    Thank you for watching!
Minecraft's Eula was recently updated and I did not get to cover it in this video. But just from reading through it, it seems like a very greedy way to crack down on people who use minecraft as a platform.
That being said I hope you enjoy this video! I promise the next video won't be almost an hour long lol :D
psst also i have a discord and twitter in the description if you want updates on my videos ok byyeeeeeee

The WORST part about the Marketplace is that a large portion of its content is _stolen_ or plagiarized, and Mojang/Microsoft rarely does anything about it because its terribly regulated.
(and the main different between Java and Bedrock is the coding language. Java is (as the name implies) programmed with Java, meanwhile Bedrock is coded on C++)

For me, the biggest problem is that it takes the route No Man's Sky takes: content after content after content after content, until it just becomes too much, you get overwhelmed and can't get in anymore.

Eh....nah No Man`s Ky had no content at first lol now it`s actually pretty good. With Minecraft whether you get overwhelmed is dependent on what you decide to focus on.

I dunno what its like in Bedrock, but I will say that in Java Edition they have an Advancements list that sorta hints at what you need to do to reach the End.

It is a story as old as time. Whenever a piece of pop culture becomes ingrained in the memories of the audience, it will be distorted:
The audience will remember it in a way it never really was, a product of its time moulded by the influences of its context and the life situation of those who enjoyed it.
And its creators can either let it rest and move on, or they can start twisting it and wringing every last drop of profit, be it cultural or economic, or both, until it has nothing left to give. It will then be abandoned, a shell of its former self that modern audiences will look upon with sadness, and detractors will point at and demand vindication.
It is a sad tale that Minecraft has gone for the latter.

this video i think profoundly impacted my view of the game in a positive way, im remembering so much about the meaningful experiences of the past and thinking of whats ahead for the game far more than i think i wouldve been able to without this video, time has been a blur for the last few years but this is pretty eye opening and i appreciate it c:

Minecraft is the type of game I see no point in playing alone for myself anymore. The base game got repetitive and updating mods and fiddling with them got tiring. Now I only ever play with my partner or my friends since that's more fun anyways.

I think the biggest problem with the Minecraft updates, especially the new mobs, isn't that there's too many of them...I mean look at how many different enemies there are in a game like Terraria, Minecraft has comparatively very few creatures in it, probably because combat isn't really the main focus (unlike Terraria, which is basically a 2D action game with building in it). The problem is that the new creatures are typically intended to do exactly one thing and that one thing rarely interacts much with the rest of the game. It feels like a bunch of little dead-end pieces of gameplay being stapled onto the game. None of them change the way you play, and if you want to pursue the new content...it's usually over in about 5 - 10 minutes.
Glow squids look neat and let you make signs that have bright text. That's it. You already covered the Sniffer in the video. Ironically, as much as people hate Phantoms (I haven't seen a single person who likes them) they're integrated into the rest of the game the BEST, since they DO have an impact on how you play the game (discouraging going without sleeping), and the membranes they drop have at least 2 uses (slow fall potions, repairing the Elytra).
It's funny, because I think wild experimentation is a big part of how Minecraft got to be what it is, but now that they made it big, they're scared to change things too much. Survival mode was controversial in the first place. Adding hunger was controversial. Adding an endgame boss was controversial. Adding enchantments and potions were controversial. Changing the way combat works was controversial. But back then, the game would actually take bold steps in a new directions.
The developers definitely get called lazy because the amount of content in each update is absolutely miniscule, to the point where I actually don't know what those people do all day. But I think you're still right, in that the worst problem is that they're afraid to do anything actually exciting and different. I guess that's why I always play with mods now. With mods I can add all kinds of new and exciting mechanics to the game, to the point where it is a RADICALLY different game than it used to be...and I have control over which content I want to have. If I want to mess with magic and learn the secrets of becoming a wizard, I can do that. If I want to play engineer and make giant machine networks, I can do that too. And if I just want to revisit that classic Minecraft experience, I can play vanilla...or restrict myself to only small changes to make the game closer to how I want it to be. It's sort of the next level of freedom in how to play, and there's always something fresh and exciting for me to discover if I choose to include it.
I guess that's why the updates to the base game feel so sad and anemic to me. Mods have given the game new life for me and my friends, whereas with vanilla I have to wait a year to get 2 new useless blocks, a neat decorative plant, and a mob that doesn't do anything useful 99% of the time. Maybe Microsoft should be taking notes. I'm loathe to suggest it, because I despise microtransactions and modern game monetization schemes, but maybe instead of selling people skins and worlds that they should be able to just download for free, they can sell people actual content packs that radically change the play experience, and let people mix and match what they want to have. It's what makes me enjoy the Java version so much, at least.
