“Men like you have such an easy soul to steal” best line dude
My favorite it, “It’s hurts to know that you belong here”
“But our life’s made up of choices” is the best line
What do you think Peter ?
"they took for granted your soul, & it's ours now to steal"
😋

Hey, did you happen to catch slipknot live at Ameris Bank amphitheater last September? They absolutely devastated.🤘🔥
Fun fact, this was the first single off their album Nightmare. The album was written with their original drummer The Rev. Unfortunately, The Rev died of an accidental overdose before recording the album. So they brought in The Rev’s favorite drummer, Mike Portnoy (of Dream Theater), to record what The Rev had written for the album. The album artwork features a headstone the reads foREVer as a tribute to the late drummer. And the last scene of the video focuses on The Revs old empty drum set as Shadows sings “nightmare” as though losing their longtime friend and band mate was a nightmare.
As for the video, there are several references to other A7X music videos put in as Easter eggs. The bulging eyes refer to Bat Country, the spider refers to Afterlife as does the dancing with the skeleton.
Some more interesting facts-
The band originally had no intention of releasing a music video for Nightmare, as they didn't want to make a video without Jimmy (instead they did a lyric video). Eventually they got a call from Wayne Isham, who directed some of their previous videos, saying he had a great idea for a music video. The guys tried to shoot it down right away, saying they had no interest, but Wayne convinced them to hear him out. He then detailed his vision, which was based on a scene from the cult classic movie Jacob's Ladder. The band was stunned, as this had been one of Jimmy's absolute favorite movies (though he'd never been able to get his bandmates to watch it) and he would talk about this scene in particular, and how creepy and awesome it was. Wayne had had no idea about Jimmy's love for the movie before he'd suggested it.
The guys quickly started coming up with ideas to feature in this hypothetical video, all based around references connected in some way to Jimmy. They got so excited that they decided they had to actually make the video. So that was how it came to be!
Matt said there's "a million and one references to Jimmy" in this video, which tells me there are more things that most of us aren't picking up on that have ulterior significance. There have been plenty of covert references made by this band in other contexts that flew over my/everyone's head until one of the members casually exposed the meaning, so it is in line with Avenged's style, haha.
This whole album is a tribute to their late drummer “the Rev”, the album closer “Save Me” is an absolute masterpiece, it’s 11 minutes long but I think it’s probably their best song, highly recommend this whole album
Yeah i listen Save Me every morning before started working
Most people won't request this song but I think 4 a.m is one of there most underrated songs
Fell in love with this band when I heard Blinded in Chains, went out and bought the City of Evil album and rest is history. I’d suggest Blinded in Chains, Bat Country, Unholy Confessions, Buried Alive and probably my favorite song of theirs, Beast and the Harlot
Same here! Heard it on Need for speed, and hooked from there
As a fellow drummer, Man that ending where it finishes on revs drumkit hits the feels everytime😭
Scream studio version is one of Shadow’s best for his grit and belting. Crossroads is also one of his best for grit.
He uses advanced compression and sings while inhaling for his grit, his vocal coach was Ron Anderson, he knows exactly what he is doing for everything he does. One of his vocal chords stopped vibrating from compression belting, the actual singing, and he pushed more air to compensate and finish the tour and got injured from it, but his actual technique has been flawless since the mid 2000s.
That's very interesting! Where does that knowledge come from? I haven't heard him go into technical detail about that. Are you talking about when they had to cancel The Stage world tour because he hurt his voice?
So a little back story to this song (to the best of my memory):
Originally, this album was going to be a concept album about existentialism, the human condition, etc with a twist on someone who has recently found out the only had a few days to live. (This was later put into The Stage album). Unfortunately, on December 28 2009, beloved drummer of the band Jimmy "The Rev" Sulivan passed away of a drug overdose. The album was supposed to be cancelled and the band almost quit.
In early 2010 however, the band had an epiphany. More or less, Jimmy Sulivan was the band. Aveneged Sevenfold was his baby, and the rest of the band couldn't let it die. They decided to finish the album, release it, and continue to make music.
Rather than the original idea for the album, is was form fit into a eulogy for Jimmy. The album was kept largely the same hold for Mike Portnoy of Dream Theatre fame playing drums and touring with the band.
A song I reccomend is "Fiction." It's from the Nightmare album, but it was the last song Jimmy ever recorded. Jimmy had layed down vocals for the song, and then passed away only 3 days later. Lead singer Matthew "M. Shadows" Sanders then turned the song into a duet between him and Jimmy, with Shadows being the stand in for the band, more or less being one last goodbye from the band to Jimmy. If you ever want a good hard cry, try that one next.
Random list of songs I think really defined the band:
With Jimmy:
Bat Country (which I do know you're doing)
Trashed And Scattered
Beast And The Harlot
Almost Easy
Afterlife
Unholy Confessions
To End The Rapture
Second Heartbeat
Post Jimmy:
The Stage (with Brookes Wackerman)
Roman Sky (with Brookes Wackerman)
God damn (with Brookes Wackerman)
Planets (with Arin Iljay)
Shepherd Of Fire (with Arin Iljay)
God Hates Us (with Mike Portnoy)
Save Me (with Mike Portnoy)
I'm so excited for this deep dive! Avenged Sevenfold is an amazing band to dive into. I hope you check out So Far Away. It's definitely one of, if not the most important songs in the band's discography.
In extension to this, I would also highly suggest Save Me from the same album. Both of them are just full of raw emotion.
As always, awesome reaction. If you’re looking to see it live, I highly recommend watching it from Pinkpop 2011 or Download fest 2011. I strongly believe they are better live than they are in studio. From 2006-2014 (2008 LBC/2011 Rock Am Ring being their BEST performances) is M Shadows best years vocally. Throughout the years, they experiment with new sound (especially with the passing of The Rev) headlined by their latest and first concept album, “The Stage”. A year after however, M Shadows was dealing with vocal issues, resulting in canceling tour dates and they’ve been in hiatus ever since (which is why I recommend reacting to anything before 2015 if you really want to see what M Shadows can do vocally. He’s still good after but you can tell there is vocal fatigue, especially in 2018). THE GOOD NEWS IS, they are dropping a new Album this year AND FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 5 YEARS, they will be on tour, headlining Rockville festival Friday night in Daytona Beach Florida (I HAVE TICKETS)! Looking forward to more reactions!!
Loved the reaction! Would love to see you react to Afterlife or Critical Acclaim from the Live in the LBC concert in 2008. The whole concert was AMAZING and about a year or so before the Rev's death in 2009. God Hates Us from Rock Am Ring in 2011 was awesome too!!
M.I.A., So Far Away, This Means War, Save Me, Beast and The Harlot, God Hates Us are songs by Avenged Sevenfold and some of my favorites in the whole of their discography.
Great selection of band!🔥🔥🔥
Love your duck armies, especially that hit light :') !!!
Happy new year to you too !
This month, I'm not gonna miss any videos, Notifications are up !
As for the next Deep diving, I'm gonna recommend Asking Alexandria or Parkway Drive, two wonderful groups !
For the next Avenged Sevenfold, I don't know if your list is made for this month, as you already did Hail to the king, Nightmare, I can only recommend those fabulous, and/or magnanimous, and/or deep thoughts songs :
Requiem (Hail to the King Album), Simulation (The Stage Album), Almost Easy (Avenged Sevenfold Album)
I have done 0 Asking Alexandria and that’s a SHAMR
I now have to listen to M.I.A., Dancing Dead, Buried Alive, Save Me, and Tension. They're good songs to react to. I hope the upcoming A7X album will be a masterpiece. It's taking to long!
I really love your reaction, can't wait for another Avenged Sevenfold songs
YAY!
Song Suggestions for A7X:
Save me
Not ready to die
Scream
Desecrate through Reverence
The Stage
Bat Country 🦇
Beast and the Harlot
Buried Alive
Buried Alive is another good song! Also Save me but its a long song
Totally agree!
I recommend Afterlife lyric version of live in the LBC 2008. Also the drum set at the end of the video and the white one at 3:56 are both of The Rev’s drum sets he used.
Now I want to see the live version!!😂
1:24 ideas of songs: critical acclaim(live in the LBC), almost easy, afterlife, gunslinger, unbound, brompton cocktail, lost, beast and the harlot, bat country, seize the day,M.I.A,welcome to the family,so far away, buried alive.
I've seen this band 3 times live, and it's always been a good set. I just wish one of those times was before Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan died. He was a beast drummer. If you're gonna be doing an A7X month, I highly suggest Bat Country, The Beast and the Harlot, So Far Away, and Fiction.
Their shows are GREAT! My oldest daughter & I have seen them twice.
The first show was with Volbeat, Killswitch Engage & Avatar. The second one was with Breaking Benjamin & Bullet For My Valentine.
@Dealer Auction Nightmare hey I went to the same tour with Breaking Benjamin and BFMV. That was my third time seeing A7X, second time seeing BB, and finally my first seeing BFMV.
This band has so much meaning to me for so many reasons that I have “foREVer” tatted on me. I wish the song Buried Alive had a video or something but you can feel the emotions through that one knowing the history
I have been loving the reactions and while they may be very different from eachother in almost every aspect from emotion to just the raw sound, two songs you should react to are gunslinger and doing time they are both amazing songs highly recommend both of them
Love that intro,.and guitar solo specially the beat of double kick then they change into single hit bass and snare,..nice transition those elements,.
Fun fact: For all the solo shots (black room/background) Johnny Christ was standing on a big box because he's way shorter than the rest of the band.
can't wait for you to get to Almost Easy, song made me a fan instantly.
I love A7x my fav band Rip to the Rev and wanted to say your awesome and more Avenged Seventold plz
People that have a silly goose time, are the best people. This channel and you are great.
Awe thanks 😄
Love you!
I have not been listening to A7X very long. A couple months at the most. And this was my first song after my best friend recommended it to me. I fell in love with them instantly. And it just so happens that this is the first song I watched you react to and also your my first video of someone reacting to a video 😅😅. Coincidence I think not!!
So goood you are Charis
R.I.P. Rev. Such a tragic loss, you're one of the greats.
Great analyzing as usual M Shadows does have that like almost twang you hear but you know it’s his sound his voice.
Matt loves holding invisible watermelons especially in this video
OHHHHH now I get it
When I saw them they opened up with this song
Afterlife live at the LBC is a great one
nice duck shelf! quack, quack!
QUACK
I clicked on this video because this is one of my favorite A7X songs, and i did not expect to see such a lovable personality
Never change
❤️❤️
There's a lot of A7x songs, like Bat country, blinded by chains, Welcome to the family, buried alive, God hates us, natural born killer, requiem, Hertic, Shephard of Fire, and Hail to the King
God hates us by avenged sevenfold live at rock am ring 2011. Crazy vocals.
They are one of the best bands live. You should watch their entire Live at the LBC concert. They play hard and flawlessly, start to finish.
I saw them live in Chicago. The had a guy hanging from the lights over the stage. We all thought he had comitted suicide at first when he jumped. He hung there through the whole concert. It was wild.
A7X:
- The Stage
- Seize The Day
- So Far Away
Maybe react to : set me free?. Awesome concept, ive been waiting for a7x for a long time. Keep it up girl, u rock🤘🤩😀
Yay ! A7x month. I’m an a7x fanatic. Enjoy your journey
Excited to see what’s next!
Need to do Beast and the Harlot next by A7X
If you're looking for some early stuff, highly recommend Unholy Confessions and the live video of Critical Acclaim.
Dis is gonna be a good month
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Girl i know next 🔥
If you want to see them perform this live then Pinkpop 2011 live Nightmare is a good one to watch
You should really react to Afterlife by them. This music video has call backs to the Afterlife music video with the drum set, the tarantula, and the guitarist dancing with the skeleton (in the original he dances with an actual woman). This video was done after the death of the drummer so it's partially about him as well.
Hey Charis idk if anybody mentioned that the original drummer Jim “ the Rev” died. At first the band was going to quit because of the losing there friend & band mate. Drummer Mike Portnoy from progressive Metal band Dream Theatre helped talk them into continuing also was the drummer in that album also sang backups on nightmare.
You’ve got to do a deep dive into volbeat
You absolutely need to react to The Stage by Avenged Sevenfold
Definitely should check out some older stuff too, Unholy Confessions, Eternal Rest, Girl I know, Gunslinger, all worth a listen as well.
I love how your energy is so *theater kid* that I'd be able to tell even if you didn't say anything
M.I.A. and I Won't See You Tonight Part 1 highly recommended!
Charis, che bel sorriso, stay awesome ,adorable , beautiful and safe always, love the reactions.
This is probably my favorite A7X guitar solo
You should do Afterlife live from LBC, their best live performance for sure!
Love from mizoram 🥰🤭🤭🤭🧣
You should react to gunslinger. It really shows how his amazing vocals
Check out Avenged Sevenfold from Live In the LBC. It’s an awesome concert and professionally made. HD video and HD audio
My ultimate fav AS song
Matt always singing while holdin an *Invisible Watermelon*
Ohhhh I didn’t know what y’all were talking about with the watermelon comments 🤣
Surely you’re going to review “exist”! Please and thanks
a fact that not many people know I think is that this was filmed in the abandoned Linda Vista Hospital in East LA, a really creepy place that was on several paranormal shows before it was converted into a senior home. great place to send your grandma lol.
✨The more you know✨
You have to do chapter 4 from waking the fallen album
Please do Warmness on the Soul
"Buried Alive" and "Dancing Dead" by A7X should be required listening for everyone.
Avenged Sevenfold - MIA 🔥
honestly this is one out of the 3 bands that inspired me to be a bassist..............REST IN PEACE JIMMY THE REV SULLIVAN
She said "you ready for this?" And I got a Claritin ad
🤣🤣🤣
Modern legends! 💯
Fun fact M. Shadows and Axel Rose from Guns -N- Roses had the same vocal coach.
dont know if its been said but the video for this song is heavily influenced by a scene in Jacobs Ladder, it was one of Revs Favorite movies
ROMAN SKY. It’s just. incredible, in my opinion
Pleased to meet you
If you liked “A Little Piece of Heaven”, you should really check out “Save Me”, it has a lot of depth, orchestration and a really great meaning. It’s a bit dragged out though (being 10minutes long and all…).
Fun fact; song was written by the drummer a couple of days before his departure…
Crossroads is a great song, and dancing dead
Thank you for reminding me to put some Carmex on my facehole. Winter is wreaking hovok on my supple pucker tools for making my wife giggle.
M. Shadows the undisputed grandmaster of the invisible watermelon technique
Any one believe that the zombie lady is cameod in falling in reverse, song drugs?
You have to check out MIA, it's about military. It's an absolute masterpiece
Should react to anything song from Lorna shore. Preferably will ramos' one take cover of "Sleep token- Hypnosis"

God Hates Us live at Rock am ring 2011
