Hmmm. I read or saw that bundy totally absolved his "parents" of responsibility for how he turned out. I know that his grandfather was violent. He said he had a wonderful childhood. Hmph. His assertion is either denial or, IMHO, more likely a pathetic way to pump up his grandiose perception of himself: "I - I - did this. No credit to anyone else." Did you say his grandmother was a very passive woman? That family was ruled by the grandfather's violence. So Bundy did NOT grow up in good circumstances. A family of pretense and secrets. Thats why he was angry when he found out his true parentage. He probably thought he was robbed of a different and bettetr family; one without violence and cruelty. He gave James Dobson his final interview. Blamed pornography for his condition. I wonder why, when it was his grandfather who created a fearful family, he went on to kill women? Why not men? Did he blame his grandmother and mother for their inability to protect him and perhaps truly be mother to him? Who knows what emotions were harbored by grandma (and thus treatment of him)? Who knows how his actual mother behaved toward her son, whose grandmother took on the role of mother? Something deeply went wrong in that family. And i wonder why bundy would want to protect them?
