So he was guilty - of enduring years of abuse. He, sadly, didn't save himself and his daughter years earlier. Manslaughter / temporary insanity. 5 years no more. He isn't callous - he was in self-preservation mode. Way too late.
I sooo disagree with your reasons that this was murder not manslaughter - because he wanted to escape being convicted doesn't mean he didn't snap after dealing for YEARS with an abusive wife (and mother). Would a subsequent suicide attempt have changed your mind? You seem to commiserate FAR more with Sally Challum than David Pomphret. Even though she visited him with a hammer in her purse! (Which i realized immediately might have been bc she was actually thinking that she'd defend herself in case he became violent/attempted to rape her). If you read my comments on the Sally case, youll find i actually questioned that if Sally had been a man would the case had gone differently for her. This man's wife, in her abusive, explosive anger, coerced and manipulated her family! You think they werent afraid her anger could result in physical violence? This man protected his daughter the best way he could by diffusing the situation. I wish hed left his wife. No one deserves what he and his daughter endured. They walked on eggshells for YEARS. I haven't listened to the entire video. I hope he got a short sentence in line with manslaughter. I forgive him for wanting to escape punishment. He'd endured many punishing years.
Why do you believe he had no remorse?!

Thank you so much for your understanding. This is exactly how I, friends and family feel 😊
@meganpomphret8339 any chance his sentence can be overturned?
