Hey Pete...I’m a subscriber to your channel and a member of a few of the Facebook groups you participate in...Ive been a musician most of my life, but Ive only become interested in home studio recording and GarageBand (or any Apple product)for about a year now...everything I’ve learned about GB has came from your tutorials. I appreciate the time you put into helping people with it. I bought Cubasis 3 just to try something different in April, when it went on sale for around $30 U.S...I was so used to using GB and all it’s features, that Cubasis was a bit overwhelming at first. It definitely has its advantages over GB, but its more difficult to navigate and make use of the features. The “smart play instruments “ in GB have often laid the ground work for the projects I work on...and makes it easy to get something going. For me, it’s still unbelievable to have such immediate access to produce your own music at home. 👍...thanks again
I recently purchased Cubasis 3 to demo songs and work on music with bandmates remotely since we have to socially distance. Your videos have been invaluable to me navigating this program on my iPad! Thanks a lot!!
I’ve been debating for months now in trying Cubasis, because of comfort with GarageBand. But thanks to you Pete, I think I’m gonna take a leap and try Cubasis for awhile. Love all of the extra flexibility of a complete DAW. GarageBand will always be there for me in case I feel very overwhelmed lol. Thanks Pete you’re awesome!
Cheers my friend. Yes, this is why I wanted to do this week focusing on it, so folks can see what it’s like before committing. Pretty impressed so far!
Coming off of GarageBand, it seems much cleaner and no pesky Optimizing Performance crap. Steeper learning curve and not as many bells and whistles and gizmos but I think it’s going to really grow on me. Love the sends and busses
Absolutely love that you're getting into Cubasis 3 Pete! If anyone is interested in learning more about Cubasis 3 we have a ton of videos on our channel and new videos every week!
Cheers my friend. Yes, I watched a couple of your videos today to continue my learning. Might need to get a lesson from you before the series is done. 🙂
You truly deserve praise for your abilities . You dive right in to unknown areas of the Daw world and investigate them right before our eyes with composure and honesty. My eyes glaze over at times on these Daws and the learning curve involved. Your a real comfort with your bedside manner to the sick :-)
Cubasis 3 is awesome. I use BOTH garageband and Cubasis 3 for recording. Demo songs writing in garageband and then importing the individual (demo/scratch) tracks into cubasis for the final recording, mixing and mastering. Cubasis 3 has an AMAZING mastering plugin included that really pushes the music to professional levels.
Help us Obi-Pete you're our only hope. I've had cubasis2 for some time now but couldn't figure it out even AFTER watching UA-cam "tutorials" I just had to abandon it and stick with Garageband. Hopefully you can apply your teaching skills to Cubasis and open up some creative doors for us Cubasis newbies. Hopefully cubasis 3 is similar enough to C2 that I have on my iPad to make any tutorials you make useful and transferable?
Here's hoping my friend! It's 100% an experiment for me right now. I can see some uses and some potential there, but I already miss the simplicity of GB. We shall see!!
Thanks Pete. Since I started home recording using your guide to Garage Band, it has given me a fire in my belly to do more. This Cubasis for iso looks great. I really appreciate your down to earth approach, enjoy all your videos. Thanks from the USA 👍😊
Lovely Pete..!!! It’s so fun to watch your videos.. From GarageBand Pete to Cubasis Pete, seems like a fun transformation..!!!! Looking forward to learn this DAW as well..
Very good Pete, pleased to see you moving into this DAW... may motivate me to jump into this, as you negotiate your way through the learning curve & "guide" novices such as I along the way.
@Hi Pete…I’m just getting started with this..Every other tutorial on this opens up on a blank screen. This is the only tut I’ve seen that actually opens up on the exact same screen as the app. It matters .. Thanks so much…
Hey Pete , I’m super excited about this ! I have a friend who uses this and she claims she’s only learning, but in comparison to my GarageBand recordings and her Cubasis recordings , her’s are much louder, cleaner and better mixed than mine . I know you say it’s all about 1’s and 0’s , but her’s sound way better! I’ll definitely be along for the ride , and thanks for taking us along in your journey.🙂👍
Hey Gerard. It definitely seems to have some good control with that channel strip and master strip so that might be the secret sauce. We shall find out together!
Lovely to see that you made the bold step buying Cubasis. If you’re familiar with all the options and workflow I can assure you that you will love it. There are in-app purchases like two FX packs, free high quality reverb when registration is complete, arp sound pack for the synth and 3 Waves plug-ins. The Waves plug-ins are the same as the desktop version. You can also buy them as a bundle with discount. I’ve got all in app purchases and they are lovely. AUv3 is supported, so you can load any synth or fx you want to record. I have separately 7 Fabfilter Pro plug-ins on my iPad and it’s a dream to work with inside Cubasis. Also, if you buy the iPad version of Cubasis 3, you can download it on your iPhone too for free and the other way around. Have fun learning this new DAW. You can always ask me questions if you get stuck.
Pete Johns Sorry Pete, but what do you mean about the upgrade in the first sentence? The in-app purchase? You will discover a lot of details about producing music with Cubasis 3 soon. There’s really great stuff in there which can’t be find inside GarageBand.
Mauwin Fernandes Hey Mauwin. Unfortunately you cannot upgrade for free if you have Cubasis 2. I still have Cubasis 2 and bought Cubasis 3 for the full price last year. There were a lot of people upset on the Steinberg forums including me. The reason is that Cubasis 3 is built from the ground up. Cubasis 2 had many updates and new features in the years it exists and therefore Steinberg could justify to charge the full price for Cubasis 3. I can understand that it is a bummer. But if you have any in-app purchases made inside Cubasis 2, these can be restored for free inside Cubasis 3. That’s at least something! At first glance it looks and feels the same as Cubasis 2. But there are many improvements and extra futures. One of them is grouping tracks, very handy. They also upgraded the sequencer which is very accurate about any note played. Also, if you buy the iPad version, you can download it on your iPhone too with no extra costs. If you want to know all new features, take a look at www.steinberg.com and look under the Apps category. And if you still not convinced you can download Cubasis 3 LE for free on the App Store.
Happy to see you take this on and I totally relate to your comment about getting out of your Garageband comfort zone as I’ve been wanting to do the same thing. I’ve had CB2 on my iPad for a while so I’ll be watching these Cubasis videos you put out and starting to phase over to using this app much more, but will not be upgrading to CB V3 at this point (just from watching your video, I can see little, if any, in the basic functionality between 2 and 3.)
Looked like fun then my head exploded. I would love to skip the learning curve and just proceed to expert but nothing ever works like that .... so I might as well enjoy the journey. Thanks Pete for pushing the envelope. I’ll tag along as you work your way through it. Cheers!
You should create, record, and release an entire album using Cuebasis 3. I think that they would make for some great videos and some informative content. I’m planning on jumping into Cuebasis 3 soon.
Thanks for digging in, Pete! I love your perspective and willingness to be a noob. :) GB is excellent, of course, and Cubasis has a slightly stepper learning curve but is a great compliment or alternative once you get comfortable. I know Apple is going to retire IAA but I’m confident Cubasis will make the transition to AUv3. For now, the ability to integrate other iOS apps into Cubasis (including AUM) is really fantastic. AUM is also great for live performance with volume faders, BPM synch across channels and MIDI assignment to multiple channels (so you can have your MIDI keyboard control multiple apps simultaneously and use the faders to control channel volume) and then have each channel record onto separate Cubasis tracks at the same time). Thanks again for the awesomeness!
Thanks Sean. Yes, it’s very interesting and fun getting to know a new DAW. GarageBand is indeed very capable and the learning curve hasn’t been as steep as I feared to be honest. We shall see how we go once the series is done.
Been using cubasis 2 for the last 4years. once you see how simple it is you'll realise how easy it is to create projects. Cubasis 3 i would avoid untill its been thoroughly fixed....
Hi there. I'm not sure Cubasis has this option sorry? Logic Pro for iPad does if you'd like to take a look at that. ua-cam.com/video/vknX_yCSJpU/v-deo.html&pp=ygUdcGV0ZSBqb2hucyBsb2dpYyBwcm8gbXVsdGlwbGU%3D
I used Cubasis 2 to see if it offered any advantages and I struggled just like you did. It will be interesting to see if you ever get to the "ah-ha" point and decide this is THE DAW for me. GB offers me all I need. I still sort of keep my eye on developments with Cubasis and don't see any reason to go through the painful learning process...yet.
Yup. I hear you 100%. I’m doing this less for me and the music I’m creating right now, and more to help others see if there are things in there that they may need. And for future Pete who may indeed want to finally create that epic prog rock opera in 13/8 time. 😁
This is the best DAW for iPhone... and I have them all, I think. 🤔 I actually create most of my tracks in other apps and mix and master in Cubasis, but it really is an all in one solution for making music on the iPhone.
I tried using Cubasis 2, I really did, but compared to GB, it was just way too fiddly in its actual physical use. I figured Cubasis’s complicated nature would go away with repeated use -- but the fiddling nature never did. GB is much easier : and yes, I miss Cubasis’s “automation with everything” but also recognize it allows you to mix & re-mix forever .....and thus never finish a project ! I’m sticking with GB -a software that is actually fun to use.
We shall indeed see IG I come to the same conclusion. Going to give it a fair go and see how things progress. But yes, I did move from Reaper on PC because it was too intense and the simple nature of GarageBand changed everything.
Very cool to see you dive into this, Pete. Interested in seeing what’s next. I’m curious about the audio mixing and fx routing and Auv3 support (any added features, stability) as compared to GarageBand. Cool video and overview 👍
Yeah. We shall indeed see how this goes. I’m interested in similar things and will definitely be exploring these further. Hopefully the organic approach will provide value.
Dear Pete , does Cubasis have any restriction on the number of tracks like GarageBand (32 tracks)....and this seems to be fun....hoping to learn more about this through your videos :)
Very twilight zone to see you on a different DAW but I love it! I’m newish to C3 also. I was able to get it for (I think?) $23 USD coming in from having Steinberg UR44c and Cubasis LE. It still says LE on my iPhone but it’s identical to Cubasis 3 in every way, unlimited tracks and some free Waves plugins, etc. Looking forward to learning alongside ya and fun to know a couple things before you for a change :). (Click the keyboard icon to get the touch instrument interface)
Hi Pete ..... hats off to you for taking a leap of faith out of your comfort zone! I will be following your journey on this ... BUT, so far, I see a much more complex and fiddly DAW and not sure they have the amount of free sounds of GB? At the end of the day, I think you can make just as good music in GB if you know your way around it and have some talent writing & performing the song/music ... even without a master fader and aux send bus etc. If someone wants more complexity in a step up from iOS GB, then an upgrade to Logic is the way to go methinks! ... even though one will have to get a Mac (or maybe not if Logic comes to the Pro). I will follow your journey on this Pete, as it is good to explore and try different things, but I am not convinced I will move ....... hmmmm :)
I'll be following and watching your whole series on Cuba'sis .... thank you for making this series of videos:) .😁 Despite my last comment, there are some rather nice features in CB3 (loop function/automation) 👍
Still watching but holy damn! Those tabs and windows 🤣 Apple Needs to catch up! I thought this was a desktop app by the thumbnail, until I saw “iPad” in the title! There’s no excuse for them to leave out so much from the desktop now at least on the iPad versions. I love seeing more mobile apps getting creative and fitting more in.
I use cubasis 3 on ipad 6th gen and its slow on my ipad and crashes sometimes. Its a heavy app and i this my processor and 2gb ram cant handle it. So i think i should upgrade my ipad. But this app is very useful and awesome. And its inter app audio is the best feature i found.
Ciao Pete, I'm favorably impressed. in the past I have been interested in cubasis. I am very curious to have your opinion and I hope that in the future you will be able to better analyze the program. I'm interested in having your in-depth opinion. thanks and hello from Italy.
Since after you’ve created & finished your Time McFlies Righty Dokey tunes, from May 2021 until now, you haven’t yet did Cubasis tutorials of what you’ve learned & what you’ve readed in the manual.
Hey Pete. Great Vid! Love it, but I would miss the touch instruments in GB. I’ve learned about the Roli Keyboard and others, but for me the IPad does the same thing as good or better. So wondering if there isn’t a third party App Plug-in (?) that would support a touch instrument interface with CB? For example, there’s Apple “Logic Remote” that lets you use IPAD to control instruments in GB for Mac instead of using the computer keyboard. Until then, maybe you could do a video on how to optimize a project started in GB then imported into CB for the additional functionality it affords? Maybe a stupid idea, but maybe there’s a sweet spot between capturing ideas in GB but “pre-mastering/finalizing” them in CB. Just thinking out loud.
After having Cubasis for a couple months I realized you can’t record vocals from your mic. It seems They don’t support that feature. And that’s a huge blow. I never snapped cuz I always used GB for that. N now that I think about it none of the daws I tried so far support microphone recording, Only GarageBand, And that’s what makes me love it more
Even if I have the ability to buy a program like this, I would not want to unless I knew that it works with voiceover because Apple is not very easy about refunding money from app purchases and from what I have seen, a lot of daws both on the computer and on mobile are not accessible to blind users. It’s either the Accessibility just is not there, or it is incomplete. Reaper however, does have a plug-in that allows it to be screen reader accessible on both windows and Mac.
Sawubona/Greetings Pete Johns. I’d like to know what’s the difference between Cubasis 3 and Le 3🤔? Thank you for your videos they help a lot and stay Original stay Strong ✌🏾🌞
Hey there. Yeah, I have been meaning to check out Cubasis LE previously, but jumped straight in to Cubasis 3 instead, so not really sure. I'm sure there's a features chart online somewhere for this?
I’ve used 6 channels with my Steinberg UR44. As long as it’s class compliant it should work. ua-cam.com/video/K95B2-KfMak/v-deo.htmlsi=Y8Oz4Hu7caxKSG0G
Hi Pete, I am your longtime follower, I just bought CUBASIS 3 and I have the big problem with latency when listening to the recording on my iPad, do you know anything about it?
I didn’t experience this when I checked it out. Suggest it might vary depending on the interface and setup you’re using. I believe there are some buffer settings that might help if you play with them.
I’ve got iPad Pro os 16.3 maybe .4 soon. And apogee duet 3. Garage band is awful -the reverb effects etc are dire. Can you advise me which cubase version I can use with this set up and what else I need. It’s just for vocals + piano or guitar.
this hardly has halion sonic 3 on it. It's a VTS Piano.... I use on a laptop . But I wanna cut down on gear. Ideally I would like to be able to bring my Akai MIDI keyboard Mpk Mini with an Ipad and using Cuebase as DAW with the VTS Plugin. or this is app not compatible with what I'm trying to achieve.
Bro please help I'm getting a clip sound at the end of the recording if i reduce the region or split it I'm using focusrite 2i2 even though i reduced the region where the sound comes ...its not stopping... I'm getting the sound for every recording at the edge of the region
Make sure your cuts are before or after a sound. If you have a cut right in the middle of a sound it will create a little “jump”. Make sure you have some lead in or lead out time.
Pete, would you pls make a short video about using CUBASIS 3 on IPAD only for multitracking acoustic instruments (e.g. guitars, mandolin) and vocals all recorded through microphones . NO Midi or drumloops pls. Only metronome for the first track ( guitar/voc together as a leading track) . There are so many acoustic musicians on earth with no interest on MIDI , drums and electronic gimmicks. They would use CUBASIS as an multitrack reel to reel recorder with mixer only . Pls keep it simple and stupid.
Great video, Pete. But you've convinced me not to use it. Even though I've had it for about two years. This is the epitome of infant programming, using ikons instead of words. I don't have the time to work any of it out. And why use an O for record instead of an R?
Different stores for different folks I guess! The reason I wanted to explore these different apps is to help people see under the hood and work out what’s best for them.
Good video but disappointing app that makes punching impossible to do with any efficiency. In short, every time your re-record over a new section (punch in or just doing it manually) the prior recorded layer (event) is kept active. Then on playback you get all re-recorded layers playing back at once, with no way to mute them, or exclude from mix down. This is one of the most bizzare oversights in design of a DAW I have come across. In short if you need to edit recordings by re-recording sections or doing punches, DO NOT get this app.
I Like Cubasis 3, but all it is, is a fun toy if it doesn’t clock sync, have more time signatures, tempo track, and more than one loop tool. Oh well, powerless as usual. For the life of me, I don’t understand why they don’t have a sync feature, or tempo track. It’s weird, and unfortunately not completely Musical. They just had a major ground up, update, very excited to see, I was pretty sure they finally added a tempo tracker or something. I didn’t see a difference in anything. And absolutely nothing that matters! What a shame, cause I really like everything else. Maybe somebody knows why they think everything has to be quantized? Sonically, it was already really great. And there it is, no tempo track, but sonically even better. How much more do we need to polish something you can’t finish without having tempo changes? What the $
Mobile Metal well they are definitely larger kits with a lot more cymbals and tons etc. I haven’t really used them too much. But you also can use auv3 drums apps also which is neat. The pads are great!
Yup. It's a pretty complete recording package. I'm looking at it again at the moment if you want to follow my series - ua-cam.com/video/0cVYvD4WGxg/v-deo.html

I think I’m gonna dive into this. I’ve been wanting this for a long time.
Yeah, there's some real potential there for sure. A little overwhelming, but I'm taking it one step at a time! 😄
Been using cubasis 2 for the last 4years. once you see how simple it is you'll realise how easy it is to create projects. Cubasis 3 i would avoid untill its been thoroughly fixed....
It's pretty good in the more recent versions - ua-cam.com/video/0cVYvD4WGxg/v-deo.html
Thx Pete, I’ll be along for the journey 😎
Hope you enjoyed it!
Good Video - Add Audio Track - Routing - Inter-App - Add IOS apps!!
Thanks. I hope you get value from the other videos on the channel and consider subscribing if you haven’t already. 👍
seriously considering buying it now
It's pretty darn cool. I'm revisiting it again right now if you're still on the fence - ua-cam.com/video/0cVYvD4WGxg/v-deo.html
Ooo I like the velocity controls there
Did you see all those controls on the side too? Complete MIDI control in there by the looks.
thanks Pete I've been debating for a while whether or not i should invest in this app. Much love.
Hopefully over the next few videos you can see if it’s going to be for you.
wow pete! ive been curious about this too!
Hope this helped. The new series is underway too - ua-cam.com/video/0cVYvD4WGxg/v-deo.html
How to set up different time signatures (3/4&4/4) in the same piece of music, and how to set up the fast and slow steps. Thank you!
Hi there. I'm not sure Cubasis has this option sorry? Logic Pro for iPad does if you'd like to take a look at that. ua-cam.com/video/vknX_yCSJpU/v-deo.html&pp=ygUdcGV0ZSBqb2hucyBsb2dpYyBwcm8gbXVsdGlwbGU%3D
logic pro for ipad, Is there a one-time buyout version? Thanks !
Ohhh im so excited and waiting
👍🙏🤘
I used Cubasis 2 to see if it offered any advantages and I struggled just like you did. It will be interesting to see if you ever get to the "ah-ha" point and decide this is THE DAW for me. GB offers me all I need. I still sort of keep my eye on developments with Cubasis and don't see any reason to go through the painful learning process...yet.
Yup. I hear you 100%. I’m doing this less for me and the music I’m creating right now, and more to help others see if there are things in there that they may need. And for future Pete who may indeed want to finally create that epic prog rock opera in 13/8 time. 😁
@@PeteJohnsMusic Had to look up 13/8 time. You know...I like it. ua-cam.com/video/BptmiPxtdm4/v-deo.html
Nice. Undo is under the metronome button. Check out the master strip when you get a chance. My Cubasis 3 is still a little glitchy 😳
Cool! Genuinely appreciate the tip re undo! I have heard reports of some glitches. We will see how I go! 😄🙏
@@PeteJohnsMusic You can solve all of our glitch problems, Pete! LOL
Thanks Pete!!
You’re very welcome my friend. I hope you get value from the other videos here on the channel and consider subscribing. 👍
This is the best DAW for iPhone... and I have them all, I think. 🤔 I actually create most of my tracks in other apps and mix and master in Cubasis, but it really is an all in one solution for making music on the iPhone.
Haha! I think I will have a lot more by the end of August too! Seems pretty cool first time around.
I have had the same …
Very cool to see you dive into this, Pete.
Looks interesting. I think i would miss the virtual instruments like strings or bass. Are there any instruments included?
Yeah there’s a heap of sounds but they are all using the keyboard. Will be having some fun in the coming days!
Dear Pete , does Cubasis have any restriction on the number of tracks like GarageBand (32 tracks)....and this seems to be fun....hoping to learn more about this through your videos :)
Yeah, I should probably find that out!! I don’t think it had a track limit?
Cubasis has unlimited tracks - limited only by the device’s limitations
I watched your all video ,can you please make a video about auto tune like we use in MacBook versions?
Hey there my friend. I have this video which shows the pitch control built in to GarageBand iOS - ua-cam.com/video/dxiDwlZci4M/v-deo.html
Okay so next you could be doing a comparison between garageband and cubasis 3?
Yup, I did indeed. This playlist has some videos that might interest you.
Haha!! Yes, I really do feel like I’m learning to walk again! 😄
Thanks for joining me on the journey!
I will follow your journey on this Pete, as it is good to explore and try different things, but I am not convinced I will move ....... hmmmm :)
I’m going in as unbiased as I can. It’s hard because I love my GarageBand but I’m trying! 😄
I'll be following and watching your whole series on Cuba'sis .... thank you for making this series of videos:) .😁
Despite my last comment, there are some rather nice features in CB3 (loop function/automation)
👍
Still watching but holy damn! Those tabs and windows 🤣 Apple Needs to catch up! I thought this was a desktop app by the thumbnail, until I saw “iPad” in the title! There’s no excuse for them to leave out so much from the desktop now at least on the iPad versions.
I love seeing more mobile apps getting creative and fitting more in.
Yeah, it's a fine line between simplicity and functionality. Surprised at how quickly I'm getting used to the interface though.
Pretty Cool, looks easy to use. Like it so far! :)
Yes, it will definitely have a learning curve and there are so many features under the hood! Will be fun learning all the ins and outs.
Hey Pete, I have started a project in GB iOS, can I import that into Cubasis?
Sort of. You can export as stems and import those in to Cubasis. ua-cam.com/video/VallQgBz24E/v-deo.html
Wow you’re brave lol I had a look at the demo and bottled it :D
Haha! It's taken me a lot of time and a lot of courage to take the plunge!!
I was in trouble because I didn't know how to operate the iPad. UP Thank you.
You’re very welcome my friend. I hope you get value from the other videos here on the channel and consider subscribing. 👍
Looking forward to seeing you try using a mic/guitar my dude.
Yes, will be fun to learn and experiment for sure. 👍
Nice one! I'm back using CB3 again - ua-cam.com/video/0cVYvD4WGxg/v-deo.html
Ciao Pete, I'm favorably impressed. in the past I have been interested in cubasis. I am very curious to have your opinion and I hope that in the future you will be able to better analyze the program. I'm interested in having your in-depth opinion. thanks and hello from Italy.
Thanks my friend. I'm revisiting Cubasis again now if you want to tune in on the new series.
Thanks u Pete
You're very welcome. I hope you get value from the other videos on the channel and consider subscribing if you haven't already. 👍
Since after you’ve created & finished your Time McFlies Righty Dokey tunes, from May 2021 until now, you haven’t yet did Cubasis tutorials of what you’ve learned & what you’ve readed in the manual.
Yes, life gets in the way sometimes! I'm hoping to return to Cubasis at some stage soon, but honestly prefer using GarageBand on iPad.
Hey Pete.
Yup, I hear you Dave. I'm revisiting it now if you want to tune in on some more recent videos.
@@PeteJohnsMusic Thanks for the heads up Pete! Appreciate it. Been busy finishing up a couple songs and need to revisit your Mastering Vids!
After having Cubasis for a couple months I realized you can’t record vocals from your mic. It seems They don’t support that feature. And that’s a huge blow. I never snapped cuz I always used GB for that. N now that I think about it none of the daws I tried so far support microphone recording, Only GarageBand, And that’s what makes me love it more
GarageBand makes it easiest for audio recording. You can record mic on other DAWs but it’s a little harder to set up.
wow im curious about the kinds of automation s it offers? yea we have only volume autos😂
Right! Apparently lots! 😊
Yeah, I hear you.
You’ll get the hang of it......I would have the same problem if I tried GarageBand!
😎
Sawubona/Greetings Pete Johns. I’d like to know what’s the difference between Cubasis 3 and Le 3🤔? Thank you for your videos they help a lot and stay Original stay Strong ✌🏾🌞
Hey there. Yeah, I have been meaning to check out Cubasis LE previously, but jumped straight in to Cubasis 3 instead, so not really sure. I'm sure there's a features chart online somewhere for this?
Is it possible to set multiple time signatures in one project?
I haven’t played with Cubasis a whole lot since so not sure I’m afraid.
How many tracks can you record and how many interface channels does it support, using an ipad?
I’ve used 6 channels with my Steinberg UR44. As long as it’s class compliant it should work. ua-cam.com/video/K95B2-KfMak/v-deo.htmlsi=Y8Oz4Hu7caxKSG0G
@@PeteJohnsMusic Enough to mic up a drum kit, excellent! How many tracks can you record?
Hi Pete, I am your longtime follower, I just bought CUBASIS 3 and I have the big problem with latency when listening to the recording on my iPad, do you know anything about it?
I didn’t experience this when I checked it out. Suggest it might vary depending on the interface and setup you’re using. I believe there are some buffer settings that might help if you play with them.
Hi, what’s it look like (UI) in an iPhone?
It’s pretty similar but a little more cramped. I should make a video about Cubasis on iPhone soon.
I’ve got iPad Pro os 16.3 maybe .4 soon. And apogee duet 3. Garage band is awful -the reverb effects etc are dire. Can you advise me which cubase version I can use with this set up and what else I need. It’s just for vocals + piano or guitar.
Cubasis 3 is my recommendation these days. And my gear recommendations for your setup can be found here - studiolivetoday.com/gear
@@PeteJohnsMusic thank you
Does this have a quantize feature?
Yup. Haven’t used it for a while but from memory it has some pretty good quantising.
Does Cubasis have keyboard support like GarageBand?
Yes it does. I'm revisiting Cubasis right now on the channel. Check out the videos here - ua-cam.com/video/0cVYvD4WGxg/v-deo.html
Have you figured out how to quantize MIDI yet?
Sort of.... it’s still a little clunky.
This reminds me of Logic Pro for some reason!
It has some similar elements to Logic for sure.
@@PeteJohnsMusic agreed 👍
Are you using a Bluetooth mouse with your tablet?
Yup. I use (and love) the Logitech M590 silent - ua-cam.com/video/_nbZU0eYnQM/v-deo.html
Pete how did export your garage band tracks over to cubasis? Cheers
Hey there. Just exported as WAV files and then imported. Http://studiolivetoday.com/GarageBand
this hardly has halion sonic 3 on it.
I’m not actually following your questions sorry? Might be something to ask about over in the iPad Musician Facebook group or similar.
Will this work with Akai MPK mini connected to an iPad?
Hey there. I imagine so! I'll be connecting a MIDI keyboard in an upcoming video.
@@PeteJohnsMusic great! I'll be waiting for it. Pls include tutorials on mapping the controls also. Keep it up, man! 👍🏼
👍
Yes
Bro please help I'm getting a clip sound at the end of the recording if i reduce the region or split it I'm using focusrite 2i2 even though i reduced the region where the sound comes ...its not stopping... I'm getting the sound for every recording at the edge of the region
Make sure your cuts are before or after a sound. If you have a cut right in the middle of a sound it will create a little “jump”. Make sure you have some lead in or lead out time.
Thanks it’s working 👌👌
Why use Cubasis over GB?
GarageBand = fun app
Cubasis = easy to use app
Use both!
Join in on the new series Pete and take another look - ua-cam.com/video/0cVYvD4WGxg/v-deo.html
Yeah, I’ll likely revsisit again soon. My mate Jamie Mallender does a lot on Cubasis so maybe look him up too.
Can Cubasis 3 be used offline?
Yup. Sure can! 👌
@@PeteJohnsMusicthank you so much Pete. I’m learning so much from your videos and really appreciate your efforts.
Well why not right? Since Apple forces you to buy a full computer to get their full version. Thanks for this!
👍
I just reverted to using multiple tracks and overdubbing like I do with GarageBand iOS personally.
This Platform says it can share your music with a 3rd party ! IDK about that!???
Hadn’t noticed anything about that? Not the sort of thing I worry about. I doubt Steinberg are keen to steal anyone’s music.
@@PeteJohnsMusic CUBASE AFFILIATED ?
What the $
Hey there. I guess it depends on your use case? It’s not something that I need so not an issue, but if it’s important to you then I get it.
Welcome to the Dark Side!
Haha! Yes... it is time.
Tell me pete and jade.... how are the drum kits? Are they better than gb? That will be the selling point.
Mobile Metal well they are definitely larger kits with a lot more cymbals and tons etc. I haven’t really used them too much. But you also can use auv3 drums apps also which is neat. The pads are great!
its look like FL studio mobile
Yeah? Haven’t touched FL since it was still Fruity Loops. 😁
Still looks too complicated for me. I’m gonna stick with GarageBand. It’s easy to use and free.
Definitely a steeper learning curve, but we shall see if it is worth the effort.
and this thing costs 50dollar
Yup. It's a pretty complete recording package. I'm looking at it again at the moment if you want to follow my series - ua-cam.com/video/0cVYvD4WGxg/v-deo.html
