Actually, the 2 magots are the 2 Chinese statues inside. But I love this painting, you captured the atmosphere brilliantly! I am at this moment trying to paint a café in Jardin de Luxembourg, and this is truly inspiring.
It's always a pleasure to watch your confident style of painting. I would like to request that you post at least a small portion of your future video(s) in real time. Thanks
Wonderful and inspiring painting! Thank you for posting these videos. The format with instructions/comments and length of the videos are almost optimal. Thanks again.
Thank you for the tutorials! I tried this one twice, it was definitely better with the second attempt but I might try it again to focus on better brushwork
Gary, Les deux magots means The two cigarette butts, not the two buddies. Beautiful painting, gives a real idea of the ambiance! Very nice demonstration
Gary Tucker Gary Tucker I must have been drunk when I wrote that! It is not two cigarette butts ( this would be Deux mégots), it is two nest eggs. Sorry for that. ;-)
Very nice tutorial.. I love ur style of painting.. can u upload the reference image u used and also the pencil sketches for ur tutorials and share us the link so that it will be easy for us to practice.. Thanks
Gary I love your paintings and your informative teaching. I am very thankful for the videos you post, your are my favourite watercolour painter on youtube. I was wondering if you could make a video on a more basic topic. I struggle to actually 'move' the water from the glass to the pallette to the paper. I am not getting the technical know-off from watching theses youtube artists and I am often confused how they can just create the quantities of paint/ move the level of pigment they want. If anyone else could suggest a good video, Id thank you! Thanks Gary.
On YT: The Mind of Watercolor by Steve Mitchell. Very, very clear for both "Beginner" and "Intermediate." (For comparison, I think of Tucker as "Intermediate to Advanced.")
Hi Garry, what do You do the highlights with? White guash? If so how do You keep it fluid? By adding a bit of water to it? Thanks for a reply! Best regards from Poland
Please do you use a platform whereby your paintings are shown in real time rather than the speeded up versions? And can you show your reference material occasionally for the viewer to see? I follow your sessions and admire your loose style but I would find ‘real time ‘ so helpful for me to gain confidence in attempting a looser approach . How long does it actually take you to produce a painting like this? I love the limited palette in this painting ! Thank you for sharing . Vivienne
oceanpinkuk Thank you for your response....unfortunately that slows down the speech element too , making it very difficult to follow commentary! I didn’t know that you could alter the speed of video replay , so thank you for alerting me to that feature. It may well be useful in other situations . Vivienne
Sir your every work is great and informative for beginners and for experts too. I have a request sir, please give me a advice for solution of my problem. It is that when I paint the light tone, the middle tone is fine, but when I apply the dark tone then the problem comes that the color starts to appear very dirty and chalky(like powder). If I do not make more layers, I will not get the results as expected. I have adopted the method of not mixing more than two colors, but still the same problem comes every time.
I’m confused about what color to use for shadows. Are they always a darker version of the local color? Ex. I want to put shadows on a green building, should the shadows be dark green? Your paintings are so beautiful, I love your style.
Brilliant Painting and Tutorial. Thanks once again Gary!
thx Martin!
Wonderful Paris feeling, given by your outstanding lively water color.
Impresionismo en el sentido más puro del término artístico. Felicitaciones.

So good that you are showing the importance of realising shape with the brush stroke instead of adding all the details.
Ok … you have successfully inspired me!

You can slow the speed of any video in UA-cam. It's in the UA-cam settings. Hope this helps.😊

What is the brand and name of the white you are using for the final additional hilites and the lettering?

Magnifique ! Dommage pas de traduction en français! Merci de donner les couleurs!! C’est très important pour nous!
Cliquez sur la croix, en haut à droite du mot commentaires, l'artiste precise toutes les couleurs qu'il a utilisées (en bas de page).
👏👏👏
Excuse me. How long to get ready, please.
Good tutorial.... and a great artwork.
