But ye, it would’ve been cool to bring in an Italian voice for an Italian character. It wouldn’t sound so stereotypical like Mario, but it could still sound familiar enough if they went with that approach

Personally I don't think any of the famous casting was necessary (nor good).. had to watch the movie in a different language because of how off putting it all was. And I had a much better time!
There are too many talented voice actors that couls have a job! Famous people hoarding positions because people have made fame a necessary market approach .. is sad. Specially when Mario should be enough to have people watch want to go watch it.

But do you really need to hate on someone over a iconic character like I get it it’s MARIO but how come we accepted all other Mario actors but can’t accept Chris Pratt it seems to me that people are trying to target him

To me it seems like people sort of think that Mario and Charles Martinet go hand in hand because he's been the only canon voice of mario for 20 years. And I think it's also because Pratts Mario voice is so different to Martinets.
But like I said in the video, once Pratt got the role there was no point in expecting him to do an impression of Martinet's. I'm sure Pratts voice won't ruin the movie lol
