Loving your knowledge on locs. Seriously considering locs for my dry, damaged, wild gray hair. Just a couple of questions: 1 Which technique 2 strand or coil ? And, which hair products would be best to use for such hair?
I have a question. Im starting my locs next week with two strand but im stuck between either brading the roots then continuing with two strand, or twist the roots with a comb then continuing with two strands. Which should I do? I have medium thick 4c hair and my locs up pretty fast.
Looks great.. also do you recommend no style for the first few retwist if you want your locs to expand and look thicker overtime?
Thanks! No, I actually recommend styles. If you regularly wash and retwist, you won't have any issues with your locs expanding. The water is what will cause them to expand.
WOW!! Her starter locs look amazing! For clients with similar hair/heat damage issues who are willing to cut off the damage and have significant new growth - would coils be a better recommendation than doing the 2 strand twists?
I think so, because the coil will make it very clear where the damage ends and healthy hair begins, making it easy to cut!
I had build up and lint in my locs so I cut my hair then I start comb coils option to loc, with short hair. I’m 3month
