the medium rage size one carnivore one herbivore. increase the size of the crock to make it a true Apex. (long grow time though, should be a real challenge) One more semi aquatic apex herbivore. Nesting needs changing its dead right now. One way I can think of making it better would be to give the player the option to still create what skin he wants despite what the parents look like. I also think that there should be a permanent growth buff maybe 5%. There should be a player increased count on the server maybe 150. AI dinosaurs, that act like Real dinosaurs and play by the same rules as players that is reasonable of course, obviously AI needs help here and there. And I could go on and on, but I am going to leave it here. I also want to add that I stop playing the game four months ago don’t plan on coming back till 2025 beginning of the year.
lol talking about small ponds. youll be surprised to find a deino in the west rail access pond and think well im gonna drink here because why the eff would an adult deino even try to get here about the map size, yes it quite big and people stick around to much but the easy fix is to populate it with much more AI to make it attractive to move around and explore, gets more immersive and you have to make decisions or rather be carefull if you deal with an AI or a human player. if the bring rex and other apexas they really need to stretch out players over the map with this because you can already imagine discord groups with three or more apexas clearing out an entire migration zone because reasons
I hate how the map ruined ptera. And the map itself has quite a terrible design. Everyone says "just use online map", but this just means the design is bad if they don't give us in-game maps.
I only play Deino. The new map has drastically reduced my other dino encounters and now its a fish or other deino diet only. And as someone who wont eat deinos unless absolutely dying of starvation. I hate it. I miss having hot spots like central.
Dont mind the map but it needs some small changes, to me its very resrictive to many mountains and slopes you cant walk up a few to many rocks all over the place.
honestly imo idrk care about how the gameplay is when i barely can get 40 fps in a good spot on the lowest setting possible the isles performance is absolutely the worst preforming game I've and like 99% of the player base have ever played on top of the 100 bugs that fk you over every 5 mins and make you have to relog. I cant count the amount of times I've had to relog. I swear i relog more than i play the game. i feel the player base would double if they could play the dam thing and not be looking at a slide show presentation.

The gateway has a problem with traveling because domes, ravines and other cool shit looks awsome but makes the gateway really closed and cramped. There is also the road system wich makes it easier to travel but makes everything look so unnatural in my opinion Like few roads is nice but gateway is just ROADS everwhereee
Yeah all these roads yet very unfinished humans. Not that I want humans right now to be finished but it's very random that all of these structures and roads are there now lol Even tho yes it does look cool!
The last time i played was V3 and a tiny bit of thenyaw (or whatever it was called) and to me, Gateway is an extreme improvement. Also the first time I got to play Deino and I love it, have played it almost exclusively. I do agree we need more waterways tho, so much of the map is entirely inaccessible to us. That said, you are factually wrong about lakes being unreachable as deino. You can absolutely reach every single body of water as a deino. Wether thats a good idea or not is a different question.
I mean I'm sure you can reach them all when young, all ponds or lakes/rivers. But when you're big and much slower with worse stam, you'll die if you decide to go back to certain spots which could isolate you
@@ucjgaming The contrary is true in fact. At least the two lakes to the north west I can reach easily as full grown deino, even without going into dehydration if my pathing is efficient enough. Apparently the path to the far east lake is quite dangerous as adult deino since you're easy to spot, WILL go into dehydration and chances are when you get there, there's another deino waiting to one shot you. From what ive been told, they did some changes to deino run speed a little while back. Maybe thats where the misconception comes from. Baby deinos have stam for days, but run and swim awfully slow.
@@pineapplepizzasandwich1974from what I’ve heard and seen through gameplay videos water isn’t exactly deino’s problem since when traveling on land it can deal with dehydration pretty surprisingly well I think food is the issue because certain bodies off water can be dead spots and when you do make a kill everyone knows that there’s a deino in the water I could be completely or slightly wrong they could have nerved or buffed it feel free to correct me or add information

@@danthethomasfan2256 Schooling fish give 5% food and 10-20% dots diet per fish. So long as youre not on a "no AI" server, food will never be an issue.
Scale the whole landscape on the Z axis to about 0.35. It would still be a nice map, but it would have less steep hills. Of course I understand it's not actually that easy. But would you actually miss the steepness.
Outstanding observation concerning the devs going 0 to 100. I always say they are "all or nothing". They have got to learn the middle ground. It's either Ai everywhere or Ai nowhere. Its either dark all the time or getting daylight at 5am. Good job on this.
@@ucjgaming I agree actually that bit by bit is a problem for them. I think it's that they're young and trying to understand what balance is. Balance is a very tricky thing to figure out. The natural tendency is to go from one extreme to the other trying to find "balance". Shaving just a little bit off is harder than we think. If that makes sense. I like the Evrima map, but there is still way too much wasted space. Lately I've noticed some previously empty spots now have some AI at least, but the map could really use a lot of improvements - different ecosystems, zones, etc. And the AI is still an issue, still not working correctly. I love this game and have played for years, and what it does well, it does really well, but Lord a'mighty, development is so slow and spotty!
I stoped playing becouse of this map... I spawn in and if I'm not killed the second I start to walk then I go and either starve or fall of clifs... It's frustraiting. One time I was able to find water, diet and some other ppl and the ducking server crushed 😒
Yeah it's not been a pleasant experience for most since the release of Gateway, which is a shame as it was meant to be the next successful part of The Isle. But I must say Hord Testing is showing some real improvements
Gateway is a great map, I just hope spiro doesn’t disappear and at least returns as a server option for those who are nostalgic for it, good practice/vibe server too. Also I sure as heck hope AI playables never return, the tenos were nice for carnivores who needed food, but they were a nightmare for tenos looking for groups
I know a lot of people hate AI dinos but i feel like theyre needed. The map is huge, it needs more going on and more food options. Maybe make AI dinos follow the mz religiously. theyre definitely needed tho. Also this is just me dreaming but i could imagine myself playing troodon and not finding enough for a pack, but being able to nest in AI to keep my pack numbers up to be able to hunt. When they die i could nest in more. I know it prolly wouldnt work well but i think itd be cool.
I wouldn't say it was made just for deino it's more of a semi aquatic map for all semi aquatics only problem is deino is the only one in game beipi is to but no one really cares about that guy
Spiro was pretty much designed for Deino, so anywhere you'd go the threat would be pretty high of an attack by one. But in Gateway it's pretty rare to find a Deino unless you know where they usually are

If the new mutations get released you will be able to drink saltwater and recover hydration during rain etc

I think they should incorpate some sort of system where when the Deino walks along the migration zone, it's stamina and dehydration drains are reduced by maybe a 3rd or something? While out of combat and on land, ofc.
That could be interesting, it would at least give the waters a more of a reason to fear again
@@ucjgaming it'll give them a little extra chance to get to the harder to reach spots, while also avoiding making it too advantageous to fight/hunt in the zones.
Also, it'd make land deino ambushes more common since they'd actually be able to move around outside the water while waiting for prey.

I personally love the new map. On spiro growing was a lot harder since you constantly ran into people. And once you grew up you pretty much deathmatched until you died. On gateway the game feels slower and more chill. It’s safer to grow and move around. And once you’re adult you have a choice if you want to fight or not. There’s enough room now to stay away from others and nest for example.
I wish that was the case for me. Definitely more room for sure but I'd say way too much room as if you don't go to a hotspot then it's so rare that you'll see anyone else. It should be more spread out, not saying everyone should be next to each other and nesting is so rare now that it's like it's not even part of the game anymore
"slower and more chill" is the exact opposite of what people want in a dino game. If you want slow and chill, go play "care bears sitting by the campfire while chatting in global simulator" because that's what people like you want to do. The rest of us want to actively run around the map, hunting other players with as little downtime as humanly possible. Hunting other players is the ONLY reason we play dino games.

Its pretty clear that Gateway is just in a placeholder state for us to play on while they develop it further and push updates out. Its getting there slowly but surely. I absolutely love this game regardless. Looking forward to playing as Diablo soon and hopefully with mutations involved. Keep up the great content mate

I think Gateway even though was not even close to being perfect was a positive, it is far better than Spiro in terms of it's design but one enormous issue with it is the performance.
Like I admit I do have a tendancy to want to play this game on the highest graphs settings because it looks so damn beautiful but I shouldn't need an RX6750XT, a graphics card meant for 1440p gaming to play it on 1080p highest and get 50-60 fps. Yea they added FSR and all but it doesn't even work (I don't even know if DLSS does) and I have no idea why they made it so that Nvidia GPUs can't use FSR, not everyone has an RTX card and if FSR worked and was available to everyone including people with GTX cards, they could at least get some decent upscaling to improve their frames.
Other than that pretty much every issue I have with this game are player behaviour issues, though I guess there are community servers for that.
Yeah in the last update it absolutely ruined my FPS, so strange as I have a good card, I have a 3070 and never had an issue until now really, stuck on 25-30fps 🥹

The only good spot for deinos that I know right now is south plain, but it's not that easy to get there

Problem that i have is that they release update once a year and they fup so bad. We expected TREX to be released at new year(2024) now it's almost june, half a year later not a single word, dafuq. Mark my words GTA6 will be released and we wont get trex and problem with fps will NOT be fixed. Im playing with intel i9 and rtx 4080 and my pc DIE, fps is disaster no mather what graphic settings i set. I was playing deino and ptera before gateway so now game is basically dead for me. Yeah, all good points, I do think it is getting better and is destined to be a great game, my take on issues of updates and features messing with the game is that its a 'work in progress' by a small team trying to do something with a game that has never really existed before, so its all new ground to be trodden on, to be honest I am enjoying the development an the drama it can bring, its fascinating watching such a small Dev team tackle such difficult problems in a game genre that really has never existed before, we are still yet to see some of the truly huge Dinos, these will mix things up a lot

i feel like gateway overall has been an improvement, and the stamina system is at least playable now. my favorite recent change is how they redistributed weight growth with % growth, making it feel like you grow faster and can participate in the game more earlier on. i do think migrations just create temporary hotspots that you can't choose to leave if herbivore, so i wish those were better tho :/ if i miss anything about spiro, it was how center map was like an open arena for fights haha
Yeah that is also what I miss about Spiro, you'd know if you wanted a fight you could go there or even avoid centre if needed. Migration definitely needs improving more and hotspots are ok but there need to be more not just 1-2
Only problem I have with this map is how large it is, and how little interspecies interaction there is.
A Herrera can go it’s full life on server (with full life meaning like, 10 hours?) without ever meeting a different species, even in more popular areas.
Deinos half the time literally HAVE to be cannibals or need a full fish diet otherwise, because you just don’t come across any players!
It will change eventually, they will be adding more semi aquatics and tree climbers
Definitely wrong about deino. There's always people playing them. They just don't make up 25% of the server now, which is actually good.
Now there's only maybe 5 or so on the map at a time, which is honestly perfect when there's only 100 players.
So I am right ok saying less people play Deino now then 😅 And yeah no need for there to be so many Deinos, but I do believe the system for them should be slightly improved

I’m glad you made this video because I was wondering if Gateway really lived up to the hype after all the complaints I heard after it was released I wish there were more maps available to play on I wish they would add desert maps to the game again I miss the Grim Expanse they could make like a parody of the Nile having forests, swamps, jungles, and grasslands around rivers or ponds and bodies of water and you have vegetation like aloe’s and shrubs the further into the desert they could even have this map be the main weather system map with droughts lowering bodies of water and add a digging mechanic for certain or all playables were you dig pits to get access to water like chimpanzees and feral donkeys I’m kind of more certain playables like ceratopsian’s and sauropods along with hadrosaurs making them keystone species and a valuable member of any herd they could add human structures like pyramids or sand covered chariots I just wish they would do something different with each map environment like with a certain jungle on the map there could be a forest clearing with edible plants or offshore islands with a different landscape I’ve always wanted a map were each island was different and players would swim across to their preferred island the islands don’t have to be huge and for crying out loud the devs could even make a mountain map since they like cliffs so much
I think we are already in the mountain map 😅 But yes exactly that would be great! They should have allowed us to play in Spiro and Gateway in my opinion, and also a desert map would be cool! Definitely would be nice to see an actual variety of maps or at least bioms
@@ucjgaming yeah I actually have a ideas for the concept artwork like the colorized nesting grounds artwork if that’s official off a Diablo mega herd nesting spot on the desert river shores and them aggressively charging a T. rex that tried to ambush them from the sand dunes and the scarred T. rex roaring back at the angry herd and another of a screenshot from the finished map gameplay off a T. rex resting on a giant sand dune with the sun going down and in the background are pyramids directly behind him and another were a Para couple are drinking from a hole they dug using the digging mechanic with a Dryo herd following them in a dried out pond and later a T. rex coming to drink out the same hole the devs could totally make this desert map a thing and that’s my thing with the devs if you aren’t going to try and improve the maps and here people complain about it then why not allow people to mod the maps they may even get some ideas from some of them and it encourages people to play and get the game Path of Titans is already doing it so why not do something similar

gateway compared to spiro has made dienos alot more cannibals since..like you said not really many people beside two spots you can go to for dieno. So its dienos eating dienos unless you're at east plains pond, or south plains river, hence tons of players. Its kinda sad really.

The answer is NO. This game has lost THOUSANDS of players over the last few years. I used to play Legacy with over 100 people in my various Discord channels. Now in 2024, NONE of them play The Isle. Everyone I know has completely abandoned this game. They all play Path of Titans now. Evrima is garbage with no fun dinos to play.

In my opinion, this is what the game needs. We need the apex’s Rex and triceratops, 2 semi aquatic dinosaurs probably scaling in the medium rage size one carnivore one herbivore. increase the size of the crock to make it a true Apex. (long grow time though, should be a real challenge) One more semi aquatic apex herbivore. Nesting needs changing its dead right now. One way I can think of making it better would be to give the player the option to still create what skin he wants despite what the parents look like. I also think that there should be a permanent growth buff maybe 5%. There should be a player increased count on the server maybe 150. AI dinosaurs, that act like Real dinosaurs and play by the same rules as players that is reasonable of course, obviously AI needs help here and there. And I could go on and on, but I am going to leave it here.
I also want to add that I stop playing the game four months ago don’t plan on coming back till 2025 beginning of the year.

about the map size, yes it quite big and people stick around to much but the easy fix is to populate it with much more AI to make it attractive to move around and explore, gets more immersive and you have to make decisions or rather be carefull if you deal with an AI or a human player. if the bring rex and other apexas they really need to stretch out players over the map with this because you can already imagine discord groups with three or more apexas clearing out an entire migration zone because reasons
I hate how the map ruined ptera. And the map itself has quite a terrible design. Everyone says "just use online map", but this just means the design is bad if they don't give us in-game maps.
I only play Deino. The new map has drastically reduced my other dino encounters and now its a fish or other deino diet only. And as someone who wont eat deinos unless absolutely dying of starvation. I hate it. I miss having hot spots like central.
Dont mind the map but it needs some small changes, to me its very resrictive to many mountains and slopes you cant walk up a few to many rocks all over the place.
All I want it's more aquatic dinos to rival with deinos!

honestly imo idrk care about how the gameplay is when i barely can get 40 fps in a good spot on the lowest setting possible the isles performance is absolutely the worst preforming game I've and like 99% of the player base have ever played on top of the 100 bugs that fk you over every 5 mins and make you have to relog. I cant count the amount of times I've had to relog. I swear i relog more than i play the game. i feel the player base would double if they could play the dam thing and not be looking at a slide show presentation.
Yeah they do have a lot of fixing to do in the Isle. I wonder if they will ever have a game without bugs lol

The gateway has a problem with traveling because domes, ravines and other cool shit looks awsome but makes the gateway really closed and cramped. There is also the road system wich makes it easier to travel but makes everything look so unnatural in my opinion

The last time i played was V3 and a tiny bit of thenyaw (or whatever it was called) and to me, Gateway is an extreme improvement. Also the first time I got to play Deino and I love it, have played it almost exclusively. I do agree we need more waterways tho, so much of the map is entirely inaccessible to us.
That said, you are factually wrong about lakes being unreachable as deino. You can absolutely reach every single body of water as a deino. Wether thats a good idea or not is a different question.
I mean I'm sure you can reach them all when young, all ponds or lakes/rivers. But when you're big and much slower with worse stam, you'll die if you decide to go back to certain spots which could isolate you
@@ucjgaming The contrary is true in fact. At least the two lakes to the north west I can reach easily as full grown deino, even without going into dehydration if my pathing is efficient enough.
Apparently the path to the far east lake is quite dangerous as adult deino since you're easy to spot, WILL go into dehydration and chances are when you get there, there's another deino waiting to one shot you.
From what ive been told, they did some changes to deino run speed a little while back. Maybe thats where the misconception comes from. Baby deinos have stam for days, but run and swim awfully slow.
@@pineapplepizzasandwich1974from what I’ve heard and seen through gameplay videos water isn’t exactly deino’s problem since when traveling on land it can deal with dehydration pretty surprisingly well I think food is the issue because certain bodies off water can be dead spots and when you do make a kill everyone knows that there’s a deino in the water I could be completely or slightly wrong they could have nerved or buffed it feel free to correct me or add information

@@danthethomasfan2256 Schooling fish give 5% food and 10-20% dots diet per fish. So long as youre not on a "no AI" server, food will never be an issue.

Outstanding observation concerning the devs going 0 to 100. I always say they are "all or nothing". They have got to learn the middle ground. It's either Ai everywhere or Ai nowhere. Its either dark all the time or getting daylight at 5am. Good job on this.

@@ucjgaming I agree actually that bit by bit is a problem for them. I think it's that they're young and trying to understand what balance is. Balance is a very tricky thing to figure out. The natural tendency is to go from one extreme to the other trying to find "balance". Shaving just a little bit off is harder than we think. If that makes sense. I like the Evrima map, but there is still way too much wasted space. Lately I've noticed some previously empty spots now have some AI at least, but the map could really use a lot of improvements - different ecosystems, zones, etc. And the AI is still an issue, still not working correctly. I love this game and have played for years, and what it does well, it does really well, but Lord a'mighty, development is so slow and spotty!

I stoped playing becouse of this map... I spawn in and if I'm not killed the second I start to walk then I go and either starve or fall of clifs... It's frustraiting. One time I was able to find water, diet and some other ppl and the ducking server crushed 😒
Yeah it's not been a pleasant experience for most since the release of Gateway, which is a shame as it was meant to be the next successful part of The Isle. But I must say Hord Testing is showing some real improvements
Gateway is a great map, I just hope spiro doesn’t disappear and at least returns as a server option for those who are nostalgic for it, good practice/vibe server too. Also I sure as heck hope AI playables never return, the tenos were nice for carnivores who needed food, but they were a nightmare for tenos looking for groups

I know a lot of people hate AI dinos but i feel like theyre needed. The map is huge, it needs more going on and more food options. Maybe make AI dinos follow the mz religiously. theyre definitely needed tho.
Also this is just me dreaming but i could imagine myself playing troodon and not finding enough for a pack, but being able to nest in AI to keep my pack numbers up to be able to hunt. When they die i could nest in more. I know it prolly wouldnt work well but i think itd be cool.

Spiro was pretty much designed for Deino, so anywhere you'd go the threat would be pretty high of an attack by one. But in Gateway it's pretty rare to find a Deino unless you know where they usually are
