@@robertsparks7244 Toto or bust, in my opinion. I would (and have in a previous house) gone with the Drake line. Your choice of color and height are your own, and get the highest gpf (gallon per flush) as you can find unless you’re on a overworked or under-maintained septic system.
I have 2 of these toilets. The one we put in last year has the buttons horizontal (like the video) but the one we just put in has the buttons front and back. Is this correct? Was it installed incorrectly? Does it matter?
Thank you for your question. Thank you for your question. Yes the valve canister can be changed out without changing the base, although we would recommend just replacing the flush valve seal with model 83SGB. Fluidmaster recommends replacing the base immediately if you are using chlorine tablets, if the valve is in excess of 15 years, or you do not know the history of that toilet. 830VBGB currently unavailable on amazon as of 2021. home depot (glacier bay is a home depot in house brand) customer support 800 line and store do not have any replacement valves. in fact I was told by staff to never buy dual flush. They recommended I buy a whole new toilet instead. Insane. I avoid that store now. But Lowes is nasty too.
Where in the world do you get that wide of a channel lock? We are dealing with this issue right now and tried 2x to go to Home Depot to get a wide enough tool - even a wrench - to go around the same thing that you have (we also have a 3") and nothing is working?
We suggest using a brand called Channel Locks. The wrenches come in different sizes and the larger ones will open in excess of 4 inches for those larger nuts like the flush valves. The 830 flush valves will fit Quality Craft, Project Source and Glacier Bay models of dual flush toilets. The flush system was not designed for the Maxwell so we can’t say for sure, however if you’re willing to try it give Fluidmaster a call and ask for the manager (Michael L) he will help with a sample product for you to try.
Really? I have to remove the entire tank and detach the water pipe? Who designed this stupidity? Must be a Millennial. Glacier Bay, no, never ever again. You lost me forever. This is the unpardonable sin in plumbing.
Thank you for your comment, removing the tank to replace a flush valve is pretty standard practice with 2 pc toilets, however, using the Glacier Bay Dual Flush toilet allows you to replace the canister without removing the entire tank which is a much easier way to maintain your toilet for years. What racket I think the traditional toilet is better and much easier to repair.
If I have to remove half of the toilet to replace the valve, I might as well remove the whole toilet and install one that’s not garbage.
Add what kind would that be. They all have reviews that's all over the place that includes major brands.
