I clipped my ends about every 2 months as necessary. My curls are all the way back . I love the thick texture of my hair as opposed to the bone straight. Yes you can still use heat just in a different way. Just try steaming your hair in sections and try to work in your deep conditioner. I think it's best that you do that because the steam/ deep conditioner can penetrate your hair shaft better.
I was able to recover my heat damage with lots of moisture and doing braid outs but I really didn’t have that much heat damage on the length of my hair it was mainly on the ends and for the parts of my hair that don’t really curl up like the rest of my hair I use perm rods on those pieces or i finger curl them

Thank you so much for making this video. I have fine hair and have been natural for many years. So not a novice to caring for my own hair. However, when I tell you I always get heat damage no matter what I do. It’s like I either have to be okay with it and just be a straight natural or be a complete curly hair girl and never straighten my hair. I would choose the latter but my hair doesn’t wear curly styles well that I think looks best for me since it’s fine. I have used the Aphogee 2 step and you’re right that it’s immediate sort of but doesn’t last. This video works!!! Thankfully I switched my daughter to OLAPLEX a few months ago so i had the main products. Wash three in 3 weeks, her curls are 80% back. So I can’t wait until wash 4 & 5. EcoSlay Jello Shot or using a curl activator cream (I used cream of nature) these are temporary but speeds up the process and is just a chefs kiss to those damaged curls. OLAPLEX No.0 & No.3 - sat in for 2 hours with a hair cover and under the dryer for 5-10 mins to activate those products. OLAPLEX No.4 shampoo OLAPLEX No.5 conditioner + curl activator cream for 3 hours and combed to define the curls. (3hours was unintentional, I was only going for 30min-1hr) OLAPLEX No. 6, 7,8,9 are all applied after rinsing out the No.5 and cream. To be left on (leave ins) I will define the curls again tomorrow with the eco slap Jell-O shot gel.
Man my hair is going through hellllll. I dyed my hair for the first time in like 10 plus year. Then I straightened for my wedding, then right after I did faux locs for my honeymoon.! I'm glad I came across your video. I went from perm to natural and I've been natural for 4 yrs. My hair was healthy and growing like crazy. Then I decided to wash , blow dry and straighten my hair to see how long it was. Yes pass shoulder length loved it. Feel on love and didn't go back. I decided one day to go back to my 2 strand twist but to my surprise no curls, string straight ends 😢. How do I get back or is it too late?
I just cut my hair. I cut 10 or more of inches, hair down my butt. My hair was so heat damaged, it looked relaxed and it was breaking off so badly. Some parts were getting short and other parts were long so yeah.. And I don’t feel bad about it. I know it’ll grow back. I’ll be ok at the end of this year.

So I had a quick weave back in December and the front part is straight but the rest is curly. I had also relaxed my hair so my curls had gotten lose but should I cut the straight hair it’s at the front. Idk what to do

@@tatianaprettyydo whatever you feel comfortable with. I would recommend dying it again with your natural hair color and take really good care of it. You'll have to cut it at some point, tho!
@@tatianaprettyy because you want to get rid of damaged ends. Worst part 😩 however usually means temporary and reversible since the roots is the parts that’s usually most resilient to heat damage so keep nursing them back to health xx
Yes you can the only trouble is relaxers don’t just raise the cuticle they sometimes remove the cuticle all together. So if there is no cuticle there to seal it won’t be as effective xx

I do silk pressed pretty often over the pass 4 years and I never got heat damage until I switched my stylist and I’m so upset 💔 This one time I’m so upset
I feel like the salon put something in my hair after I got a blow out. My hair is curly only when I wet it but I had naturally curly hair. I’ve been natural for over 7 yrs now I must start over. What should I do
So I had a quick weave back in December and the front part is straight but the rest is curly. I had also relaxed my hair so my curls had gotten lose but should I cut the straight hair it’s at the front. Idk what to do
Makes perfect sense
Thank you for this information. New subscriber today :)
Aww thank you! Welcome xxx
I died my curls a few days ago and the curls are so limp. I am embarrassed to wear them now:( how long would it take for the curls to take the shape of how I style them?
When you say avoid heat does that apply to washing your hair as well?
Watching, this is what I needed... I have a question if you ain't got no leave in to blow dry your hair can we use pure shea butter?
I would avoid using pure butters/oils and then heat without moisturising hair first it can lead to dryness x
@@naturalnadinee thank you so much dear, I will opt for a leave in before blow drying my hair then❤️
@@empressstarify2597 Also use a heat protectant. Chi silk infusion is good.
What should I do if my hair is protein sensitive?
I’m tryna take my perm hair out without cutting it I think I just get hair relaxer or some
Thank you Nadine for the info❤
How did you leave/do you leave olaplex 0 and 3 when using it on washday?
No I always wash it out after approx 20 minutes x
@@naturalnadinee thank you so much! I left it overnight the first night but was told to never do that again 😭
@@eunicegourgel826daaaaaamn @overnight
So do i only need the 0 bond or the other 2 as well? And when do i use them? Every week or every other?
start with 1, In my opinion no.0 is enough for the average person, but i had severe heat damage hence why i used numerous products from the line. I used weekly but see what your hair likes as for some people bond builders can lead to dry hair x
I’m so mad , I went to the Dominicans and got a silk press and now my hair is completely destroyed
Same ! My hair has never been so damaged 😢
Omg same and idk why I did it!
I honestly don't know what to do because my hair is curly in water and now if I dry my hair on low it goes straight
This is what going on with me but I feel the salon put something in my hair
My hair is damaged due to my defuser. I never thought it would happen 😢
Wow! That is abit unlucky they’re usually quite relatable and low(er) hear I’m sure you’ll be able to bring it back!xxx
Can you grow out hair dye (colored damaged hair) without cutting it/trimming ends? How many years can it take?
Very unlikely! You can trim/cut the ends as you grow and almost transition the colour damage out to retain the length though xx
@@naturalnadinee why can’t you just let it grow out instead of trimming it
@@tatianaprettyydo whatever you feel comfortable with. I would recommend dying it again with your natural hair color and take really good care of it. You'll have to cut it at some point, tho!
@@user-xf7mu7ub9d and why should you have to cut it at some point it doesn’t make sense
@@tatianaprettyy because you want to get rid of damaged ends. No one forces you, but if you're trying to archive super healthy hair cutting the ends when they start to show sign of damage and split ends is a must.
But, again, you're not forced. I, myself, have heat damaged hair but I won't cut it until it reaches a certain length.
my hair is straight at the top part instead of the bottom which looks so silly all from one silk press. i’m so sad 😭
Worst part 😩 however usually means temporary and reversible since the roots is the parts that’s usually most resilient to heat damage so keep nursing them back to health xx
How do I dry it then?
Could you do this if you had an relaxer?
Yes you can the only trouble is relaxers don’t just raise the cuticle they sometimes remove the cuticle all together. So if there is no cuticle there to seal it won’t be as effective xx
Thank u for this video
Can you diffuse your hair with cold air?
Yes, I do regularly
You are so gorgeous 😊
Awww thank you babes!🥺🥺🤍🤍
so for 4c hair, would you recommend only no.0 or the full pack from olaplex?
No.0 for severely heat damaged hair xx
Ugh I have damaged hair for sure then. 😭
I’m pissed off! Heat damage
Where was this when the Dominican people damaged my 5 years hair growth 🥹 the back of my hair already feel off
I’m very surprised you’re focused on no. 0 vs no.3 which most videos do
Yes it’s the strongest of the OLAPLEX treatments, for me No.3 didn’t do much at alllll xx
-Says she’s not here for long intros and getting straight to the point. -Spends 4 mins getting to the point.
😀
I'm sooooo hurt. I flat iron my baby girls hair and it's so damaged.
I feel like this isn't applicable for the 4c girlies because as a girl with 4c if I wear my hair in a little fro I would get sooo much shit talked about me.
I feel like it’s whatever works for you, if it’s a puff or if it’s another style just whatever you can work with x
@@naturalnadinee I’m scared childdd. Texturism is soo bad these days and if I hear “your hair is nappy” when my mental health is already not the best I may just cut all of my hair off.
@@naturalnadinee But I appreciate your words. Definitely have to try the olaplex.
Try to do flexi rod sets and gradually cut it as it grows back
Omg 4 mins before getting to the point? Next.
