  • In Honkai Star Rail Lore finality has always been a big mystery. Not much is known about who follows them, what their goals are or what their aeon even looks like and up till now we've only seen them from a not so good perspective given they represent the end of the universe itself. However with the introduction of Elegy from the creed exequy, we might have an explanation on what finality really means, the other side of finality which represents hope and a new beginning. So in this video we are going to discuss this alternative side of finality and talk about what it might mean for them
Some part of this video comes from the actual lore while others may be speculation on my part as we currently do not know the full story. As such take it with a grain of salt as the point of this video is just a deeper dive into Honkai Star Rail lore.
If you enjoyed the video or it has helped you in someway please feel free to like and subscribe and suggest in the comments whether there are any other videos you would like to see.

Silver wolf truly has the greatest loss in the entire HSR universe

Hearing SW's loss and traumatic experiences made me weep

i have an interesting fact to share to you, the word "Finality" in hsr is not most accurately or closely translated from it original chinese words to english. The "Finality" that mean the end that we typically thought of is the one being use in hi3 as the word finality written in hi3 and hsr use 2 different writing, the chinese word of "Finality" in hsr mean closer to "desolation" than "the end". In honkaiverse, finality is always represent a cycle of end and rebirth, symbolize end and beginning at the same time. What Elegry said might not be wrong either imo, if Terminus keep going backward in time, it mean they will one point reach the beginning of the universe so in a sense Terminus is the beginning and the end at the same time

Its exactly the same as finality in honkai impact. The world is on a samsara and finality resets the cycle. I thought everyone already knew that

I'm still believing that Honkai Impact's Ferryman being one of the unintentional follower of Path of Finality, even despite there's very little depiction of his past life compared to most characters, all while I'm suspect of Rosemary Rita might be tied to Fuli if she's ever encountered Aeon Fuli during a point of her past when accompanying Ferryman

SW has the most tragic loss in all of Hoyoverse.

True Nihility bros are going to be like "So either everythjng ends or the universe restarts and inevitably gives birth to another aeon of Nihility? I don't know, still sounds pretty pointless to me. Who cares if the aeon of nihility's name is IX, X, XI, or XII."

  • @BriceKoua-11-11

Yeah! i'm felt relief when she explained that it isn't Destructive at all but represent End point then Begin point

Nihility can mean a good thing because someone can believe life is ultimately meaningless, and through that meaninglessness realize that only humans can provide meaning for themselves, becoming a sort of comforting thing at the end🧐

Technically Abundance and Finality is 2 sides of the same coin.

Literally the motto of Chapter 35 in Hi3rd

I am still baffled how a rather big portion of the fandom still sees the paths in black in white. Finality may mean that everything ends eventually, but also that negative things like suffering aren't eternal (heck, lots of horror has to do with immortallity and infinity). Same for Nihility, it is not in fact all doom and gloom, there is also hopeful nihility (something very well explored in Everything, Everywhere all at once) which I would argue is also the philosophy that Acheron follows and was the point of her in the story. (Her dialogue with Aventurine expresses that entire philosophy in response to the "Why does life slumber?" question [which, in my opinion was a very well made story hook to express the entire different mindsets of the characters in how they answered that question, but I digress], also in her dialogue with Tiernan in regards to her duties "It is pointless, yet i will still do it"). Abundance would have been seen as a good thing and Hunt as bad if you just take the connotations of their path names without any story context and how it was presented to us. There is so much nuance.

If we go by the writing of Honkai Impact 3rd, Finality can wipe the slate clean and begin anew or complete desolation. The results are dependent on the one who can change the outcome.

  • @Maethendias

this is why i love star rails writing so much

  • @pixelrose_

if terminus does have connection to the hi3 cocoon of finality or honkai in general

  • @snackeetah2627

Well, the thing is, Finality concept is grenerally quite predictable if HoYo'll do what they usually do. Finality basicaly derives from Eastern religious/philosophical concepts or Samsara, the eternal cycle of death and rebirth everyone tries to escape (since birth brings suffering, through time it leads to death and then to birth and suffering again) but it's hardly an easy task. Also the same concept was implied in Honkai Impact 3rd with its recurring themes of civilizations being destroyed and raised anew to try beat Honkai again. So the first obvious point in that Finality being "the end and the beginning" and so representing Samsara is a thing people should try to overcome. Secondly, Terminus, and Aeon of Finality, is an Aeon, and Aeons operate according to their primum mobile, so Nanook seeks dectruction, Fuli seeks memories to collect and save, Qlipoth seeks to preserve everything and so on. So Finality seeks to just that -- the end. To start anew. I can't believe their "prophecies" are about saving the world, they should be about destruction, to bring that "final end" and restart the cycle, that should be their primum mobile right?

The Next Finality & The Next Origin. Very nice indeed.

Tom Servo: "Oh, I don't think this is headed toward a happy ending."

  • @TinkRomero

I’ve been entertaining this one idea that definitely fits in with Finality, in fact … it might even be the most severe act of Finality in the game.

  • @arnowisp6244

Please keep in mind. That is just what Finality is interpreted as. As we have seen in Star Rail different Factions see the Meanings of the Path to have difference. They may agree on the broad strokes but what exactly is in there
