Best video on Loopy Pro so far. Good explanation (even if, as you said, you are just scratching the surface of what Loopy can do), good music (which helps a lot: some tutorials saying “you can do this” and then they don’t do it or they do it making music that will make your ears bleeding are not really helping to show the potential of an app) and the “keep it simple, we’ll talk about the complexity later” are all winning points to me. You are really making Loopy a good service. Good job

Wish they'd make it for android too
I've checked several apps for Android and they all have common problem: the delay. In any kind of action but especially in recording sounds (like from guitar) to the rhythm already played by the app - after turning it on it is delayed that you ears are filling with blood. Synchronization is a problem, timing is a problem (UI key press, record then play). Maybe the algorithms used in Loopy would solve that but yeah... maybe that is the reason why Loopy is not on Android?
I won't change my phone to iPhone for this reason but maybe I'll buy second hand iPad....

@@konradwiniarskihave you tried Bandlab? not their Looper, but its Sampler shows me almost to no lag.
@@konradwiniarskithe fact that you would have to buy a 2nd hand electronic to runan app is absolute bullshit. This is another reason why I despise Apple on certain levels. "Freaking buy only our products" is their mindset. It's not that hard to make something compatible for Android, companies do it all the time. And in this day and age, I would think that most companies producing apps would do it for both platforms. To me, that shows that the peeps that make looper are either fan boys of apple or just don't care.
Whatever happens. I hope you find an inexpensive solution. The only one I have found is buying a 300 looper pedal for all the things I want to accomplish with a looper.

So why buy something that can only be used at a desk?

Hi, Max. Thanks for the videos. They're amazing! A question: how are you recording your guitar? Are you using a condensed microfone? The post production of the videos (compressing, equalizing, mixing etc) was made on the Loopy Pro too? I would like to use it to record Instagram videos, and that has to be as fast and practical as it can be.

Seriously the best Loopy Pro video I've watched. it's been nothing but these "pro producers" either just making a (crappy) beat with barely explaining what's going on or them making my ears hate every second of it and making me not want the app. This though? I'm throwing my wallet at the app!

At about 9:30 of this video, did you need any special set up to allow the second donut to run auto recording after 1st donut played one bar? Again, love your videos and your guitar playing! 😍

No, you don't need any special setup. By default, all the subsequent loops (after the 1st one) have the same length. However, you can set a different length:
Manually before recording. For example, 4 bars. This usually means it's four times longer than the first loop (or master circle). Swipe up on the specific loop > Adjust the first slide.
Manually stop recording. Go to the sandwich menu (upper right corner) > Clip settings > Count Out Quantization > None. In this case, you could be a bit late. But don't worry, Loopy Pro helps you with that on the fly. Check out an example here at 5:30

Yes, you should set the follow action.
1 Swipe up the 1st donut
2 Follow Actions > Finish Record > Record > Target > Specific Clip (choose the 2nd donut)
3 (optional) If you'd like to set the gap bar before recording 2nd donut, go to Follow Actions again, press a white circle near the "Record" action > choose delay time (for instance, 1 bar)

This was such a great video. Thank you for making this. Question - it’s been a while since I’ve used any sort of app for recording music aside from demos on voice memo. This might be a remedial question. If you have a song that has different chord structures with verses and choruses etc, how easy is it to put together a song like that with this? Also is the Loopy HD from the same company and the next step up?

I was turned onto loopy some time back and bought it pretty much straight away for my iPad, I made a couple of loops and wanted a foot pedal (guitarist) and put off buying one so I could work out what to get. We are now a year on and I haven’t used it as I don’t have a cable to connect foot switch to iPad for a Behringer. Your demo of auto loop was great trigger to get on with it and use the app

Love your videos Max. Just wondering why doesn't the zoom H6 does pick up the background fan noise in the last loop. Is it editing or is the H6 that good?
Thanks! For the last demo, I used my "stage setup". I connected my pickup (Fishman rare earth blend) to HX Stomp. And HX Stomp is connected to iPad via USB as an audio interface. I will upload a video about all the audio options for Loopy Pro next week :)

Hi! Thanks! In the "Follow Actions" menu you should make an action "Record specific clip" in the "Finish Record" section. And there will be a circle icon near that action. Press on that circle and choose a delay :)

seems very nice :) and yes, boss rc505 mkII is expensive but it has some (advanced) features that are very useful - like multiple inputs so you can put different fx for different instuments played simoultaneously - for example voice & guitar (or even some other players) also you can have different outputs for each track, for example if the bass needs to go to subwoofers or to have separate control of the mic / voice channel.
I saw in another video of yours that it has decay control which is awesome, that means you can make frippertronics :) if you can add wow & flutter that means i need a mac
and lot more! have rc-600, will never miss! the biggest advantage of this software is to put it into your poket, but there is still a question: what can loopy PRO better, than Garageband?

"also you can have different outputs for each track" - yes, you can do that with Loopy Pro. Open the mixer (bottom left corner) > you'll see Destinations on every loop color channel, here you can choose the individual output channel on your interface
"if you can add wow & flutter that means i need a mac" - yes, you can wow & flutter. There are a variety of different 3rd party plugins on the App Store. You can use them inside Loopy Pro. For example, there is a free plugin called CHOWTapeModel for the wow, flutter etc. And you don't need a Mac for that! Loopy Pro is available only for iPad or iPhone (for now)

Previous app from that developer is Loopy HD. It was released in 2018 and it's still on the App Store (November, 2023). So, I assume Loopy Pro will be there.
BTW, there is really friendly community of looping enthusiasts around that app (FB and Discord). I hope we could support the developer

Thank you for the video! I have been using quantiloop for a while and your video got me back into looping with Loopy Pro. Loving it and got really inspired when seeing you modulate using Koala.
Could you please give some more context to how you used Koala FX with the recording? I somehow can't get it to integrate in the ways I want to. Like Koala doesn't modulate my recordings like yours. It seems to only modulate when I play the in-app keyboard. I have it set to my audio interface.... What could I be missing?
