Getting close now. Feel free to comment and let us know what you think.
Great stuff. Will you show how you align the inner primary chain? The book uses a math formula. Not sure that works with aftermarket parts.
NO!!! Not ending on a cliff hanger!! Seriously, good info.
Its always something. Thanks for the commnet.
LOL Yay for having to re engineer aftermarket parts, are we making $2 dollars a hour yet?
Your attention to detail, and putting the time into making sure parts work together, shows your a Pro. Good Job Ralph!
Yes you have to check every thing and make sure it is right and not take anything for granted. It is extra work but I only try to make sure it's right before installing it.Thanks for commenting.
Always good stuff Ralph. Keep them coming.
Thanks Ed. We all just keep plugging away at it. Thanks for commenting.
Nice videos, Ralph and awesome work. I think Gus is going to be a happy camper riding that back up the highway. I know that I would be all smiles, lol
She is gettin there. Gus is stoked about getting her home. It's been quite a trip. Thanks for commenting.
Another great video, Ralph! Keep em coming 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks Terry, I hope to be at it for a few years yet. Thanks for commenting.
What a cool and informative channel Ralph. You are a great teacher and your videos are on point 👌
Thank you for the kind words about me and my channel. Appreciated.
This is gonna be one sweet ride when it is finished. You've come a long way on this. Great work.
She's a sweet little bobber now and hopefully I have done the best I can do to make it right for Gus, or anyone for that matter. Thanks for commenting.
Very cool enjoy your content
Always nice to hear people out there are enjoying the channel. Thanks for commenting.
Another great video, it’s too bad about some aftermarket parts,, Thanks Bear for helping Ralph to get my motor installed,,, Good wrenching Ralph, I can see the finish line,, see you soon 🇨🇦😁
They are what they are Gus. Finish line is in sight now. Thanks for commenting.
I definitely need me a buddy like Barry 😅😅😅. I'd much rather lift an Evo myself. Much lighter lol. Great Video. Gus should be excited
Barry is a great guy. Ya Evo's are a little lighter, but still to heavy for me and yes Gus is getting excited to get her home. Thanks for commenting.
It concerns me as to the state of some aftermarket parts out there . That being said the people in your area are sure lucky to have a guy like you with attention to detail Ralf.
The aftermarket stuff is going down hill these day. Sometime I swear they are just sending our factory seconds. You have to look at it close and double check, and sometimes modify everything. Thanks for the kind words. Just an old guy trying. Thanks for commenting.
Clobber the thread with a chisel. Then the thread will tighten up and stick. You are running an early sporty spin on oil filter. It was also early big twin
Yes the filter is early sporty and shovel type. Thanks for commenting.
Put red lock tight on those 2 little screws on the hold down. Those are through holes
Thanks for the input. I would hesitate to do that though as I think they would be hard to get out later. Thanks for commenting.
You know a lot more than me but I’m wondering why you are using red Loctite. It seems like overkill, especially where you have a locking tab washer and it seems like overkill for that application and it’s going to drive somebody crazy down the road when they try to remove those nuts.
After doing all that work, I would also put in a Belt Drive. It is so much smoother.
Thank you for sharing your tips. I always learn something from watching you.
I just use a dab on the trans nut as I have seen so many worked loose even with the tab as many guys only bend one ear over and think thats good. Never had a problem gettting them off. Love to have put a belt drive in it but its not my bike and the budjet only go so far for each person. I did put one in my owm 81 though. Thanks for commenting.
Is that oil filter mount from V-Twin? I'm sorry but that stuff is always more trouble than it's worth.
Didn't get it from them directly but all the aftermarket stuff comes off the boat, if you get what I mean. Thanks for commenting.
Love the video very well informed felt like I was staying there right next to you. Hey is there a way to make sure you have the transmission output gear lined up with the rear wheel gear?
Glad you felt like you were here, I try to make it easy to understand. If you line the two up, motor and trans, then you should be in line with the rear wheel. Thanks for commenting.
Thank you!
Great video! What was the issue with the clutch at the end of the video?
You will find out next week. stay tuned! Thanks for commenting.
Is that a Sante frame?
I could not say for sure. It is definately aftermarket. Thanks for commenting.
Its a lot simpler to have kick start and tin primaries.
Yes but not many of those old bikes left around for daily running. Thanks for commenting.
Aftermarket junk. You need a machine shop to make their stuff work.
I sort of believe that these days. I always try to make things better if I can. Thanks for commenting.
