- Painting a rainy day scene of cars, and buildings in a busy city
In this video I take a photo of a flat grey day in Kenmore Square in Boston and create a rainy day scene. It requires a bit of imagination to see possibilities in flat grey says like this but using our imagination and memory we can we can great the "feel" of a rainy day.
I offer a full length demo of this painting bundled with exercises on painting cars. You can find this bundled lesson heregarytuckerartist.gumroad.com/l/CGLog

Gary has a very relaxed teaching style and I am sure he has a large fan base which now includes me. Great stuff!

Awesome. A subject I would like to do more of in the future. thanks Gary.
Ahhh, the very iconic Citgo sign. What New Englander isn't familiar with the good old Citgo sign? Growing up with Italian immigrant grandparents who owned a triple decker in East Boston for over 60 years, that sign was and still remains to this day a landmark of times past. If I recall correctly, there was talk quite a few years ago of removing the sign. I don't believe the talk made it out of whatever boardroom it originated in.😂
I am excited to give this my best shot. What a wonderful way to pay tribute to one of my earliest childhood memories.
Thank you for giving me such a wonderful opportunity, I only hope that I can do it justice. 🤞👩🦳🖌️
Thx Deborah - lots of great subject matter along with some history here in Boston

I have really missed your videos Gary, welcome back 🙃
Great work, I like their expressive appearance , ! it looks easy but I found difficult to reproduce,, Thanks very mucha
You can do it! With repetition:)
Different from the other videos, this time you did not work on an underpainting! Is that reason you choose only grey color?
In this painting, I wanted to express a rainy day with flat light, a muted palette is best for this.
@@GaryTuckerArtist Thank you, Gary, "flat light" incorporates with "muted palette" really create a poetic imagination.
Gary, I'd a question. I've been painting with watercolor for 7yrs, so I was looking for good watercolor paper.
Which one would u recommend? Watercolor papers on Amazon, anything specific or handmade papers? I'm from Cali btw 😁
Was this a cold press paper? Thanks!
This was rough paper, which allowed me to make some dry brush more easily
First!
quando il prossimo video???
quest'anno sarai ancora in Italia ??
