When I transitioned from perm to natural, I never big chopped. I did rollers sets with magnetic rollers And curl creme. No blow dryers or hot combs for me. I clipped my ends about every 2 months as necessary. My curls are all the way back . I love the thick texture of my hair as opposed to the bone straight. I have only straightened once in the last 5 years. Enjoying the journey !

I got my first silk press in… 5 years? Washed it yesterday and had so much heat damage i sobbed. I did cut off most of it, but couldn’t cut off all of it since the rest was in the front part of my hair. So much growth & fullness was ruined.
BUT, hearing that your most of your hair bounced back WITHOUT cutting it in under 6 months gives me so much hope. I’m hoping to have your good fortune as I journey back. Never again will I silk press.🤣

I was able to recover my heat damage with lots of moisture and doing braid outs but I really didn’t have that much heat damage on the length of my hair it was mainly on the ends and for the parts of my hair that don’t really curl up like the rest of my hair I use perm rods on those pieces or i finger curl them

Thank you so much for making this video. I have fine hair and have been natural for many years. So not a novice to caring for my own hair. However, when I tell you I always get heat damage no matter what I do. It’s like I either have to be okay with it and just be a straight natural or be a complete curly hair girl and never straighten my hair. I would choose the latter but my hair doesn’t wear curly styles well that I think looks best for me since it’s fine. I have used the Aphogee 2 step and you’re right that it’s immediate sort of but doesn’t last. I will definitely check out your other videos and try your recommendations because I don’t want to cut my hair. If anything I will get a sew in and just grow it out that way trimming as I go.

This video works!!! Thankfully I switched my daughter to OLAPLEX a few months ago so i had the main products. Wash three in 3 weeks, her curls are 80% back. So I can’t wait until wash 4 & 5.
EcoSlay Jello Shot or using a curl activator cream (I used cream of nature) these are temporary but speeds up the process and is just a chefs kiss to those damaged curls.
I used first washed the hair products and oils out of my daughters hair so the bond can actually work straight to through the strands.
OLAPLEX No.0 & No.3 - sat in for 2 hours with a hair cover and under the dryer for 5-10 mins to activate those products.
    OLAPLEX No.4 shampoo
OLAPLEX No.5 conditioner + curl activator cream for 3 hours and combed to define the curls. (3hours was unintentional, I was only going for 30min-1hr)
OLAPLEX No. 6, 7,8,9 are all applied after rinsing out the No.5 and cream. To be left on (leave ins)
I will define the curls again tomorrow with the eco slap Jell-O shot gel.

Man my hair is going through hellllll. I dyed my hair for the first time in like 10 plus year. Then I straightened for my wedding, then right after I did faux locs for my honeymoon.! I know it was the faux locs that did the damage. The girl did it so tight I only had them in for 9 days.

I just big chopped a few days ago and I can’t tell what’s going on with my hair lol. The edges of my hair all around curl very well, but the center poofs up and is giving me a hard time curling. I can’t tell if it’s heat damage from straightening while transitioning, just a weird/different curl pattern from my edges, or lack of moisture from not taking care of my real hair while transitioning. But I will give this a try thanks!
