  • Well it's been a grind but we are almost there. I work on preparing the new 5 stud clutch hub, with the big fix rollers, and Ram Jet Retainer to get the clutch basket assembly ready. We do the primary install and then she should be ready to fire up.Gus comes up this week to help out with the final touches. I know he's Stoked and ready to take the girl home. Its been a trip but the things he has learned will be invaluable to him in the future, plus we have a had a great time though out the process, and that is what it is all about!

    Back in the 90's, I replaced a five stud clutch hub and basket with I believe a "Rivera Pro clutch", using a sealed bearing hub and splined clutch plates and friction discs. It uses a "diaphragm" spring setup which has proven to be in perfect shape, no discernable wear in close to thirty years. I'll never go back.

      I agree the Rivera clutchs are great. Just a little pricey up her, as are most things. Thanks for commenting.

    Man that headlight that was in the background while you were working at the bench on the clutch. Was badass the headlight and the bracket on the springer front end. Would love to see that boy up close. You take care and ride safe.

    Hey Ralph, could you give a link to the ramjet retainer and bearings you use. Thanks man 🤘

    • @itsmytimeletsgo
      @itsmytimeletsgo  3 місяці тому

      Hey Terry. Most any independant shop, in Canada, will deal with Preston Cycle, or Mid USA. Preston only has 3 stud design, but MID USA has both 3 and 5 stud available. Perhaps Drag Specialties has them as well. Good question. Thanks

    Hey sir, I am a little confused as to where I might find the information to keep my rigid frame chopper fully maintained and in top notch running order. I have a Santee straight legged frame and mounted on it is a 1994 Evo 1340 engine. The transmission is a 4 speed kick only ratchet top unit. The primary is a 2 inch open belt and a 5 stud basket with plates and steels. That unit in turn drives a 530 oring chain that drives the rear wheel. This bike is in the process of being put together now. I really need some kind of service manual for this chopper to take a lot of the guess work out of the torque specs, and fluid capacities as well as "how to do general repairs on it". What would you suggest for me to have to answer the thousands of questions that come up everyday keeping this fine old ride chugging along. and keeping break downs at a minimum?
    Thanks for any help! Greg

      I would say a manual for 93 up Evolution and one for early shovelheads (pre 1979 for the trans). In some of my earlier videos there are a links in the description to "Emanualonline.com" for all your needs. Use this code VINTAGEHARLEYS22 for a discount before the end of the month july 31st. Hope that helps. Thanks for commenting.
